Take a Side with Embryonic Stem Cells ...

Take a Side with Embryonic Stem Cells
by Kevin Roeten

With four types of stem cells, use of three are ethical because no “life’ is jeopardized. In Embryonic Stem Cells (ESCs), a fertilized cell must be destroyed to obtain parts that are thought to cure particular illnesses. One who doesn’t understand “life” in the Declaration considers ESCR ethical.

One likely assumes several things with ESCs: 1) there is no life present, and therefore no “soul”; 2) ESCs hold great promise to cure many diseases; 3) most ESCs come from in vitro fertilization (IVF) usually slated to be killed anyway; and, 4) ESCs show great promise with diseases like MS.

Actually, NO one can say they know for a fact that a soul is present. A soul cannot be seen, but 86% of Americans say they believe in God, and most of those know that a soul exists in our “life”. But exactly when is it there?

Theories abound, but one would think that God would make it known when that soul exists. God did say that He knew us in the womb (Psalm 139). Through science, we know that a fertilized embryo contains 46 chromosomes and all the genes necessary for human development.

Ward Kischer (human embryologist) says, “Virtually every human embryologist and every major textbook of human embryology states that fertilization marks the beginning of the life of the new individual human being.” The Didache, the Catholic Church’s oldest teaching manual (90 A.D.), condemned both abortion and infanticide. The US government’s Domestic Policy Council (1/10/07) condemned the destruction of human embryos for the purpose of ESCR and writes, “Embryos are humans in their earliest possible stage.”

Unfortunately, harvesting for ESCs involves destroying a fertilized embryo. Adult Stem Cells (ASCs) have over 30 anti-cancer uses, along with seventy-three known success stories in treating diseases, but do not destroy life.

ESCs show a disturbing tendency to generate tumors when placed in animals. The going argument is ESCs normally use fertilized embryos that are slated to be destroyed anyway. According to the 2002 RAND Corporation study 400,000 frozen embryos were stored in fertility clinics. Advocates of ESCR claim that if those fertilized cells are not used for research, they will be discarded. However, that same RAND survey found 88.2% of the embryos are reserved for future attempts at pregnancy, 2.2% are discarded, and 2.8% are used for research.

Discarding frozen embryos can be analogous to a group of children permanently trapped in a schoolhouse through no fault of their own. It would not be morally acceptable to send in a remote control device that would harvest organs from those children and cause their demise. It’s never permissible to do research on, and kill a terminally ill child in the process.

A recent conference call with the MS society proved how desperate many are to find a cure for MS. They don’t understand that scientists are moving away from ESCR and towards ASCR, which is the only kind of cure to help human patients. They still cling to doctors who believe all those fertilized embryos will be discarded anyway, so it’s justified to harvest their cell parts.

They refuse to understand that scientists are now able to “reprogram” normal cells with “iPS” (induced pluripotent stem) cells to become a different type of tissue. Online NATURE (8/27/08), described the direct manipulation in the bodies of living mice: of changing common pancreatic cells into insulin-producing cells.

Nobody knows for an absolute fact that killing an ESC is killing a real person. But a fertilized stem cell has every chromosome it needs to grow into a human adult, and is distinctly different from its mom and dad. That’s likely the best time to have a soul installed. Even for the “soul” skeptic, one would have to think that believing “life” exists at conception is the only option---especially when the payback is so immense.

Of course, we could always use a person’s parts to repair someone else. But didn’t they hang people after the Nuremburg trials because of the Nazi attempt to do just that? Many with MS became very emotional about Bush’s elimination of federal funding for ESCR. It sounds as if Obama will reinstate the funding, even though pure logic points the other way.

WEBSITE OF THE WEEK

BIBLE VERSE OF THE WEEK

First of all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. They will say, “Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our fathers died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.” But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens existed and the earth was formed out of water and by water. By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men. But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare. Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness.

Angry homosexual mob surrounds Christians in San Francisco

Watch this amazing video and listen to this angry mob surround these
mild-mannered Christians. If the police hadn’t come, what would have happened?
And they are ironically yelling, “Shame on You!” That’s what the homosexuals in
SF who tried to disrupt our Folsom Street press conference yelled for 40
minutes.

What is so threatening about a small group of peaceful Christians to the
homosexual mob? It’s the power of God to save...and they prefer hell.

Please pray for San Francisco. They have told God to leave. They do not know
what they do.

------------------------------
via Towleroad:

On Friday night, before the day of protest we saw across the nation, a conflict
erupted in San Francisco’s Castro District between a group of residents and a
group of Christians who reportedly meet every Friday on the same corner to
preach to gays and lesbians about ‘converting’ into heterosexuals. This time,
they were met by an angry mob and the conflict grew so large riot police were
called to the area as the Christians were basically chased out of the
neighborhood.

KTVU reports: “‘Their rights were respected,’ said Joe Schmitz, an opponent of
Prop 8. ‘They got a chance to go ahead and pray on the sidewalk and I had the
opportunity to express my freedom of speech which is telling them to get out of
my neighborhood.’ San Francisco Police officers in riot gear formed a line and
escorted the religious group into a van to safely get them out of the area.
Members of the gay community insisted that their reaction to the Christian group
was spontaneous. ‘It was not an organized thing. We’re tired of it. It’s not
religious. It’s not a racial thing. It’s about hate. We’re trying to send a
message across the world that we’re standing up and we don’t want this to go on
anymore,’ said Adam Quintero.”

Closed System Dictates NO Manmade Global Warming

Closed System Dictates NO Manmade Global Warming by Kevin Roeten

With a closed system, there can be no major variation in temperature. With a closed system the amount of carbon is constant; therefore the amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) is finite because the O2 is finite. No additional CO2 can be produced other than a specific amount from prior existing carbon and oxygen. Therefore any increasing amounts of CO2 will eventually reverse, and cannot cause manmade warming.

No additional oxygen or carbon can be added to the earth¡¦s system. Whatever exists was there from the beginning of time. Granted, earth might get hit by a rogue planetoid at some time, but its addition of carbon or oxygen is negligible. But CO2 is increasing past the existing 380 parts/million (ppm) that exists in the atmosphere right now.

We know the ecosystem changes continuously. From Dr. Richard Courtney (UN IPCC/ UK-based climate and atmospheric consultant), we know that CO2 levels were 4.7x higher in the Jurassic Period (1800 ppm), about 200 MYA, and 18x higher in the Cambrian Period (7000 ppm).

The only geological periods during the Paleozoic Era when global temperatures were as low as they are today were the Carboniferous and the Ordovician Periods. Paradoxically, for global warming alarmists, the late Ordovician Period was an ice age having CO2 levels almost 12x higher than today (4400ppm).  That is a change, but there were no automobiles during any of the above periods.

Obviously, the CO2 produced stays constant over the long haul. Most of it gets used up during the common process of photosynthesis (6CO2 + 6H2O + [photons (light)]„³ C6H12O6 [glucose] + 6H2O). Breathing by animals reverses the process and releases CO2. It seems an Intelligent Designer had this simple process in mind when the earth was created. Most of the remainder of the CO2 is dissolved in the oceans.

All of this can be directly related to the atmosphere of Mars, which is 96.2% CO2 (Encyclopedia of Earth). Mars has no oceans to dissolve CO2, or plants to consume it. But Mars never seems to have a global warming problem.

Since carbon is able to bond with itself, as well as a wide variety of other elements, it forms nearly 10 million known compounds. But the simplest and most stable of the compounds is always CO2. Most of the more complex molecules with carbon include alkanes, such as petroleum or fuels.

Approximately 84% (37 of 42 gallons in a barrel of crude) is extracted as fuels. This includes gasoline, diesel, jet, heating, fuel oils, and LPG. The other 16% is converted into materials such as plastic, and do not go into further breakdown [edinformatics.com]. When fuels are burned, one of the end products is CO2, which is food for all plants in the world.

Because of the specific amount of carbon in the earth¡¦s crust, there can only be a specific amount of CO2 formed. Any CO2 is usually consumed by all the plant life. This is how the ecosystem has survived for hundreds of thousands of years. There will never be an excess of CO2 because there¡¦s a limit to the amount of carbon there is in the earth, and it is consumed continuously by plant life.

This raises a big question of CO2 availability if we are approaching peak oil within the next 20 years. If we consume less oil, less CO2 will be produced. Plants will lessen or possibly die off, meat eaters will have less plant eaters to consume because there will be fewer of them. Human life may be directly affected. Or, less CO2 will be consumed because less will be produced.

However, if abiotic oil exists in conjunction with oil from compression and heating of ancient organic material, then the date of ¡§peak oil¡¨ will be pushed forward into the future, if not completely eliminated. Either way, with a finite amount of carbon and oxygen available in the earth to combine, there will be a finite amount of CO2 produced. And if CO2 produced affects man-made global warming (which does not look to be the case), the net CO2 produced will still be a finite amount.

The Intelligent Designer took more than we imagine into account when producing our ecosystem. It¡¦s pure folly to believe that we as humans, mere passengers on this voyage through space, can alter our climate enough to directly affect life on this planet. Nuclear blasts, asteroid collisions, major earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, plate tectonics, and multiple oil fires have all occurred and temperatures have always returned to steady state life for humans.

We can certainly point to those ¡§naysayers¡¨ who have tried to say our climate is changing for the worse, however.

No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. Decimating the Declaration and Constitution

Decimating the Declaration and Constitution

The Declaration of Independence and the Constitution have been ignored by many present day so-called Americans. From the roughly equal split of the popular vote during the latest presidential election, one can easily make this conclusion. This is especially true, knowing each candidate’s plans.

The fifty-six signers/Founders enumerated only three rights guaranteed to American citizens in the Declaration. Specifically, they were the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. And these fifty-six signers actually wrote that all men were endowed by their Creator with the above three unalienable rights. And they knew they would die if the American Revolution failed.

Now this powerful statement says, and doesn’t say, several things. First, it says there is a God. And He is the one who gives these rights. Second, it doesn’t say anything about rights that were assumed later. Rights have been assumed throughout US history. What exists now are actual rights (enumerated), duties, privileges, and fabricated “rights”.

Duties include voting. The Constitution calls it a right, but only for those meeting certain conditions. Voting requirements have changed numerous times during the country’s history including sex, age, land ownership, race, and other factors. Fortunately, most of those requirements have changed, but some necessary changes are still needed.

Privileges include marriage. Two people are given the privilege to marry, and there are restrictions such as who can marry, when they can marry, marrying within the family, and marrying within the human race. A “fabricated” right, such as same sex marriage is nowhere in the Constitution.

Many say it’s it possible the three enumerated rights may not be rights at all. Half the population voted to be able to abort or kill life. Many say that life begins only when it leaves the womb. But science says that a fertilized egg has all the necessary chromosomes it needs to be human. That fertilization is the most logical time for a soul to be added. The Bible says that God knew you in the womb.

Even a 2007 report by the US government’s Domestic Policy Council admits that fertilized embryos are human beings; and that the only difference between the embryos and other human beings, are differences in levels of development. “Embryos are humans at their earliest stage of development,” writes the Council.

Those who say it’s OK to abort can’t explain how babies can evolve outside of the womb earlier than just a few years ago, they can’t document when the addition of a soul occurs, and they can’t disagree with the doctors or religion. They do say that a baby might deserve to die if they think it will be unwanted, if the parents can’t afford it, it’s not as important if born with a birth defect, and if produced by incest or rape it transforms the baby into a non-human.

Amazing how some see fit to alter and change the country’s two most important documents. Even Obama believes in what many refer to as shredding the Constitution. In his words, “…the Supreme Court never entered into the issues of redistribution of wealth, and sort of more basic issues of political and economic justice in this society.” Just recently he echoed his view after introduction by Democrat Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (Ohio). He actually said that Americans “needed a second Bill of Rights guaranteeing all Americans a job, heath care, homes, an education, and a fair playing field for business and farmers.” As Laura Hollis/TownHall puts it, the above is no “bill of rights” but rather a bill of attainder—defined as the loss of civil rights as a result of one being outlawed.

Bottom line is that we have individuals who would like to “redefine” what the Declaration and Constitution actually state. We have individuals who put a value on life, which is some cases is small enough to convince many to kill it. We have individuals that are willing to put their afterlife on the line on the hope that their idea of what life really is may be correct. This when the treatment of life as one’s most important right will cost nothing, even if one is wrong.

The good thing is at least ½ of America has an excellent shot at a fantastic eternal life. The other ½ can always amend their ways and be saved. Even though the glass is only half full, the fact that it is half full is truly good news.

Loosing the battle, but still determined to win the war...

Of course all you fellow conservatives know that we lost a major battle in the war on traditional moral values last night when Barack Hussein Obama won the election. We lost the battle temporarily, but we will live to fight another day. Of course we have to watch Obama very close in the coming years to make sure America steers clear of socialism and radical far left policy. We cannot afford to let our traditional Christian nation turn away from God and toward a Soddom and Gomorrah like culture. Of course we must no let Obama ban free speech in the form of talk radio. That would give hard core left socialists the upper hand and a complete monopoly of corrupted power.

Please watch Obama and make sure America stays free and stays Christian. Let’s ban socialism from existance!

The Fall of Bush Actually a Surge

The Fall of Bush Actually a Surge

Depending upon what poll you might use, George Bush’s approval ratings have been dismal. A 25% approval rating (Gallup//10/17) is quite low. But there’s been no impropriety, no sex with interns, no wars lost, no egregious improper actions, no malice towards Americans, no breaking of laws, and no impeachable offenses.

It’s difficult to determine why polling numbers are so low. So many Democrats claim that Bush stole the 2000 election from Gore. Bush won the first, second, and third recounts.  Even the New York Times had the headline, “Study of Disputed Florida Ballots Finds Justices Did Not Cast the Deciding Vote”.

The smell of resentment still stinks three states north.

Then comes the Rasmussen poll stating 35% of all Democrats believe that Bush knew about 9/11, let it happen, or was personally behind it. Theories that the Pentagon was hit by a missile generated multiple conspiracies, which quickly dissipated when people saw the jet fly into it. Read Popular Mechanics, Debunking 9/11 Myths.

Many claimed Bush lied in his SOTU address about his 16 words about the British saying Hussein sought quantities of uranium in Africa. Per the Butler Report (1999), the British Intelligence hasn’t changed its mind. Had he been left unchecked, numerous sources reveal Hussein did intend to build a nuclear bomb(s) for covert destruction.

Over 35 influential Democrats (1998-2003) said Hussein did have WMDs, and that Hussein must be removed from power. The list, from before Bush, also includes Scott Ritter (Ex-UN Weapons Inspector), John Rockefeller, Madeline Albright, Sandy Berger, William Cohen, and Jacques Chirac (president/France).

The term “blood for oil” seems worthless, because not a drop of oil has been taken from Iraq. Less than 5000 casualties have resulted from the Iraq war, which is an order of magnitude smaller than any previous American war. Over 30 major islamofacist attacks have been documented in the last few years. Now we find out that 550 metric tons of yellowcake was found in 2003 after the Iraq incursion. Bush has stayed quiet about this find to keep terrorists in the dark.

For years, Bush has been pushing oil drilling in Alaska and the Continental Shelf. Gasoline prices escalated dramatically with OPEC, but reduced to half the price ($150 to $70/barrel) at the sheer thought of America being allowed to use their own territories. But Democrats have not allowed drilling.

For seven years under Bush, with the lower tax rates the deficit was shrinking at a faster speed than stated and the total debt was on course to shortly reverse.

With Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac imploding and starting the whole financial crisis, many blamed Bush and his policies. Earlier, on 9/11/03 Bush had proposed “the most significant regulatory overhaul in the housing finance industry since the savings and loan crisis” (New York Times). But Democrats like Barney Frank and Melvin Watt rebuffed any reform, and with their oversight refused to correct any “toxic loan” made.

Gateway Pundit listed 11 different attempts by Bush to warn about, regulate, and stop what was happening with Fannie and Freddie from 2001-2007, including 17 tries in 2008. Even McCain in 2005 co-sponsored FHERRA (2005), which was torpedoed by Democrats. The most telling fact is CEOs and major financial officers of Fannie and Freddie—Franklin Raines, Tim Howard, Jim Johnson—are now major players in Obama’s network.

Bush has been personally responsible for over 300 edicts, laws, and pro-life efforts through 5/18/04. They include reinstating the Mexico City Policy, restricting RU46 funding, Partial-birth Abortion Ban Act, announcing $300M for mentoring program for disadvantaged children, supporting Federal Marriage Amendment, supporting school vouchers, and hundreds of others.

Bush’s second tenure will be totaled in 2009, but they include vetoing federal funds for ESCR, proposing multiple “pro-life” judges for numerous positions, continuing the push for a traditional marriage (male/female), the No Child Left Behind program, expansion and building over 600 community health centers, and the installation of Alito and Roberts on the SC.

Unbelievably, to date no citizen has died on American soil because of terrorist activity since 9/11. All subsequent terrorist plans have been thwarted. Bush has kept the Constitution’s demand that he protect the American people from enemies abroad. He has used foreign telephone monitoring to eliminate American death from foreign onslaught. Unfortunately, many never read the word “unreasonable” in the 4th Amendment.

Bush has presided over one of the best economies in American history, protected Americans from foreign enemies including terrorism, continued as a steadfast pro-life supporter, reduced gas prices, and refused to “interpret” Constitutional law. The only thing worse than a wrong action, is when others say the action is wrong when it is not. The writer has been able to determine many characteristics from a simple chat with the accused. We hope the false accusations are eventually corrected.
