The Liberal/Evangelical Delusion
The Liberal/Evangelical Delusion
by
Rob Hood
An Associated Press headline today stated that an Evangelical liberal wants to redefine marriage. The name of the Evangelical liberal of the story is Tony Campolo. This man has stated that the problems concerning the debate over gay marriage and traditional marriage could easily be solved by uniting all couples, homosexual and straight, as civil unions therefore allowing the government to grant legal rights to both types of couples.
This is a rather disturbing statement from a man who is supposed to represent God’s word and His church. First of all, many are calling themselves followers of God or evangelicals, pastors, servants, etc. for God while deliberately opposing the Word of the same God of whom they claim to be serving.
One cannot possibly be for gay marriage and still be an evangelical leader. It’s immoral, unethical, and blasphemous before God. The Bible condemns homosexuality (and heterosexual sins as well), yet we see so many churches adopting anti-Biblical principles in the name of “civil rights” or even worse, “tolerance”.
The wicked cities of Sodom and Gomorrah were completely obliterated for the rampant, unrepentant homosexuality in the society there. How can a body of people call themselves servants of the living God and turn right around and blaspheme His Holy word by adopting the very principles that the Bible calls wicked? The gay rights movement has implemented an intelligent marketing campaign within our society to convince people that there is nothing wrong with that chosen lifestyle, but Bible believers by the millions disagree. This marketing campaign has been egged on by corporate sponsors like Ford Motor Company and recently, McDonalds. These corporate sponsors contribute funds and/or gifts to the homosexual movement in the name of equal rights and refuse to accept the fact that the traditional family is the backbone of civilization itself. Societies that adopt these practices always falter and almost always cease to exist. They simply go extinct.
America has gotten away from Biblical principles that guide traditional family values and a God fearing moral standard and has exchanged it for a secular, sin laden disaster called liberalism. In effect, liberalism which guided the “right to choose” ,has killed more Americans that every war that America has ever been in since the American Revolution combined. These same people have the audacity to rant and rave about Iraq and the 4000+ soldiers killed there without realizing that at least 4000 babies die every single day due to the infancide we call abortion or the so called “right to choose”. As a matter of fact liberalism’s abortion commandment called Roe v. Wade has killed over 50 million babies in the United States alone since 1973. And they scream about Iraq?
So, how can anyone, especially an evangelical leader, walk over to the dark side of liberalism and declare that homosexuality, abortion, etc is okay when these thing are a disaster to society? Homosexuality, abortion, etc. is a plague in America today and if real churches do not stand against these things with a loud shout, then the freedoms of religion may be lost forever.
Evangelicals do not need to be ministers and leaders if they are going to deliberately and willfully ignore the very Bible in which they were sworn to lead and guide others by. For some reason we have churches today that should not be called churches because they ignore God and ignore why Jesus came here in the first place. Jesus came here to seek and to save. He is the greatest teacher that ever walked the earth. I know that after some people read this column, they will reply that Jesus taught to love each other and not judge each other. Often times, churches who embrace the homosexual movement will blaspheme God’s word by using the teachings of Jesus to justify their actions. This is not right.
Of course we are not to judge. However, we are also not to endorse sin, but to repent of it and turn away. It seems like some churches forgot this part. It seems like these so called “gay churches” forgot that repenting has to begin before forgiveness and salvation can occur. If a person is a homosexual and asks Jesus to forgive and asks for salvation, then he will receive it. At the same time this person must realize that to repent means to turn away. He must give up that lifestyle. Do churches not teach repentance, forgiveness, and salvation through the blood of the cross anymore?
Apostasy is rampant in America’s churches and this land needs to return to days of old when America feared God, held dearly to family values, and read the Bible with a receiving heart willing to repent.
To use evangelical liberal or evangelical homosexual in the same sentence is an oxymoron. A person cannot be both because to be evangelical, one has to be saved. In order to be saved forgiveness of sins has to have occurred. In order to receive forgiveness of sins and salvation, repentance, or the turning away from sin and turning to God is necessary.
Churches in America need to wake up and realize that Satan is on the offensive and is moving rapidly through our society. We can repent and save America from this apostasy within the church and the blasphemy that is wielded at the pulpits throughout our land. These evangelicals leaders need to learn that either they serve the God of the Bible or they do not. If they do, then they need to embrace God’s teachings on issues like the sin of homosexuality and not ignore the Bible.
Apostasy is uncalled for, but is here as we live in the end times. However, we will all have to give an account of ourselves when Christ returns. I sure hate to be the evangelical leaders who smeared His Holy word in the name of tolerance when that day comes!

Optimism About Gas Prices Trumps Pessimism Every Time
Optimism About Gas Prices Trumps Pessimism Every Time by Kevin Roeten
The cost of gas is exorbitant. If we want lower gas prices, there’s an easy way to do it.
How many of us wallow in our fear-mongering and still believe that any oil drilling will decimate the pristine coasts. If they’re not worried about beaches, there worried about OPEC. Or about how using more oil will produce more CO2 and produce more anthropogenic global warming? Or that we’re rapidly approaching “peak-oil”? “Use” or “lose” 68 million acres of dormant leases?
How utterly gloomy.
We know that drilling is prohibited on 85% of America’s offshore waters. From sources of James Inhofe (Senate Committee on Environment) the Pacific and Atlantic regions of the Outer Continental Shelf hold an estimated 14 billion barrels of oil which are equivalent to over 25 years of imports from Saudi Arabia. ANWR is estimated to contain at least 10 billion barrels of oil, or 15 years of imports from Saudi Arabia. If Clinton hadn’t vetoed legislation on ANWR oil 10 years ago, today we would have 1 million barrels/day coming in from ANWR. Even conservative estimates (MMS) show that between 1.57-2.78 billion barrels of oil exist off Florida’s coast.
The Canadian Oil Sands contain 179.2 billion barrels of proven oil reserves. The Energy Independence and Security Act prohibits federal agencies from procuring an alternative fuel produced from non-conventional petroleum sources. Today, eight countries (India, Vietnam, Spain, Malaysia, Norway, Cuba, China and Canada) are exploring, leasing or drilling for oil in the Cuban waters just 45 miles off the coast of Florida. In the Green River Formation (Colorado, Wyoming, and Utah), the Rand Corporation estimates that 1.1 trillion barrels are recoverable at prices as low as $35-$48/barrel within the first 12 years of commercial scale production.
The reason Democrats use for not drilling is hypothetical environmental problems. Major spills from drilling platforms actually are non-existent. Two massive category-5 hurricanes (Katrina and Rita) recently plowed through the heart of 3000 Gulf of Mexico oil and gas platforms just 4 weeks apart (Investors’ Business Daily). There were no problems, mainly due to the new ‘breakaway’ technology used by rigs. New automatic cutoff valves eliminate any spill.
Norway and Britain have been in the North Sea for decades without incident. The National Academy of Sciences found that 63% of petroleum found in North American waters comes from natural seepage from the ocean floor. The Department of the Interior said, “Since 1985 more than 7 billion barrels of oil have been produced from federal waters with less than 0.001 % spilled.” It’s likely that more oil has leaked from transportation vehicles than was spilled in the oceans. Almost all offshore oil rigs have become havens for fish and marine wildlife.
How many forget that when Prudhoe Bay was first opened up, OPEC’s price of oil plummeted. When ANWR begins drilling and producing, expect a major drop in oil prices. With another supplier to America, the law of Supply and Demand really kicks in. OPEC controls most oil pricing, but is not controlled by any one government. And, caribou in Alaska are increasing because of warmer temperatures near the pipeline.
Per Inhofe, Democrats seem to want to shift the blame when they claim there are 68 million acres in America where oil companies have bought the rights to drill, but are just sitting on those leases. Recent oil finding techniques reveal where there is no oil to be had. “Between 2002-2007, 52% of all exploration wells...were dry. By opening the nation’s access to the reserves of the Outer Continental Shelf, ANWR, and Oil Shale, we could cut our nations trade deficit nearly in half.” The Energy Information Association says the US spent $327 billion in 2007 to import oil. These oil imports were 46% of the nation’s $711 billion trade deficit in 2007.
It’s interesting that a very close study of the last 500,000 years has revealed that all anthropogenic global warming has been almost non-existent and warming and cooling is directly due to the sun. It’s even more mystifying how overlays of CO2 concentrations with temperature have usually shown CO2 levels increasing after the temperature spikes.
But the Democrats in Congress refuse to increase our supply of energy, and our gas prices keep rising. Recent polls from Rasmussen reveal that 67% of Americans want to drill offshore, while only 18% do not. But because of regulations in America, OPEC realizes that gas prices can be skewed. In the US gas averages $4.02/ gal, while in China it’s $2.84/gal, in Indonesia it’s $2.44, in Mexico it’s $2.65, and in Venezuela it’s only $0.20 (Inhofe). And, you don’t get natural seepage from the ocean floor by reaching “peak-oil”. Anybody ever heard of “abiotic”?
It seems that even rogue corporations like OPEC still have to bow to the law of Supply and Demand if Congress allows America to drill for available oil.

Obama: wolf in sheep's clothing
Obama: wolf in sheep’s clothing
Felicia Benamon Felicia Benamon
July 26, 2008
“Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them.” — Matthew 7: 15, 16 (NIV)
Barack Obama bellowed before a crowd in Germany, “The walls between the countries with the most and those with the least cannot stand. The walls between races and tribes, natives and immigrants, Christians and Muslims and Jews cannot stand.”
Obama’s words do not speak of freedom. A coming together under one banner, the banner of “working together,” Mr. Obama believes that the world has a responsibility to unite.
Newsflash, no country will want to drop their way of life to unite under one cause (or rather it is hype). That is what Barack Obama is advocating...to drastically change the way we are used to living.
Each country is entitled to have a defining border to defend its land. Each country has a right to say that a person who has violated its laws and is not officially a citizen, should be deported. Each country has a right to separately deal with problems as they come.
Every country is vastly different in traditions, the way in which they govern, etc.
No one should be pushed to forge a bond between religions, or rather, to water down their faiths to merge in one mind set. Christianity, Islam, and Judaism...the ideology of these religions vary from each other and an effort to break down the walls will be futile.
True, every human being is a child of God and one should embark on friendships with someone of a different faith, but that doesn’t mean that one should forget about the tenets of their faith. Faith largely guides one’s steps in life.
If you do not believe such an effort is being made to erode the differences in the major faiths, pay close attention to the “interfaith” movement that is making its way throughout America and the world. That said, all faiths are not equal and a joining at the hip of world religions to achieve world peace is not the answer.
Free will. That’s what Jesus Christ offers mankind. Mankind must not be suckered into committing to more and more when much has already been given and squandered.
As long as there are corrupt dictators and corrupt regimes making life miserable for their citizens, this world will be in turmoil. Unless corruption and evil is eliminated, then committing more money, resources, energy, and human sacrifice will not make a difference.
Barack Obama must respect the right of the individual to make decisions as to religious pursuits. He must respect the right of a country to make decisions as to how it will handle its welfare and its way of life. So long as governments don’t oppress their people, Obama shouldn’t ignore the traits that make us different and unique.
Considering the wreck the world is in these days and what is transpiring on the horizon, Barack Obama’s words are ominous. It may seem that he is playing “uniter of the world” but Obama’s actions should he become president would further divide and then weaken and disable America.
Barack Obama’s Global Poverty Act, S. 2433, is scheduled to be hashed out in the Senate in the near future. During a weak economy, Obama is proposing through this bill that the US give more money to help poverty stricken nations. America has given enough in terms of humanitarianism. If anything, we need to put the focus back on America, and help our own people. And should this bill pass, who knows how much leverage the UN will have in American affairs.
Unemployment is at 5% and we have a presidential candidate that is more concerned with other nations’ problems. Again, unless mass corruption abates, then the problem of starvation, ethnic cleansing (mass murder), and poverty will continue. No amount of money will make the problem disappear. After all, shouldn’t this quote mean something?:
“Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”
There is a sizeable amount of Americans who are dissatisfied with both nominees for president. No matter what the media would have us all to believe (that Americans are largely set on Obama), people are not happy with either parties or the fact that the media is one-sided in that Obama is getting an extreme amount of coverage.
The reason Barack Obama is able to make such remarks in Germany is because voters are largely ignorant to what changes may occur if Obama were to be voted in as president of the United States.
We must be educated as to what changes are being put into place that will cause us to lose the very nation we have enjoyed for 232 years. We are on the brink of collapsing and there are those who are working to speed up our demise.
It’s time to make some noise; we have 4 months left until the general election. One way Americans can get their power back is to be INFORMED and then use the information to fight back...fight we must.

BIBLE VERSE OF THE WEEK
“Is not God in the heights of heaven? And see how lofty are the highest stars! Yet you say, ‘What does God know? Does he judge through such darkness? Thick clouds veil him, so he does not see us as he goes about in the vaulted heavens.’ Will you keep to the old path that evil men have trod? They were carried off before their time, their foundations washed away by a flood. They said to God, ‘Leave us alone! What can the Almighty do to us?’ Yet it was he who filled their houses with good things, so I stand aloof from the counsel of the wicked. “The righteous see their ruin and rejoice; the innocent mock them, saying, ‘Surely our foes are destroyed, and fire devours their wealth.’ “Submit to God and be at peace with him; in this way prosperity will come to you. Accept instruction from his mouth and lay up his words in your heart. If you return to the Almighty, you will be restored.

Water Boarding Does NOT Fit the Definition of Torture
Water Boarding Does NOT Fit the Definition of Torture by Kevin Roeten
Do you worry about “water boarding”? Have we decided the Army Field Manual (AFM) will dictate American morals and change the definition of torture? Thorndike-Barnhart defines torture as “The act of inflicting very severe pain; a very severe pain or suffering--agony.” It seems the word torture is used frequently by those opposed to Bush, or his techniques to eliminate more American deaths.
It is known for a fact that terrorists such as Hussein (as well as others) have used torture throughout history to attempt to gain information. Routine techniques employed by Hussein include the savage removal of appendages, electrical shock, removal of tongues, ripping out eyes, and even a few instances of putting whole people into shredders. Those kinds of instances of severe pain are what the dictionary defines as torture.
“Water boarding” is a technique used on terrorists that simulates actual drowning, but is painless and does not inflict pain as in the above techniques. As Ronald Kessler (Washington correspondent) explains, “Despite a drumbeat of media reports about it, the CIA has only used water boarding as an interrogation tactic on only three terrorists and has not used the technique since 2003.”
It’s no wonder since the media started disclosing that water boarding is being used, the technique has become virtually ineffective. It’s obvious if terrorists know they could be subjected to fake drowning, they will be trained not to respond to water boarding.
As can be seen from several sci-fi television spots, any number of non-intrusive (non-pain) methods of obtaining desired information could be used. They include drugs, mind wipe, alternative reality—you name it. It’s even likely that some have these techniques have already been used by other countries.
We know that approved techniques (not torture), was used in questioning Zubaydah (bin Laden’s chief of operations), and Khalid Sheik Mohammed (mastermind of 9/11). These techniques worked, and led to a takedown of other al-Qaeda operatives planning more attacks on American soil.
Before any of the techniques presently used, the Justice Department reviewed the interrogation procedures and determined they were legally permissible. According to NewsMax sources, fewer that 1/3 of the terrorist captives was subjected to coercive interrogation techniques. What some journalists don’t understand is that certain non-violent techniques are spelled out in the “AFM” as an option when questioning hesitant or uncooperative sources.
Per Ronald Kessler (Washington correspondent), the CIA briefed the chairs, ranking members, and all staff directors of the Senate and the House intelligence committees on the details of the procedures used. But Kessler admits Congress has twice had the chance to ban water boarding, but has twice declined to do so. Actually, Congress only banned “degrading, inhuman, or cruel treatment”. This was in the Detainee Treatment Act of 2005, and the Military Commissions Act of 2006. Maybe Congress knows something that they’re not willing to share.
Torture can be described many ways. One can be put through a shredder and given unimaginable pain, or one can be tickled until one can’t stand it any more. It’s fortunate our government knows where to draw the line and not allow actual physical abuse. It’s time we all stopped labeling behavior as something different that the dictionary defines.
Of course the next terrorist attack on American soil will kill someone’s grandparents, cousins, sisters, brothers, dad, or mom. To stop that next terrorist attack, it’s quite good that Americans can get information without physical abuse to those killers. Your family thanks you more than you know.

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. The Catastrophe of Regulating Global Warming
The Catastrophe of Regulating Global Warming by Kevin Roeten
“Man-made” global warming is more complicated than ever. The real problems lie in the fact that it may be 20-50 years before some believe there’s enough definitive evidence that exists. Many want to react immediately to a situation that has existed since the beginning of time itself. The following are the facts we know. Your response indicates whether you are open to facts or not.
Major known factors in global warming are 1) CO2 production[man-made], 2) Sunspot activity[natural], 3) cloud formation[natural], 3) cyclic variations in earth’s orbit around the sun[natural], 4) sun’s x-rays, cosmic rays, and magnetic fields[natural], and 5) sun variability[natural].
But a look at each clears the field. It has been scientifically determined that CO2 concentrations have been 20 times higher in the past than today. It is also known that man produces < 3% of global warming CO2. The other 97% of global warming gases (H2O) is not controlled by man.
More importantly, extremely accurate overlays of all past temperature increases have shown that any temperature increase almost always precedes a CO2 increase. The question of whether a temperature increase actually causes a CO2 increase seems moot. Besides, the scientific community has long since realized that correlation is not causation.
The well-known 11-year “Schwabe” sunspot cycle can be noted from the diagram by Hathaway (NASA/ MSFC). Sunspots are currently at a minimum, and the usual barrage of x-rays, cosmic rays, and strong magnetic fields from sunspots are also at a minimum.
Danish researchers (Svendsmark & Friis-Christensen) experimentally verified the physical mechanism by which cosmic rays affect cloud cover. It is known that clouds cool the climate by reflecting ~20% of incoming solar radiation. But there are few cosmic rays with no sunspots.
Each ice age lasts about 100,000 years, but is punctuated by “interglacials” or warmer periods that we are in now. It can be seen this ongoing cycle matches cyclic variations in earth’s orbit around the sun, which is definitely not a perfect circle.
According to NASA temperature sensing instruments Mars, Jupiter, Pluto, and Titan (moon of Neptune) is actually undergoing a measure of global warming with the earth. It is also known that our sun is actually a variable star of ~0.4%.
Per Senator James Inhofe(R/ Ok), the truly scary part of global warming regulations is this Spring the government has been deciding on enacting the Climate Security Act, or the Lieberman-Warner Bill. Per the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), the bill would contain mandatory provisions in the name of climate change that would impose a $1.2 trillion global warming tax ($4,000/ person).
In the meantime the US would likely be relegated to third-world status because of millions of lost jobs; higher gas, power and heating bills; and more expensive consumer goods. Even the Energy Information Administration (EIA) says just this bill would result in a 9.5% drop in manufacturing output. Even Senator George Voinovich (R-Oh) warned that this bill “could result in the most massive bureaucratic intrusion into the lives of Americans since the creation of the IRS”. By reducing CO2 emissions by 80%, supply will be forced down and prices will be raised.
An MIT study shows the bill would raise gas prices 42% by 2020 and electricity 55% by 2015. The EPA says this meddling would cause a cumulative reduction in growth of GDP by 0.9-3.8% by 2030 (Wall Street Journal// 5/27/08). Inhofe admits the poor already face energy costs as a much higher percentage of their income than wealthier Americans. While most Americans spend ~4% of their monthly budget on heating and other energy needs, the poorest 5th of Americans spend 19%.
One can also believe the scientific community. Back a few years ago there were at least 100 scientists who signed a document saying that global warming was likely due to natural factors—not man made. Now, according to Paul Weyrich (Free Congress Foundation), there are 2000 pro-man-made global warming scientists on the UN climate change panel who claim that the issue is settled. But there are over 31,000 scientists who have signed a document saying any global warming is due to natural causes.
Many now make the case that we may indeed be in a period of global cooling. The data is so overwhelming that even the UN had to acknowledge it. So now the best thing proponents of man-made global warming can do is to suggest that global warming is taking a 10 year break on account of absence of sunspots.
Of course if one doesn’t believe public or government sources, then it’s always good to go with the pure science. Maybe man shouldn’t be denoted to cause the same things God has set in motion. Man is becoming technically astute. But he has a few limitations.

Bush Lied? What About That 550 Metric Tons of Yellow Cake, Lefty?
Bush Lied? What About That 550 Metric Tons of Yellow Cake, Lefty?
By John W. Lillpop
For too many years now, left wing morons with support and encouragement from the biased media, have made the following idiotic contribution to the debate about the war on terror, and specifically the Iraq theater:
“Bush lied, Americans died!”
Perhaps he did, but on the other hand-- it turns out that 550 metric tons of uranium yellow cake, the stuff of which “dirty bombs” can be made, have been found in Iraq.
Although there is no “reliable source” to quote on this shocker, we do have a report from the Associated Press which, despite being a wing of the DNC, nevertheless reported the following:
“The last major remnant of Saddam Hussein’s nuclear program - a huge stockpile of concentrated natural uranium - reached a Canadian port Saturday to complete a secret U.S. operation that included a two-week airlift from Baghdad and a ship voyage crossing two oceans.
“The removal of 550 metric tons of “yellow cake” - the seed material for higher-grade nuclear enrichment - was a significant step toward closing the books on Saddam’s nuclear legacy. It also brought relief to U.S. and Iraqi authorities who had worried the cache would reach insurgents or smugglers crossing to Iran to aid its nuclear ambitions.”
Seattle PI
So, if one is willing to take a risk by believing an AP story, one might conclude that there was indeed yellow cake in Iraq.
One might extrapolate even further and conclude that Bush did not, in fact, lie after all.
Quite apart from the fact that such a lie would make no logical sense, many prominent Democrats have made strong public statements in the past proclaiming their belief that Saddam did indeed have WMD.
Hillary Rodham Clinton is among those who expressed such a belief.
In addition to the new “Queen of Mean,” the following leftist luminaries weighed in against Saddam before deciding that George W. Bush was the greater evil:
Ted Kennedy, John Rockefeller, Al Gore, Carl Levin, Patty Murray, Nancy Pelosi, Joe Liberman, Barbara Boxer, Robert Byrd, Wesley Clark, Bill Clinton, Tom Daschle, John Edwards, d*** Gephart, Sandy Berger, Madeline Albright, Tom Larkin, Harry Ford, and Diane Feinstein.
The exact quotes of these political luminaries follow.
Did they all lie?
“[W]e urge you, after consulting with Congress, and consistent with the U.S. Constitution and laws, to take necessary actions (including, if appropriate, air and missile strikes on suspect Iraqi sites) to respond effectively to the threat posed by Iraq’s refusal to end its weapons of mass destruction programs.”—From a letter signed by Joe Lieberman, Dianne Feinstein, Barbara A. Milulski, Tom Daschle, & John Kerry among others on October 9, 1998
“This December will mark three years since United Nations inspectors last visited Iraq. There is no doubt that since that time, Saddam Hussein has reinvigorated his weapons programs. Reports indicate that biological, chemical and nuclear programs continue apace and may be back to pre-Gulf War status. In addition, Saddam continues to refine delivery systems and is doubtless using the cover of a licit missile program to develop longer- range missiles that will threaten the United States and our allies.”—From a December 6, 2001 letter signed by Bob Graham, Joe Lieberman, Harold Ford, & Tom Lantos among others
“Whereas Iraq has consistently breached its cease-fire agreement between Iraq and the United States, entered into on March 3, 1991, by failing to dismantle its weapons of mass destruction program, and refusing to permit monitoring and verification by United Nations inspections; Whereas Iraq has developed weapons of mass destruction, including chemical and biological capabilities, and has made positive progress toward developing nuclear weapons capabilities”—From a joint resolution submitted by Tom Harkin and Arlen Specter on July 18, 2002
“Saddam’s goal … is to achieve the lifting of U.N. sanctions while retaining and enhancing Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction programs. We cannot, we must not and we will not let him succeed.”—Madeline Albright, 1998
“(Saddam) will rebuild his arsenal of weapons of mass destruction and some day, some way, I am certain he will use that arsenal again, as he has 10 times since 1983”—National Security Adviser Sandy Berger, Feb 18, 1998
“Iraq made commitments after the Gulf War to completely dismantle all weapons of mass destruction, and unfortunately, Iraq has not lived up to its agreement.”—Barbara Boxer, November 8, 2002
“The last UN weapons inspectors left Iraq in October of 1998. We are confident that Saddam Hussein retained some stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons, and that he has since embarked on a crash course to build up his chemical and biological warfare capability. Intelligence reports also indicate that he is seeking nuclear weapons, but has not yet achieved nuclear capability.”—Robert Byrd, October 2002
“There’s no question that Saddam Hussein is a threat… Yes, he has chemical and biological weapons. He’s had those for a long time. But the United States right now is on a very much different defensive posture than we were before September 11th of 2001… He is, as far as we know, actively pursuing nuclear capabilities, though he doesn’t have nuclear warheads yet. If he were to acquire nuclear weapons, I think our friends in the region would face greatly increased risks as would we.”—Wesley Clark on September 26, 2002
“The community of nations may see more and more of the very kind of threat Iraq poses now: a rogue state with weapons of mass destruction, ready to use them or provide them to terrorists. If we fail to respond today, Saddam and all those who would follow in his footsteps will be emboldened tomorrow.”—Bill Clinton in 1998
“In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including Al Qaeda members, though there is apparently no evidence of his involvement in the terrible events of September 11, 2001. It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons. Should he succeed in that endeavor, he could alter the political and security landscape of the Middle East, which as we know all too well affects American security.”—Hillary Clinton, October 10, 2002
“Iraq is not the only nation in the world to possess weapons of mass destruction, but it is the only nation with a leader who has used them against his own people.”—Tom Daschle in 1998
“Saddam Hussein’s regime represents a grave threat to America and our allies, including our vital ally, Israel. For more than two decades, Saddam Hussein has sought weapons of mass destruction through every available means. We know that he has chemical and biological weapons. He has already used them against his neighbors and his own people, and is trying to build more. We know that he is doing everything he can to build nuclear weapons, and we know that each day he gets closer to achieving that goal.”—John Edwards, Oct 10, 2002
“The debate over Iraq is not about politics. It is about national security. It should be clear that our national security requires Congress to send a clear message to Iraq and the world: America is united in its determination to eliminate forever the threat of Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction.”—John Edwards, Oct 10, 2002
“I share the administration’s goals in dealing with Iraq and its weapons of mass destruction.”—d*** Gephardt in September of 2002
“Iraq does pose a serious threat to the stability of the Persian Gulf and we should organize an international coalition to eliminate his access to weapons of mass destruction. Iraq’s search for weapons of mass destruction has proven impossible to completely deter and we should assume that it will continue for as long as Saddam is in power.”—Al Gore, 2002
“We are in possession of what I think to be compelling evidence that Saddam Hussein has, and has had for a number of years, a developing capacity for the production and storage of weapons of mass destruction.”—Bob Graham, December 2002
“Saddam Hussein is not the only deranged dictator who is willing to deprive his people in order to acquire weapons of mass destruction.”—Jim Jeffords, October 8, 2002
“We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seeking and developing weapons of mass destruction.”—Ted Kennedy, September 27, 2002
“There is no doubt that Saddam Hussein’s regime is a serious danger, that he is a tyrant, and that his pursuit of lethal weapons of mass destruction cannot be tolerated. He must be disarmed.”—Ted Kennedy, Sept 27, 2002
“I will be voting to give the president of the United States the authority to use force - if necessary - to disarm Saddam Hussein because I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hands is a real and grave threat to our security.”—John F. Kerry, Oct 2002
“The threat of Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass destruction is real, but as I said, it is not new. It has been with us since the end of that war, and particularly in the last 4 years we know after Operation Desert Fox failed to force him to reaccept them, that he has continued to build those weapons. He has had a free hand for 4 years to reconstitute these weapons, allowing the world, during the interval, to lose the focus we had on weapons of mass destruction and the issue of proliferation.”—John Kerry, October 9, 2002
“(W)e need to disarm Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal, murderous dictator, leading an oppressive regime. We all know the litany of his offenses. He presents a particularly grievous threat because he is so consistently prone to miscalculation. ...And now he is miscalculating America’s response to his continued deceit and his consistent grasp for weapons of mass destruction. That is why the world, through the United Nations Security Council, has spoken with one voice, demanding that Iraq disclose its weapons programs and disarm. So the threat of Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass destruction is real, but it is not new. It has been with us since the end of the Persian Gulf War.”—John Kerry, Jan 23, 2003
“We begin with the common belief that Saddam Hussein is a tyrant and a threat to the peace and stability of the region. He has ignored the mandates of the United Nations and is building weapons of mass destruction and the means of delivering them.”—Carl Levin, Sept 19, 2002
“Every day Saddam remains in power with chemical weapons, biological weapons, and the development of nuclear weapons is a day of danger for the United States.”—Joe Lieberman, August, 2002
“Over the years, Iraq has worked to develop nuclear, chemical and biological weapons. During 1991 - 1994, despite Iraq’s denials, U.N. inspectors discovered and dismantled a large network of nuclear facilities that Iraq was using to develop nuclear weapons. Various reports indicate that Iraq is still actively pursuing nuclear weapons capability. There is no reason to think otherwise. Beyond nuclear weapons, Iraq has actively pursued biological and chemical weapons.U.N. inspectors have said that Iraq’s claims about biological weapons is neither credible nor verifiable. In 1986, Iraq used chemical weapons against Iran, and later, against its own Kurdish population. While weapons inspections have been successful in the past, there have been no inspections since the end of 1998. There can be no doubt that Iraq has continued to pursue its goal of obtaining weapons of mass destruction.”—Patty Murray, October 9, 2002
“As a member of the House Intelligence Committee, I am keenly aware that the proliferation of chemical and biological weapons is an issue of grave importance to all nations. Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of mass destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region and he has made a mockery of the weapons inspection process.”—Nancy Pelosi, December 16, 1998
“Even today, Iraq is not nearly disarmed. Based on highly credible intelligence, UNSCOM [the U.N. weapons inspectors] suspects that Iraq still has biological agents like anthrax, botulinum toxin, and clostridium perfringens in sufficient quantity to fill several dozen bombs and ballistic missile warheads, as well as the means to continue manufacturing these deadly agents. Iraq probably retains several tons of the highly toxic VX substance, as well as sarin nerve gas and mustard gas. This agent is stored in artillery shells, bombs, and ballistic missile warheads. And Iraq retains significant dual-use industrial infrastructure that can be used to rapidly reconstitute large-scale chemical weapons production.”—Ex-Un Weapons Inspector Scott Ritter in 1998
“There is unmistakable evidence that Saddam Hussein is working aggressively to develop nuclear weapons and will likely have nuclear weapons within the next five years. And that may happen sooner if he can obtain access to enriched uranium from foreign sources—something that is not that difficult in the current world. We also should remember we have always underestimated the progress Saddam has made in development of weapons of mass destruction.”—John Rockefeller, Oct 10, 2002
“Saddam’s existing biological and chemical weapons capabilities pose a very real threat to America, now. Saddam has used chemical weapons before, both against Iraq’s enemies and against his own people. He is working to develop delivery systems like missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles that could bring these deadly weapons against U.S. forces and U.S. facilities in the Middle East.”—John Rockefeller, Oct 10, 2002
“Whether one agrees or disagrees with the Administration’s policy towards Iraq, I don’t think there can be any question about Saddam’s conduct. He has systematically violated, over the course of the past 11 years, every significant UN resolution that has demanded that he disarm and destroy his chemical and biological weapons, and any nuclear capacity. This he has refused to do. He lies and cheats; he snubs the mandate and authority of international weapons inspectors; and he games the system to keep buying time against enforcement of the just and legitimate demands of the United Nations, the Security Council, the United States and our allies. Those are simply the facts.”—Henry Waxman, Oct 10, 2002

Issues That Matter - Spreading the word of Truth
Dear Readers:
In today’s society we are seeing an ever increasing hatred for traditional
thinkng Americans - particularly conservative Christians. In my book, Issues
That Matter: America’s Moral Battleground I lay out what is wrong with the
most controversial issues facing our great land today. We see a rampant
abortion rate with virtually no end in sight. We are seeing a growing
hostility towards beliver’s who stand up for traditional marriage and for
creation rather than the man made myth of evolution and millions of years.
As a Southern Baptist, I hold dearly my belief that Jesus Christ is the Son
of God who was born of a virgin, died, and was ressurected on the third day
just as the prophet Isaiah said He would. Yet, his belief is under constant
attack by Hollywood producers who, ever once in while, claim great findings
to disprove the Bible. Then we all find out the finding were false and the
whole thing was created for financial advancement.
I want to invite you to obtain a copy of my book today and help fight the
culture war that rages in America this day. There are great oranizations out
there that fight daily for religious freedom and to stop abortion, save
traditional marriage, and proclaim the gospel message at the same time. I
name the most popular of these in the last pages of Issues That Matter.
I urge you to get a copy today and tell a friend as well so that we can fight the culture war and proclaim the gospel together as fellow believers. My book would ge a great gift for a friend as it contains a chapter on salvation through Jesus Christ.
You can buy a copy at my website, www.standfortruthonline.com in the upper
left hand corner or you can get it at this address:
Issues That Matter: America’s Moral Battleground by Rob Hood
http://www.iuniverse.com/bookstore/book_detail.asp?&isbn=0-595-35667-2
I am also inviting you to take a stand with me as a fellow believer in Christ. Together we can bring back traditional biblical moral values, respect, and integrity that this country once had. Riddled with immorality, deceit, persecution, crime, and disrespect, America has changed in the last 50 years, but we don’t have to sit back and watch our country rot to the ground. We can renovate America, rebuild our communities, re-install the word of God, and instill Christian based Biblical values into society and bring America back to where it needs to be. I invite you to my own website where you get news, commentary, and events based upon these principles. Help me change America back to normal and save our great country!
Thank you for your time and I wish you well in your battle to proclaim the
Gospel and save traditional, conservative Christianity in America.
Sincerely,
Rob Hood

Gun control is the Obama National Agenda
Gun control is the Obama National Agenda
The gun-control views of presumptive Democratic Presidential nominee, Barack Obama, are an “obamination” of the Second Amendment. Voting Americans must be aware of where exactly this candidate for president is positioned on gun-control issues and his unabashedly liberal stand. Gun control is the Obama agenda as glassy-eyed Obama-bobble-heads nod at whatever sounds good in campaign speeches chanting the undefined campaign mantra of “change.”
Obama’s call for gun-control change is to re-impose the failed Clinton semi-auto Gun Ban? Obama seeks to make it a felony for a gun owner whose firearm was not securely stored in their home. Change is not going back to repealed gun legislation. Not a fresh new idea but the same old anti-gun agenda that unsuspecting Americans can expect from the candidate on the Obama-Nation tour coming soon to your hometown. Protect the family, lock the doors, and yes, protect your firearms because in the Obama Nation, bearing arms would no longer be simply every law-abiding adult citizen’s right, but a felony.
Obama would ban guns from young Americans who are old enough to fight terrorists in Iraq at the age of 18 saying they are not adult enough to handle a handgun to protect their family at home until they reach the age of 21 - and pass a gun training course.
Obama’s anti-gun view is clearly seen as he commented on the Supreme Court’s ruling striking down Washington D.C.’s decades long gun ban which he supported saying that the courts opinion striking down the capital’s handgun ban concedes the right to gun ownership but is “not absolute” and is “subject to reasonable regulations.” Obama as president will appoint liberal anti gun Supreme Court judges and seek to over turn this historic decision.
The “reasonable” legislation he would ban are Right to Carry (RTC) Laws. Barack Obama has said that he is “not in favor of concealed weapons,” and that “I think that creates a potential atmosphere where more innocent people could (get, shot during) altercations.” However, restrictive carry laws have been around for decades but have not ever reduced crime – as seen in Washington, D.C. Whereas in Florida, the homicide rate has decreased 41% since the state adopted its RTC law - 20 percentage points more of a decrease than the national rate.
The presidential primary season is finally over, and it is now time for gun owners to take a careful look at just where apparent nominee Barack Obama stands on issues related to the Second Amendment. During the primaries, Obama tried to hide behind vague statements of support for “sportsmen” or unfounded claims of general support for the right to keep and bear arms.
Don’t Believe Obama!
But his real record, based on votes taken, political associations, and long standing positions, shows that Barack Obama is a serious threat to Second Amendment liberties. Don’t listen to his campaign rhetoric! Look instead to what he has said and done during his entire political career.
FACT: Barack Obama voted to allow reckless lawsuits designed to bankrupt the firearms industry.
FACT: Barack Obama wants to re-impose the failed and discredited Clinton Gun Ban.
FACT: Barack Obama voted to ban almost all rifle ammunition commonly used for hunting and sport shooting.
FACT: Barack Obama has endorsed a complete ban on handgun ownership.
FACT: Barack Obama supports local gun bans in Chicago, Washington, D.C., and other cities.
FACT: Barack Obama voted to uphold local gun bans and the criminal prosecution of people who use firearms in self-defense.
FACT: Barack Obama supports gun owner licensing and gun registration.
FACT: Barack Obama refused to sign a friend-of-the-court Brief in support of individual Second Amendment rights in the Heller case.
FACT: Barack Obama opposes Right to Carry laws.
FACT: Barack Obama was a member of the Board of Directors of the Joyce Foundation, the leading source of funds for anti-gun organizations and “research.”
FACT: Barack Obama supported a proposal to ban gun stores within 5 miles of a school or park, which would eliminate almost every gun store in America.
FACT: Barack Obama voted not to notify gun owners when the state of Illinois did records searches on them.
FACT: Barack Obama voted against a measure to lower the Firearms Owners Identification card age minimum from 21 to 18, a measure designed to assist young people in the military.
FACT: Barack Obama favors a ban on standard capacity magazines.
FACT: Barack Obama supports mandatory micro-stamping.
FACT: Barack Obama supports mandatory waiting periods.
FACT: Barack Obama supports repeal of the Tiahrt Amendment, which prohibits information on gun traces collected by the BATFE from being used in reckless lawsuits against firearm dealers and manufacturers.
FACT: Barack Obama supports one-gun-a-month sales restrictions.
FACT: Barack Obama supports a ban on inexpensive handguns.
FACT: Barack Obama supports a ban on the resale of police issued firearms, even if the money is going to police departments for replacement equipment.
FACT: Barack Obama supports mandatory firearm training requirements for all gun owners and a ban on gun ownership for persons under the age of 21.
The Right to Bear arms will provide ammunition in the election for President of the United States this fall. The Obama-nominators have already began bobbing their heads in agreement on whatever rhetoric the president of “change” offers while gun owners of all voting colors - red, blue, or purple – decide if Senator Barack Obama is hiding his record and ultimately his plan of change to the Second Amendment of the Constitution.
