Q: Did Adam have a belly button?

A: A belly button is actually a scar.  It’s where you were attached to your mother’s womb through the umbilical cord.  After you’re born, the cord is cut, and you’re left with this very obvious scar.

In other words, a belly button is proof you were born of a woman!

Now think about this: Adam and Eve weren’t born this way.  They were direct acts of creation by God.  Adam was made directly from dust; Eve was created directly from Adam’s side. Thus, there’s no reason to believe Adam or Eve would have had such a scar.

Even our belly button should remind us that we’re children of Adam, the first man who rebelled against his Creator—thus we’re all sinners in need of salvation .

Taking Risks

To become messengers of the Gospel, we have to move outside our comfort zones.

Eric Lubbert, one of our church’s Elders, preached the sermon Sunday at the
Black Rock-Long Ridge Congregational Church, in North Stamford, Connecticut.

Speaking of his own experience, Mr. Lubbert noted that it’s too easy in our
Christian lives to become comfortable, to settle into a routine of going to
church on Sunday, and going little farther than that.  If, however, we are to
heed Jesus’s command, we must break out of those comfort zones and take risks to
bring the Good News to our family, friends, and co-workers.

“Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has
been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them
in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching
them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always,
to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20)

That doesn’t mean that we must stand up and preach to others in every gathering. 
It does mean that we must both be open to opportunities, and be prepared to
witness in appropriate ways: invite people to attend Sunday services and special
functions at church; invite new church visitors to dinner at your home; tell
them about the positive difference that Christ has made in your life. 

Above all, live a decent, kind, thoughtful life in which you think first, not of
your own self-interest, but of what is the just, kind, and civilized way to deal
with other people.

“Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on
its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.  In the same way, let
your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your
Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:15-16)

“What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds?
Can such faith save him? Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and
daily food. If one of you says to him, “Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well
fed,” but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? In the same
way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” (James
2:14-17)

Nothing will happen until you, figuratively speaking, put your feet into the
water.  As in the Book of Joshua, when the Israelites were preparing to cross
the Jordan, at flood stage, to claim the Promised Land:

“And the LORD said to Joshua, “Today I will begin to exalt you in the eyes of
all Israel, so they may know that I am with you as I was with Moses.  Tell the
priests who carry the ark of the covenant: ‘When you reach the edge of the
Jordan’s waters, go and stand in the river.’ “ (Joshua 3:7-8)

“And as soon as the priests who carry the ark of the LORD -the Lord of all the
earth-set foot in the Jordan, its waters flowing downstream will be cut off and
stand up in a heap.” (Joshua 3:13)

Give control of your life to the Holy Spirit, which empowered the Disciples to
go forth and speak effectively to all sorts of people.

How can we do this?

� Ask God to fill us with the Holy Spirit;

� Ask God for boldness;

� Write a prayer list of people and expend the time and energy to get to know
them, their needs and fears, and ways that you can help them;

� Conduct a Bible study with your spouse and your children;

� Be available to help people when their needs arise; look for opportunities to
help;

� Serve people; follow the example Jesus set when the Apostles asked who would
be ranked highest in the Lord’s Kingdom; in response, Jesus washed their feet to
make the point the he who is highest must humble himself and become a servant.

� Discover and use the gifts that God has given you; employ them to the glory
of God;

� Listen for the voice of God, those sudden intuitions or inspirations to help
someone that pop into your mind; heed God’s messages.

It’s Time to Worry about Global COOLING

Solar scientists predict that, by 2020, the sun will be starting into its weakest solar cycle of the past two centuries. They say this will likely lead to unusually cool conditions on Earth. It is also predicted that this cool period will go much longer than the normal 11 year cycle, as the Little Ice Age did. The climate threat is actually cooling, especially to countries like Canada. On the northern limit to agriculture in the world, very little cooling would likely destroy much of its food crops.

The Little Ice Age—the coldest period in the past 1500 years—corresponded perfectly with the Maunder Minimum. There was virtually no sunspot activity for almost seven decades in the Maunder Minimum(per Willie Soon/ Harvard/Astrophysics). It turns out that for those 60-70 years the northern half of our globe was in a deep freeze. The New York harbor froze, allowing walkers to journey from Manhattan to Staten Island, and the Vikings abandoned Greenland--a once verdant land that became tundra. In that Little Ice Age, Finland lost 1/3 of its population and Iceland ½.

In the well-known 11-year “Schwabe” sunspot cycle, the output of the sun varies by about 0.1%. Sunspots are violent storms on the surface of the sun. Marine productivity and total irradiance match very well with records that have been kept for centuries on visible sunspots. Hundreds of studies of sunspots and earthly climate indicators(tree rings in Russia’s Kola Peninsula, to water levels of the Nile) show exactly the same thing—that the sun drives climate change.

Even though it has been discovered that the sun is brighter now than anytime in the past 8000 years, the increase in solar output was not calculated to be sufficient to cause all of the past century’s modest warming. But that amplifier was discovered(starting in 2002) with scientific papers from Veizer, Shaviv, Carslaw, and most recently Svendsmark(Danish National Space Agency).

All these scientists have proven(particularly w/Svendsmark) that the sun’s protective solar wind(from sunspots) blows away deep-space cosmic rays. With fewer sunspots there is less solar wind, more cosmic rays, and more cloud formation from those cosmic rays. More cloud formation means more cooling effect on the planet.

In a 2003 poll, 2/3 of more than 530 climate scientists from 27 countries did not believe greenhouse gases were the main reason for global warming. In fact, overlays of CO2 variations show little correlation with earth’s climate on long, medium, and even short time scales. The science is nowhere near settled.

Nigel Weiss(Mathematical Astrophysics/Cambridge) states that “Variable behavior of the sun is an obvious explanation.” He admits that we are now living in a period of abnormally high solar activity, and that these hyperactive periods do not last long(50-100 years), then you get a crash. “It’s a boom-bust system, and I would expect a crash soon.” And when the crash occurs, the Earth can cool dramatically.

Dr. Kukla(Czechoslovakian Academy of Sciences) say he and many others realize that global warming always precedes an ice age. Each lasts about 100,000 years, punctuated by briefer, warmer periods called interglacials.  We are in an interglacial now. This ongoing cycle closely matches cyclic variations in Earth’s orbit around the sun. Kukla says “The relationship is just too clear and consistent to allow reasonable doubt. It’s either that, or climate drives orbit, and that just doesn’t make sense.”

No one knows when a ‘crash’ will occur, but scientists expect it soon. Mainly because the sun’s polar field is now at its weakest since measurements began in the 1950’s.  A deep crash last occurred in the 17th century—and it was the Little Ice Age, or the Maunder Minimum. “Having a ‘crash’ would certainly allow us to pin down the sun’s true level of influence on the earth’s climate,” concludes Dr. Weiss. “Then we will be able to act on fact, rather than from fear.”

It’s not likely greenhouse ‘gassers’ will be converted in 12 years. They’ll be busy looking for something humans have done to make it so cold.

What’s Happening with Hate Crimes Legislation and Action Steps

Q: Can speciation occur quickly?

A: If the account of Noah’s Ark in the Bible is true, then two of every kind of land animal (and seven of some) came off Noah’s Ark in the Middle East. For instance, two members of the dog kind walked off the Ark. Then, as the number of dogs increased, eventually the population split up and different groups formed.

As the gene pool was split up, different combinations of genes—inherited from the original dogs—would end up in different groups. Thus, different species would form, such as dingoes, wolves, and so on.

Evolutionists have often insisted that such a process happens slowly, and therefore, the Bible can’t be right when it says that the land animals came off the Ark only about 4,300 years ago.

But in the journal Science, a report stated:

“These examples say that natural selection can cause a population to change very quickly and hint that speciation could [occur] very quickly …”
Once again, true operational science confirms the biblical history. The account of Noah’s Ark in the Bible fits with real observations, including natural selection and speciation.

Proof, Once Again, that Homosexuality is Forgivable

Homosexuality. It has been around since Biblical days and still shows prominence in today’s society. The debate today is not only whether homosexuality is genetic or simply a lifestyle choice, but whether people of the same sex have the same civil rights in marriage as everyone else. Biased scientists have been looking for that “gay gene” for a long time and have confirmed that it either does not exist or remains to be found. I have to inform those “scientists” that a “gay gene” will never be found simply because homosexuality is a lifestyle choice either deliberately or subconsciously. Perhaps something happened in the life of a child that triggered a negative response to people of the opposite sex.? I don’t have these type of answers and apparently neither do modern psychologists who usually are biased in favor of homosexuals anyway.

However I do have another answer.  The answer lies in the Book of Genesis where God created Adam and then created a mate for him called Eve who was a woman. The purpose of the mate was primarily companionship since Adam was the only human in existence at the time, but God did give the command to be fruitful and multiply. In the beginning, God created a perfect family. Because of sin (after Adam and Eve ate of the fruit) the institution of family has been decaying. Homosexual marriage is not only unethical, but is unbiblical according to God’s original plan for mankind.

All throughout the Bible, sexual sin of any kind is labeled as adultery and evil - especially homosexuality, bestiality, and prostitution. However, there is an answer for these sins and how to have them removed and have a new life without these lifestyles. The answer in Jesus Christ. Many on the left have slandered the organization Exodus International because of their stance for a new found life in Christ after living a life of homosexuality.

Great News again! This story that follows is really going to shatter the world of the left wing homosexuality supporters. The editor of Young Gay America, Michael Glatze, has announced that he is no longer gay after having received Jesus Christ as his savior according to numerous reports in the real media. This is a story that NBC, ABC, CNN, PBS, and the New York Times will not touch with a nine foot pole. Outside of talk radio and several religious broadcasts, you will never hear this story in the mainstream media and that really bothers me that the news media is so anti-Christ and anti-conservative.

In a report from One News Now ( www.onenewsnow.com ), Mr. Glatze admitted that homosexuality blinds those who are living that lifestyle from the real truth which ultimately led him to search for deeper meaning and found it with Christ. The once gay rights support has now turned Christian. Mr. Glatze also admits he would take back the things said in a pro-gay forum with Young Gay America magazine and further admitted that homosexuality is nothing more than “lust and pornography wrapped into one”. Mr. Glatze, in the end, that “"Coming out” from beneath the influence of the homosexual “mindset,” writes Glatze, was “the most liberating, beautiful and astonishing thing” he has ever experienced.
