Census and Sensibility

In another wink to homosexual activists, the Obama administration is taking an extraordinary measure to show its commitment to their agenda. Last week, the Justice Department notified a same-sex couple that they could change their passports to feature their “married” names, a major policy change that has yet to register in the press. The decision, which took effect this month, is yet another sign that the President intends on eroding the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) one small step at a time.

According to the State Department, the name-change revision was part of a Foreign Affairs Manual overhaul. Now any gay couple that travels overseas can apply for a passport “under the names recognized by their state” through domestic partnerships, “marriages,” or civil unions. In the meantime, the pandering continues. On Thursday, the White House confirmed that it would include same-sex “unions” in the 2010 Census count, further legitimizing counterfeit marriage in America.

Although the Census Bureau has collected this data since 2004 when a Massachusetts court legalized gay “marriage,” President Bush would not release the statistics because he believed it violated DOMA. This administration has no such qualms. Instead it seems intent on proving the President’s loyalty to homosexual activists in a two-week span which now includes concessions on the Census, passport recognition, and federal benefits for homosexual partners.

Abortionists Run for Coverage

On Capitol Hill, where the debate over health care is an all-day, every-day affair, both chambers are racing to find a winner among at least three bills that would overhaul the system. To help narrow the field, the leadership has packed this week’s schedule with at least seven hearings and mark-ups on various proposals. Of the utmost concern to pro-lifers is the potential for any of these bills to use taxpayer dollars to fund abortionists. The threat of anti-life coverage is real, despite the Left’s insistence that the word “abortion” doesn’t appear anywhere in these bills.

As we reported yesterday, the legislation sponsored by Reps. Waxman, Miller, and Rangel does mandate “family planning” coverage, which could mean anything from surgical abortion to drugs like Plan B and the morning-after pill. In reality, any of these broad health care mandates could be interpreted to include abortion as a health “service” even if it isn’t mentioned in the text. Whether it’s hiding in coverage for “family planning” or “outpatient clinics,” groups like Planned Parenthood will find a way to become eligible for federal funding. For this reason, FRC is working with Congress to include a provision that specifically and

permanently excludes abortion coverage from any health care “reform” plan.

Just as taxpayers shouldn’t be forced to finance abortion, medical workers shouldn’t be required to participate in them. Regardless, not one of the bills currently under consideration includes a conscience exemption to protect health care workers. Under ObamaCare, they would be forced--regardless of their moral beliefs--to participate in any number of controversial practices from abortion to assisted suicide. It’s not as if those safeguards aren’t popular. In April of this year, a national poll showed that Americans overwhelmingly support the right of conscience for health care workers. A super-majority (87%) of U.S. adults (regardless of their sex, party affiliation, or opinion on abortion) said that doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and others shouldn’t have to choose between their convictions and their careers.

Unfortunately, students are already feeling this pressure during their training days. Twenty-three percent of those surveyed said they “experienced discrimination” during medical school because of their moral beliefs. As more medical schools try to weed out opposition to abortion, these rights to conscience become even more crucial.

America is a Christian nation, steeped in a Christian heritage, and maintains a mostly Christian backbone to date. It’s a blow when many of the populace defers from anything Christian, and especially when the President actually feels this is a Muslim nation as well. But Christians have always grown up with adversity, disbelief, agnosticism, and atheism. But America keeps surviving. Jesus even said hell shall not prevail against its Christian roots.

America’s Christian heritage is complete, despite many people’s efforts to derange, manipulate, or simply omit it. 52 of the 55 Founders of the Constitution, deeply religious men, were members of the established orthodox churches in the colonies. Of those Founders, 26 had seminary degrees. Back in the country’s early days, each state was free to establish churches, to allow church taxes, and to require attendance in church.

The first SC Justice, John Jay, said “Americans should select and prefer Christians as their rulers”. Even Patrick Henry, one of the initial Founding Fathers said “It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded...by Christians… on the gospels of Jesus Christ.”

Martin Luther King, Jr., quoting St. Augustine “…all law is derived from God, not the state”. There are countless engravings and pictures of Moses and the 10 Commandments posted throughout the Supreme Court Building. Bible verses are etched in stone throughout federal buildings and monuments in D.C. All 50 states refer to God in their Constitutions. Every American president has acknowledged God in their acceptance speeches. The oaths all three branches of the government (judicial, legislative, & executive) and witnesses’ oaths in court include the words “…so help me God”. All US currency has “in God we trust” imprinted.

On dollar bills, the Latin inscription annuit coeptis means, “God has favored our undertaking”. On the tallest building (555 feet) in Washington D.C., the Washington Monument, the top has the Latin words Laus Deo, or “Praise be to God”. The designer (Pierre Charles l’Enfante) imposed a cross upon the landscape—the White House to the North, the Jefferson Memorial to the South, the Lincoln Memorial to the West, and the Capitol to the East.

When the cornerstone to the Washington Monument was laid on 7/4/1848, the Holy Bible was deposited within it by the Bible Society. Washington, himself, had a prayer for America that ended with “…grant our supplication, we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.”

Christian Heritage has been here since 1774. But in 1947 in Everson vs. Board of Education, Justice Hugo Black (member of the KKK and FDR appointee), reinterpreted the meaning of the 1st Amendment. He took Jefferson’s phrase “separation of church and state” from a letter Jefferson wrote to the Danbury Baptist Association in 1802. Even though that phrase is nowhere in the Constitution, and Jefferson even wrote the Declaration, but while in France had nothing to do at all with the Constitution. Because of that gross interpretation of one phrase in one letter, Justice Black limited the religious liberty of all Americans.

It’s truly scary when the president’s view is different from our Founders [Moonbattery: Obama Portrays America as a Muslim Country]. Recently, in Obama’s preparation to leave Washington for his Middle Eastern speech, in an interview on Canal Plus Obama noted that the US could be considered as “one of the largest Muslim countries in the world”. 

On 12/2/08, the Capital Visitor Center (CVC) opened, Congressional Members of the prayer Caucus found a number of prominent references to God curiously omitted from our history. The original CVC display on the walls claimed E Pluribus Unum was our nation’s national motto. Actually our nation’s motto is “in God we trust”.

It was later found that during the “SOU” address by the President, the statement “in God we trust” etched into the wall of the House Floor just above the President’s head was omitted. Even CVC’s display of Abraham Lincoln’s White House desk where his Bible was always present in full view was absent.

There are more examples of omissions of God in Washington. None are more telling than the quote from General Dwight D. Eisenhower in his D-Day message carved into the walls of the WWII memorial. But Eisenhower’s last line “…the blessing of Almighty God upon this great and noble undertaking,” has been omitted as well.

It’s difficult not to go back to Jesus’ words: “…the gates of the netherworld [hell] shall not prevail against it [the church] {Matt 16:18/ NAB}.” Today, one can cite many examples of the devil trying to make inroads…

ROHS compliance is a silly and stupid thing to have to put up with!

Most people who are not in the field of electronics do not know what ROHS compliance is. It is basically and European Union mandated environmental clean up policy for consumer electronics.

This compliance has negatively affected the industry of electronics in that it makes people’s jobs much harder. Outside of that, the compliance law is useless, senseless, and downright insane.

Years ago lead was removed from paint for safety. Ever since, paint has not been the same. It may be safer, but it is also much lower quality becuase the main ingredient that made it work well has been removed. The same goes for other products. Have you noticed that many “green” products like Windex, most pesticides, and other cleaning chemicals are useless these days? Of course! That’s becuase some loony environut decided to ‘improve” the product to meet ‘environmental standards” by removing the main working ingredients therefore rendering the product useless.

Back to ROHS. We used to use lead solder to solder components to circuit boards. When ROHS complaince was introduced (thank you Europe!) we had to move to a lead free solder. This in turn affected the whole factory. Silver solder will work okay for some things and not for others. It also has a higher melting temperature which required the purchase (expensive at that) of higher temperature solder iron to melt the new and useless solder.

We eventually wnet with a different blend that is lead free and melts at 800 degrees versus 600 degrees with the real solder (lead). It is working but was alot of trouble to find new solder that would work with all components and wires and boards. It was alot to trouble to have to get new irons to work with.

Now the next ROHS compliant garbage is metals. Remember working with screws in tight place? Remember how you could magnetize the screwdriver and hold the s**** on? Well, kiss common sense goodbye. From now the new ROHS screws will be totally free of any working metal that makes a s**** useful.  The new ROHS screws and bolts will not be attracted to magnets anymore. Once again, thank you Europe, for your brave and wonderful insights into how to s**** up things that work well.

My question is all of this is simeple? WHY ARE WE, THE SOVEREIGN UNITED STATES OF AMERICA COMPLYING WITH A EUROPEAN UNION MANDATE? !!!

Is Europe to good to buy real America products? Of is this environmentally friendly garbage run amuck? Where is the stopping point? When are people going to rebel against these regimes that force such arroagnt and useless operations?

All this ROHS garbage does is make people’s jobs much harder. Why are we pleasing Europe? Why should we care what they want our solder and screws to be made of? I say we make it our way and they can buy it to do without or build it theirself.

If anyone is an electronics tech out there and has the same trouble with this ROHS garbage, let me know. I would love to hear other complaints and send them to the European dictatorship of greenville.

A poll worthy of your vote...

Here is a polling site that is interesting. Right now the poll is about creation vs. evolution.

Of course we all know that evolution is not possible. Adaptation is possible within species, but all out molecules to man evolution is simply impossible and there is not a “scientist” on the planet that can prove otherwise. If they could they would have done it already.

We know that God created this Earth about 6500 years ago and that we are created in His image. Because sin entered the world, we live in a society full of sin, death, disease, war, suffering, and dispair.

Of course internet polls are not really accurate becuase they can be voted on multiple times by one person and some far left hate sites actually try to sabotage polls like this - especially Christian related polls. Their anti-Christian bigotry and hatred for good and love for evil can be a real pain in the rear in to those of us who try to do what is right and good.

The Answer to North Korea’s Missile Test

The answer is so simple that few have even thought of it.  North Korea plans on another long-range test of a Taepodong-2 missile that could potentially hit the US. The answer is to shoot the Taepodong-2 missile down with our current missile defense system. A successful shoot down would indicate several things immediately to other countries.

Other nation states, rogue states, and potential terrorist attackers would know that America can shoot down any missile threat at will. No people dead. No one held hostage. Remainder of whatever nuclear missile strike capabilities other countries might have, would essentially be rendered ineffective.

Kim Jong II, North Korean leader, has been saber-rattling for several years now. He continues to pour money into a nuclear missile first-time threat, especially towards Japan, South Korea, and possibly Hawaii and even San Francisco. But Kim Jong has said his missile tests would actually be for a satellite. In the past, Iran and North Korea have used “supposed” satellite launches to improve their long-range ballistic missiles.

It’s true that Kim Jong has long been unpredictable and highly irrational in most of his decision making. To date, rash judgments, emotional outbursts, and total lack of logic seems to plague his decision making.

If one of his rogue missiles was shot down by an American missile defense system, several things would be ascertained: 1) missile defense was proved to work on a real time ballistic weapon, and could be used on others, 2) almost every country having a missile attack system (~30 countries) would second guess their nuclear expenditures, and possibly antiquate their entire system of ICBMs, 3) no country could hold America or its allies pawn in a nuclear threat scenario, 4) North Korea could do little else—another missile (against UN Security Council Resolution #1718) could be shot down again, 5) the current administration would have to be concerned a successful US missile hit would be a highly convincing “test”; it would make it difficult to further reduce missile defense spending; (i.e., doing away with missile defense sites in Poland and the Czech Republic).

Already in Defense Secretary Robert Gates’ proposed 2010 budget, there are plans for the 44
interceptors in Alaska and California to be reduced to 30 [North Korea’s Nuclear Program]. That includes $1.2 billion worth of cuts in missile defense in just 2010. The Obama administration has argued having a lower number of missiles would be sufficient to match any North Korean mass launches at the US.  Democrats in Congress have a history of trying to cut spending on missile defense.

If Kim Jong does threaten a full scale attack, 30 missiles may, or may not be enough. Could he still threaten an attack and hold America or its ally a hostage to obtain what he wants? Could a much larger owner of nuclear-tipped missiles do the same, such as Iran, China, or even Russia? 

The Navy has been trying to keep pace with missile defense by having 73 Aegis ships around the world armed with missile defense capabilities [North Korea, China, U.S., Japan: Missiles, Missile Defense, Naval ...]. They’re mobile, they’re more numerous than ground-based missiles, but have a particular weakness that ground-based missiles don’t have.

A successful missile shoot-down by Americans [sent a letter] would say volumes to Kim Jong, who has thumbed his nose at UN Resolution #1718, which prohibits North Korea from conducting any launch of a ballistic missile. That shoot down would push valuable info on Venezuela, China, Russia, the UN, allies, and waiting terrorists around the world.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has said “there will be consequences” if North Korea proceeds with their planned launches. It’s probably a fact she didn’t actually mean a “shoot down”, but one can hope.

For sure, without a shoot-down or some physical proof that missile defense is a viable option sending ICBMs to the dustbin of history, the number of nuclear-capable countries will only increase. Your vote in the next presidential election will likely chart our course. That is, if we can wait that long…
