Monkeys make alot of Noise...

Q: Since some monkeys make a lot of noise and can even use simple sign language, is it possible they might ever learn to speak?

A: It’s true that some monkeys and apes, lured along by rewards, have been able to learn what might be called a simple sign language. But it’s been discovered that monkeys lack the key principle common to all human languages—something called “phrase structure grammar.”

An example of phrase structure grammar would be a sentence that uses the words “if” and “then.” These two words enable us to communicate opinions and complex social ideas, as there are many concepts that an unstructured string of words could never communicate.

Unsurprisingly, the discovery that monkeys lack this key ability has dashed some scientists’ hopes that monkeys could be trained to master a complex language.

No matter how hard evolutionists try to make apes and monkeys our relatives, they always end up finding themselves at a loss for words (excuse the pun). Only humans have the ability to communicate using complex grammar patterns, because God made man in His image with the ability to communicate with Him—and with each other—starting from the very beginning.

BIBLE VERSE OF THE WEEK

Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

Death and History?

Q: What does death have to do with history?

A: If a person believes the earth has a history of hundreds of millions of years, then they have to accept that a history of millions of years of death, disease, violence, and suffering led up to man’s existence. The reason for this is that those who believe in millions of years think that the fossil record (in which they see those supposed millions of years) was laid down over this huge amount of time—and the fossil record is a record of death, disease, violence, and suffering.

But the Bible makes it clear that death is an intrusion—an enemy. There was no death of animals or man before Adam sinned, as at the end of the sixth day of creation, God pronounced everything “very good.” What this means is that if a Christian accepts the history of millions of years of death before man, they’re telling the world that the Bible’s history is wrong!

In other words, the Bible’s history of death is incompatible with the history of death given by those who accept “millions of years.” The Bible is Truth—which means one can’t logically believe in millions of years.

Politics...

Politics and the Spirit of Christmas
By Thomas E. Brewton

The socialistic welfare state is extolled by liberal-socialistic-progressives
as more Christian then Christianity, because the welfare state purports to help
the needy.  So did Hitler’s National Socialism.

Traditional Christmas spirit, depicted in Charles Dickens’s A Christmas
Carol
, was the warmth of family gatherings, friendship, and loving kindness
to everyone.

Today, however, many people insist that socialism IS Christianity.  It’s
certainly true that the early churches established by the Apostle Paul grew
rapidly, because people found there the Christian love and fellowship, as well
as support for the poor, sick, elderly, and disabled, that was available
nowhere else.

The socialist political state, however, is expressly atheistic and
materialistic.  There can therefore be no identity between Christianity and
socialism, simply on the superficial basis that they nominally espouse some of
the same objectives.

The collectivized compulsion of the socialistic state is exemplified by
bureaucratic rules mandating certain conduct, described in tens of millions of
regulations.

The spirit of Christmas is written in every individual human heart.  We must
soften our hearts and listen to God’s commands.  We must look inward and ask
ourselves what is the right thing to do.  Going to the Federal rule books is no
substitute.

From the purely practical viewpoint, there is also the historical fact that,
before the New Deal in this country, those sorts of social needs were better
cared for by families, churches, emigrant societies, the mutual-support
organizations found in every community, and local governments, without the vast
social destruction of the welfare state.  Before 1933 there was, for example,
no society-wide illegitimacy or single-parent problem and no vast horde of
people who, for three of four generations, never sought work, preferring to
make living on welfare their life’s career.

Caring for the poor, elderly, sick, and disabled ought to be individual
Christian responsibilities of families, churches, emigrant societies, and local
governments (towns preferably, but no higher than the state level).  Caring
should flow from the desire of every individual to love God and therefore to
reflect God’s love in dealings with everyone else.

Caring concern for others, a central aspect of our Judeo-Christian heritage,
ought to be an every-day matter.  It should be especially prominent in our
minds at Christmas time.

In the past, such things were moral responsibilities.  Today they are political
issues, made so by the socialistic political state.  It becomes too easy for
people to shirk their moral responsibilities by objecting sourly that they’ve
“already given at the office” via confiscatory taxes.

The socialistic welfare-state is no substitute for the spirit of Christmas.

The Real Meaning of Christmas...

This year, read and discuss the real meaning of Christmas with your family, friends, and most importantly, your children:

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

Isaiah 9:6-7

----------------------------

In the sixth month, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.” Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end.” “How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?” The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be barren is in her sixth month. For nothing is impossible with God.” “I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May it be to me as you have said.” Then the angel left her.

Luke 1:26-38

----------------------------

This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit. Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly. But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”

Matthew 1: 18-21

----------------------------

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men”.

And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us. And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child. And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds. But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.

Invitation

Hello, my name is Rob Hood and I am inviting you to take a stand with me as a fellow believer in Christ. Together we can bring back traditional biblical moral values, respect, and integrity that this country once had. Riddled with immorality, deceit, persecution, crime, and disrespect, America has changed in the last 50 years, but we don’t have to sit back and watch our country rot to the ground. We can renovate America, rebuild our communities, re-install the word of God, and instill Christian based Biblical values into society and bring America back to where it needs to be. I invite you to my own website where you get news, commentary, and events based upon these principles. Help me change America back to normal and save our great country!

Snakes eating Dust

Q: Some people try to discredit Genesis by saying snakes don’t eat dust, as Genesis 3:14 claims. So is the Bible in error?

A: Although we don’t know for sure that the serpent referred to in Genesis 1 really was the same as a snake, we do know that snakes do eat dust! After the serpent deceived Eve, God cursed it, saying, “On your belly you shall go and you shall eat dust all the days of your life.” And since most people don’t realize that many snakes eat dust, they use this as a reason not to take Genesis literally.

See, a snake has an organ in the roof of its mouth called “Jacobson’s organ” that helps the snake smell. Here’s how it works: with its darting, forked tongue, the snake picks up bits of dust and pulls them into its mouth. Once the dust is inside the mouth, a pair of sensory organs takes over and the snake is able to smell the trail for possible prey.

The point is, no matter what the serpent was, nothing contradicts the Bible’s clear statements in Genesis.

Religious Discrimination...

Senior Housing Facility Orders Wings Cut from Angel on Christmas Tree
Housing Facility Faces Possible Lawsuit for Religious Discrimination

Orlando, FL – Seniors living in an Orlando area retirement home are facing blatant religious discrimination because of censorship of Christmas in their homes. Liberty Counsel is intervening to defend the religious freedom of residents.

The management at an Orlando area retirement home, Orlando Cloisters, issued a directive to strip the common areas of any religious symbols or words in Christmas displays. At the management’s direction, an employee at Orlando Cloisters cut the wings off the angel on the Christmas tree. Angels were also removed from a display by the elevator. From the Cradle to the Grave

Now known as a cosmetology hotspot, the Ukraine is offering “stem cell” treatments as cures for everything from aging to poor complexions. While doctors claim to use “embryonic stem cells” in their procedures, the truth is that they are actually using cord blood or fetal tissue. New information suggests that the country is willing to go to great lengths to keep up with business. The BBC reports that healthy newborn babies have been kidnapped and killed to feed the fad. In a horrific discovery said to be videotaped by reporters, a research team filmed dismembered bodies that appear to have been harvested for stem cells. While this may sound more like fiction, many scientists, including FRC’s own Dr. David Prentice, suspect the account is true. He has spoken personally to doctors who have since sought asylum for speaking out about those who sell fetal parts or perform timed abortions to retrieve certain tissues. The BBC interviewed mothers from the city of Kharkiv who say that after they gave birth in the hospital, they never saw their child again. One such hospital, “number six,” has been accused of trafficking children snatched at birth and harvesting 30 babies for bone marrow cells. This is the dark side of science and female exploitation that no one wants to talk about. In the Ukraine, the slippery slope is real, and supply and demand seem to be what drives it.

Mass Obstruction

ADF Sues to Neutralize Weapons of “Mass” Obstruction

In an aggressive effort to move the Massachusetts marriage debate, the Alliance Defense Fund (ADF) announced today that its lawyers have filed a federal suit against the state legislature for shirking its duty to vote on a petition to protect marriage. The suit holds 109 lawmakers financially liable for voting to adjourn a special session without taking action on an initiative that would amend the constitution to define marriage as the union of a man and a woman. Pro-family groups have argued that the decision to recess on November 9 was a slap in the face of over 170,000 voters and the state’s constitution, which specifies that lawmakers must vote on citizen petitions. “Elected officials should be held accountable when they deliberately violate the law,” ADF Senior Counsel Glen Lavy says. “Some members of the legislature have even admitted publicly that they are deliberately violating their constitutional duty. This… must be stopped.” Liberal critics say these “rights” should not be the subject of a majority vote. And we can understand why. The public has strongly approved proposals banning same-sex unions. The Massachusetts legislators’ attempt to kill the proposal and close out the year in hiding is just another sign of their complicity with the liberal agenda endorsed by the Bay states courts. If Americans must litigate against their lawmakers to force them to do their job, so be it. I know that ADF is up to the task of defending what is right. In fact, just this week in another case, ADF took a New Jersey school to task for censoring a girl who wanted to perform “Awesome God” in a talent show. The court sided with the girl and ADF, ruling that the elementary school was unlawfully discriminating, not visa-versa.

Study with a Side of Danish

The largest study ever published on homosexual “marriage” was recently released by the first country to legalize it--Denmark. In a culture known for its approval of alternative lifestyles, researchers were able to analyze over two million people and the factors that contributed to homosexuals’ relationships. Concentrating on a 12-year period, Morten Frisch and Anders Hviid looked for common threads between those choosing to marry a homosexual and their family background. They discovered that a child’s home life largely motivated his decision making. The data suggests that men who marry same-sex partners are more likely to have been raised in a family with unstable parental relationships--particularly, absent or unknown fathers and divorced parents. The findings on women who marry homosexually were less pronounced but still associated with a childhood marked by a broken family. One of the more surprising statistics notes that men who lived with both parents continually from birth to age 18 are significantly less likely to enter a homosexual union. On the contrary, men who did not live with both parents until age 18 were 56%-76% more likely to “marry” another man. The researchers conclude by saying, “Whatever ingredients determine a person’s sexual preferences and marital choices, our population-based study shows that parental interactions are important.” Notice they didn’t say “parental genes” were important but family structures. A study of this magnitude should breathe new life into the value of saving the traditional family.

No "Mum"...

Scotland Forbids Nurses To Use
‘Mum’ Or ‘Dad’ In Health Care

December 8, 2006 - The Daily Mail of London (Dec. 3, 2006) reported on a new
policy booklet from the National Health Service that forbids nurses from using
terms such as “Mum,” “Dad,” “husband,” “wife,” or “married” under new “anti-
homophobia” rules.

The report, “Good LGBT Practice In the NHS,” tells nurses that they must use
terms like “guardian” or “carer” when referring to parents in order not to
offend homosexual parents.

The report was produced in collaboration with a gay group known as Stonewall
and was funded by the Scottish Executive.

It warns health care workers that they face disciplinary action if they fail to
comply. It says, “Resources will be expended on conflict if there is resistance
to required change.”

The booklet notes: “Many remarks made by people that appear to be harmless or
throwaway may assume only opposite-sex relationships are valid. This is
demeaning for LGBT people and they may fear a negative reaction if the
assumptions are challenged … LGBT people can and do have children - sexual
orientation or gender identity has nothing to do with good parenting or good
child care.”

Twas the month before Christmas when all through our land,
Not a Christian was praying nor taking a stand.
Why the Politically Correct Police had taken away,
The reason for Christmas - no one could say.

The children were told by their schools not to sing,
About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.
It might hurt people’s feelings, the teachers would say
December 25th is just a “Holiday.”

Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit
Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it!
CDs from Madonna, an X BOX, an I-pod,
Something was changing, something quite odd!

Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa
In hopes to sell books by Franken and Fonda.
But as Targets were hanging their trees upside down,
At Lowe’s the word Christmas was nowhere to be found.

At K-Mart and Staples and Penny’s and Sears
You won’t hear the word Christmas; it won’t touch your ears.
Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-si-ty
Are words that were used to intimidate me.

Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen
On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton!
At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter
To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter.

And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith
Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace.
The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded.
The reason for the season, stopped before it started.

So as you celebrate “Winter Break” under your “Dream Tree”
Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me.
Choose your words carefully, choose what you say…
Shout MERRY CHRISTMAS.… not Happy Holiday,

Our country was founded under the Christian way
To our “guests” I can say,
If You don’t like it.....…
You don’t have to stay!!

Q: What do fossils have to do with giving birth?

A: Most people believe it takes millions of years for a fossil to form, but that it only takes a short period of time for a mother to give birth. But knowing that birth is such a brief process shows us that fossils don’t take millions of years to form! Consider this startling example:

A museum in Germany has a beautifully detailed fossil on display. It shows an ichthyosaur in the process of giving birth to a fully formed baby. The baby, except for the head, appears to have emerged from the body of the mother.

This fossil presents a problem for those who think such fossils were formed over millions of years. It’s obvious that the mother and baby ichthyosaur must have been buried instantly to capture the birth while it was occurring. Also, the tissues of the baby ichthyosaur would have been more susceptible to decomposition, and yet they were preserved in nearly perfect detail.

When we study the events of Genesis—such as the Flood of Noah, and the destruction it would’ve caused—we shouldn’t be surprised to find such fossils as an ichthyosaur caught in the act of giving birth. Such fossils make sense when you start with the Bible.

To read about other ways ichthyosaur fossils show the havoc caused by the Flood, see Kamikaze ichthyosaur @ http://www.answersingenesis.org/creation/v27/i4/ichthyosaur.asp

While everyone can use prayer, I want to ask something a little different. All of you are familiar with the actor, Sylvester Stallone who played roles such as Rocky Balboa, Rambo, Judge Dredd, Cobra, and many others. The new upcoming Rocky Balboa movie that is to start playing Christmas features a more redemptive version of the champion boxer. It features a more Christian side to the movie character and the 2007 upcoming Rambo IV could do the same as well.

According to Stallone he is getting more interested in church and in the teachings of Jesus Christ and has portrayed some of those teachings into his newer and future movie characters like Rocky Balboa.

My request is for everyone to pray for Sylvester Stallone. I do believe the Holy Spirit is working on him. He is familiar with church since his childhood where he grew up in a Catholic church.

Please be in prayer for him as he can lead others in his profession to Christ as well.

Here is the complete article about this subject:

BIBLE VERSE OF THE WEEK

Declare what is to be, present it - let them take counsel together. Who foretold this long ago, who declared it from the distant past? Was it not I, the LORD? And there is no God apart from me, a righteous God and a Savior; there is none but me. Turn to me and be saved, all you ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other.

Isaiah 45:21-22 (NIV)

A Letter...

December 1, 2006

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad
President of the Islamic Republic of Iran

Dear President Ahmadinejad,

We are in receipt of your letter dated November 29, 2006 addressed to “noble Americans.”

While your English translators are quite good, we recommend that the next time you write, duplicate copies be provided in Ebonics and Spanish.  Both of these languages are used widely here, and the millions of Americans who favor them deserve the chance to hear your pearls of wisdom just like the rest of us.

Howard Dean agrees with this recommendation, and tell us he forgot to mention it to you when he prepared the final draft.

It is noted that you dated your letter November 29, 2006.  We trust that you recognize that the year 2006 is based on the number of years since the birth of Jesus Christ, the only deity to have walked on earth and the only source for redemption and eternal life.

We have attached a Gideon Bible and encourage you to read the New Testament, particularly the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, great disciples that worked side by side with Jesus Christ during his ministry here on earth more than two millennia ago.

By the way, Jesus and all his disciples were Jews.

While we are concerned with some of the inflammatory speech in your correspondence, we are pleased that you are writing.  Our intelligence professionals tell us that as long as you are preoccupied with writing, at least you are not making nuclear weapons with enriched uranium gleaned from those illegal centrifuges.

So by all means, make prose, not bombs, Mahmoud!

As to your suggestion that America disengage from our long-standing relationship with Israel, a quick study in American economics and politics is in order:

You see, Jews own all our banks and financial institutions, they are embedded in all levels of government in Washington, D.C., and the 50 states, they own all major communications venues, and they run Hollywood, movie capitol of the world.

In sum, Jews are everywhere.

We understand that you are looking forward to the return of the Iranian messiah—AKA the Hidden Imam-- as a signal that the end times have arrived.

Praise be, Mahmoud!

Our president, George Bush, owns a large ranch in Texas, including several wells.  In what surely must be a miracle, secret service officials are reporting that a man calling himself the Hidden Imam was found in a well praying for help.  Seems as though the fellow used a defective GPS and ended up in Crawford, Texas rather than Tehran.

Our president says he is willing to work with you so that you can get your Hidden Imam and we can shut down those centrifuges.  Please make us an offer.

We noble Americans wish you and your Hidden Imam a Merry Christmas!

Sincerely,

A Noble American

A New Finding ... Interesting!

From LifeSite News @ www.lifesite.net

Study Finds New Evidence that Childhood Family Factors Influence Sexual
Orientation

Special to LifeSiteNews.com By Linda Ames Nicolosi of NARTH

COPENHAGEN, November 29, 2006 (LifeSiteNews.com) - A major study published last
month in the prestigious peer-reviewed journal, Archives of Sexual Behavior,
provides striking new evidence for the influence of childhood family factors on
sexual-orientation development.

The study used a population-based sample of 2,000,355 native-born Danes between
the ages of 18 and 49. Denmark—a country noted for its tolerance of a wide
variety of alternative lifestyles, including homosexual partnerships—was the
first country to legalize gay marriage. The researchers assessed detailed
marriage records for all Danish-born men and women marrying a same-sex partner
from the years 1989 through 2001.

With access to the “virtually complete registry coverage of the entire Danish
population,” the study sample therefore lacked the problematic selection bias
that has plagued many previous studies on sexual orientation.

Parental Influences on Sexual Orientation Development

The authors conclude: “Our study provides population-based, prospective
evidence that childhood family experiences are important determinants of
heterosexual and homosexual marriage decisions in adulthood.”

Assuming that people who marry heterosexually are almost always heterosexual—
especially in a country where homosexuality carries little stigma, and gay
marriage is legal—and people who marry homosexually can be presumed to be
homosexual, the study’s findings offer intriguing evidence about family factors
separating homosexual from heterosexual persons.

The following are findings from this new data:

- Men who marry homosexually are more likely to have been raised in a family
with unstable parental relationships—particularly, absent or unknown fathers
and divorced parents.

- Findings on women who marry homosexually were less pronounced, but were still
associated with a childhood marked by a broken family. The rates of same-sex
marriage “were elevated among women who experienced maternal death during
adolescence, women with short duration of parental marriage, and women with
long duration of mother-absent cohabitation with father.”

- Men and women with “unknown fathers” were significantly less likely to marry
a person of the opposite sex than were their peers with known fathers.

- Men who experienced parental death during childhood or adolescence “had
significantly lower heterosexual marriage rates than peers whose parents were
both alive on their 18th birthday. The younger the age of the father’s death,
the lower was the likelihood of heterosexual marriage.”

- “The shorter the duration of parental marriage, the higher was the likelihood
of homosexual marriage...homosexual marriage rates were 36% and 26% higher
among men and women, respectively, who experienced parental divorce after less
than six years of marriage, than among peers whose parents remained married for
all 18 years of childhood and adolescence.”

- “Men whose parents divorced before their 6th birthday were 39% more likely to
marry homosexually than peers from intact parental marriages.”

- “Men whose cohabitation with both parents ended before age 18 years had
significantly (55% -76%) higher rates of homosexual marriage than men who
cohabited with both parents until 18 years.”

- The mother’s age was directly linked to the likelihood of homosexual marriage
among men—the older the mother, the more likely her son was to marry another
man. Also, “only children” were more likely to be homosexual.

- Persons born in large cities were significantly more likely to marry a same-
sex partner—suggesting that cultural factors might also affect the
development of sexual orientation.

“Whatever ingredients determine a person’s sexual preferences and marital
choices,” conclude the study’s authors, “our population-based study shows that
parental interactions are important.”
