The News...
Did you hear the news?
The head of al-Qaida in Iraq has admitted that Coalition forces have killed
4,000 terrorists belonging to, or allied with, al-Qaida in Operation Iraqi
Freedom.
But wait, isn’t Iraq supposed to be a distraction from the war on terrorism?
That’s one of the many lies from the anti-war crowd who have shamelessly tried
to undermine the war effort.
Read my brand new column where I break open the story on this whopper of a lie
from the anti-war crowd being torn apart!
Here’s the column:

Democratic Party Strategy: Forget the Truth
By Thomas E. Brewton
Democrats, dominated by their liberal-socialist wing, have swallowed whole the
socialistic and pragmatist philosophy doctrine that truth is simply whatever
opinion wins in the media marketplace. Whether it is right or wrong is
immaterial.
Daniel Henninger’s editorial page article in Friday’s Wall Street Journal, “Can
the Democrats Beat Bush’s Beliefs With Poll Politics?” captures the unreality
that has become the Democrat’s policy position on foreign affairs.
Mr. Henninger writes: “Democrats want voters to view the November election
through the fogged and bloody prism of the war in Iraq.… It is difficult to
imagine that the U.S. soldiers in Iraq would regard the political debate back
home as measuring up to the seriousness of what they do every day. How would
you like to roll out of your bunk in al Anbar province, Mosul or Baghdad on a
Sunday morning and read across the top of the local U.S. paper that everything
you’ve done in Iraq for three years has merely made the terrorism threat worse?
You just might lose heart a notch, a dangerous thing when fighting a war.
“But at this late stage of the campaign, Iraq-as-failure has become the central
narrative in the Democrats’ strategy. A memo sent out to Democrats last week
by Greenberg Quinlan Rosner, a strategy group led by former Clinton pollster
Stan Greenberg, discusses Mr. Bush’s ‘failure in Iraq, which energized
Democrats and dispirited Republicans.’ It urges Democrats: ‘On Iraq, stress
Bush/GOP ‘mismanagement’ and need for a ‘new direction.’ “
Advertisers of consumer products often structure advertisements to associate
their products with a mood or a sense of pleasure, often without providing
specifics about the product. Advertisers appear to believe that image, at
least in the Baby Boomer world, is everything.
Basing their campaign strategy on the sort of focus-group polling employed by
consumer-goods advertisers, Democrats just want voters to associate their party
with peace and opposition to anything that might require our military forces to
enter dangerous combat. The declared intent of Islamic jihadists to subjugate
or destroy all non-Muslim societies must be ignored, as it would conflict with
the nebulous image that fighting back is the root cause of terrorism.
Appeasement, aka “negotiating” via the UN, is the Democrat’s Ned-Lamont
socialist answer.
Such was the fantasy of British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain in 1938 when
he met with Adolph Hitler in Munich to sanction National Socialist Germany’s
seizure of Czechslovakia’s Sudetenland. Mr. Chamberlain happily returned to
England, on the eve of World War II, proclaiming, “Peace in our time.”
Democrats have convinced themselves that dealing with terrorists is the same as
stopping ordinary criminals, with arrests after the fact, public trials, and
rehabilitation programs.
This follows from another liberal-socialist doctrine: crime and war are the
result of unequal distribution of income, which creates aggressive behavior
among those deprived of their “constitutional rights” to the same level of
income as everyone else.
The Democrats, the party of John Dewey’s socialistic pragmatism, resolutely
oppose the data of real-life experience and cling to the Darwinian doctrine
that the world is a matter of chance, producing a process of social evolution.
Yesterday’s “truth” (of course, with the exception of socialism and pragmatism)
will not be today’s or tomorrow’s “truth.” With everything in a continuous
state of flux, according to that theory, there is no truth, merely valid or
invalid propositions. If an action works to your advantage, regardless of what
happens to others, it is “valid.”
If their campaign to destroy President Bush succeeds, no matter what happens to
our troops around the world or to our nation in the future, the necessary
actions are, by Democrats’ pragmatic lights, “valid.”
Given liberal-socialist control of most of the opinion-forming media Ð
newspapers, magazines, TV, movies Ð Democrats may win on image without
substance. After three quarters of a century of educational indoctrination in
the religion of socialism, too few Americans have been given the historical
knowledge necessary to distinguish fact from fiction.

Dear Friends,
We proudly join with Operation Save America and other national groups in their attempt call family-friendly Wal Mart to account for their support and promotion of the homosexual agenda. Read the action plan below from Rev. Flip Benham and join us on the largest shopping day of the year.
This is our Response: “Operation Save Wal-Mart”
On Friday morning and afternoon following Thanksgiving day, November 24, 2006, we are calling upon Christians to allow their theology to become biography on the streets in front of local Wal-Mart stores. We have dedicated a new website www.Savewalmart.com that will enable you to find out the latest news and register your local Wal-Mart where you will be taking your stand for Jesus. Please enlist your Pastor in this incredible missionary outreach.
We will have brochures on the web that you will be able to copy and distribute.
We will have ideas for signs that you can make up.
It will only take about 5 – 15 people to make a real difference at your locale.
Bring out a speaker system and let the preacher boys proclaim the Gospel of Christ.
We are not a protest (Christians don’t do that). We are a proclamation that Jesus Christ is Lord!
We were born for such a time as this! Keep storming the gates of hell in Jesus’ magnificent Name.

Reassessing the Growing Chinese Threat
by Jeff Lukens
At a time when Islamic terrorism captures the headlines, another equally
ominous threat to our national security is quietly on the rise. China is
undergoing a sustained effort to strengthen its military. So much so, in fact,
that their annual defense spending has tripled over the past decade.
China already has the largest standing army in the world. And since no nation
threatens them, why are they growing their military so fast? Well, because they
can. And secondly, because they intend to become a dominant world power.
By mid-century, China will likely surpass the United States to become the
world’s largest economy. Their rapidly expanding economy has enabled them to
finance a rapidly expanding military.
They already consume more industrial resources than any other nation, and they
are the world’s second-largest user of oil. This enormous thirst for raw
materials is changing the direction of their diplomatic and military strategy,
and it may be cause for us to change our diplomatic and military strategy as
well.
Extensive investment in a Chinese blue-water navy will soon enable the
projection of power far beyond their shores. That, and their strategic
relationships with countries along their sea-routes from the Middle East to
allow passage of ships through choke points suggest concern about protecting
their energy supply.
China already breaks copyrights and many other trade protocols. It isn’t
difficult to imagine scenarios in which Beijing would offer military hardware
to Iran in exchange for favored rights to their oil.
The Chinese leadership see themselves as a power on the rise, and the U.S. as a
power on the wane. Many in the military hierarchy, moreover, see the U.S. as
their inevitable enemy, and are preparing accordingly.
We once believed Beijing would not attack Taiwan knowing such action would
endanger their relationship with America. As their power grows, our
relationship may be of lesser importance to them.
For Washington, independence of Taiwan remains vital, but the consequences of
China’s ravenous appetite for raw materials and growing military power have
become equally important.
What if China’s power grew so dominant that all the other countries in the
region began to acquiesce to it? Japan and South Korea are probably already
concerned the U.S. might back away if armed trouble with China arises.
Beijing has established an integrated economy with surrounding Asian nations
equal in size to that of the U.S. They have the technological and financial
advantages of a modern economy, and with their huge population, the cost
advantages of a developing one.
What’s more, they sell more than 40 percent of their exports to America, and
own more than $200 billion in U.S. debt. While the Chinese save as much as 40
percent of their GDP, our savings rate is less than 2 percent of our GDP.
Domestic U.S. manufacturing companies, moreover, must deal with labor rates,
health care and retirement plans, and environmental and regulatory burdens that
are not found in China. In ever more sectors, consequently, competing against
them has become a losing proposition.
Perhaps we have been a bit naïve to believe we can hasten democratic reform in
China by opening to our markets to them. Over time, we have developed huge
trade deficits with them, and have become ever more dependent on their capital
to finance our federal debt.
We have also assumed that greater access to information technology and free
markets would move them toward democracy. Instead, they have used the internet
and other technologies to expand surveillance over their people.
Individual autonomy and elective government must go along with free markets,
and in the case of Mainland China, that just isn’t happening. Our economic
interaction cannot be a substitute for their political inaction.
How we respond to the Chinese challenge will be difficult to formulate. We can
always hope that our past strategy will eventually come to fruition. We must be
open, however, to the possibility that present policy is not working and only
strengthening a regime that represses their people and threatens other
nations.
We need to develop a strategic response that addresses our economic
competitiveness in terms of debt-based growth and domestic manufacturing. And
we will also need to strengthen our relationships with Japan, India, and even
Russia to ensure a balance of power in the region.
We cannot assume Chinese and American interests are the same. No one knows when
some chance incident might trigger a showdown over control of Taiwan, or
another Tiananmen Square type bloodbath.
With every passing day, China’s economic and military power continues to grow.
It may become an unmanageable problem. Now is the time for American policy-
makers to plan accordingly.

REMARKABLY GOOD NEWS FROM IRAQ
By Joel C. Rosenberg
Unprecedented religious freedom has finally come to Iraq because of U.S. military action there, and more Iraqi Muslims are becoming followers of Jesus Christ today than at any other time in the history of the country.
That was the message delivered by retired Iraqi General Georges Sada last night at a private dinner just outside of Washington, D.C., and then at McLean Bible Church in northern Virginia where Sada spoke to more than 1,000 people.
Sada and I first met by phone in March when I interviewed him for EPICENTER, the non-fiction book I’m writing about the future of the Middle East. Intrigued by his remarkable personal story, I invited him to come Washington to share his experiences and perspective with our congregation. It was an extraordinary evening.
Sada described in detail how Saddam moved stockpiles of weapons of mass destruction to Syria in the summer of 2002, a story that is now being closely analyzed by the CIA, DIA and Congressional intelligence committees. He received an emotional ovation when he described how he refused to execute U.S. and British prisoners of war in 1991, despite direct orders by Qusay Hussein, Saddam’s son. That move led to his dismissal from the military in February 1991, though—thank God—not to his own execution.
Just as moving where the stories Sada shared about what God is doing in Iraq today. Such stories are rarely told in the American press, though the Washington Times, to their credit, covered Sada’s visit, and ran an excellent front-page story this morning. [See below]
The Kurds in the north of Iraq, for example, are especially receptive to the gospel message and are converting to Christianity “by the hundreds,” Sada reported. One evangelical church recently started in Kurdistan now has more than 800 people worshipping there every week, most of whom are new converts from Islam. Sada told me that some 5,000 Iraqis have publicly identified themselves as new followers of Christ since Iraq was liberated, and that an estimated eight out ten Iraqi believers say they converted because Jesus appeared to them in dreams or visions.
In a new and very positive development, Nechirvan Barzani, the prime minister of Kurdistan Regional Government in Irbil, has vowed to protect the ancient Assyrian Christian community there as well as new believers from persecution and violence. Sada and Dr. Terry Law, president of World Compassion, a Christian relief organization based in Oklahoma, met with Barzani last week. “I would rather see a Muslim become a Christian than a radical Muslim,” Barzani told them, an absolutely remarkable statement by a Muslim leader in a land wracked by sectarian violence,
One of the things I found most inspiring was when Sada said that Saddam Hussein’s throne room in his main palace in Baghdad had been turned into an evangelical church after the war. Once Saddam used that room to order thousands of people to be executed, but now the name of Jesus Christ—the King of kings and the Lord of lords—is praised there instead. Sada also said tens of thousands of Bibles were being printed in Iraq. Thousands more are being shipped into Iraq, and Christian programming is now available to Iraqis on satellite television.
Sada, a former air force fighter pilot who once served as a senior military advisor to Saddam Hussein, became the chief spokesman for Iraqi Prime Minister Iyad Allawi during the interim government, just after the war. Now he serves as a senior national security advisor to Iraqi President Jalal Talabani and has been helping redesign the new Iraqi military, along with his efforts to strengthen the Christian church in Iraq. His recent best-selling book, Saddam’s Secrets: How an Iraqi General Defied and Survived Saddam Hussein, is an absolutely fascinating description of how Sada became a follower of Christ, rose through the ranks of the Iraqi Air Force, ended up working so closely with Saddam, and now works for peace and reconciliation in the name of Jesus.
Sada concluded the evening with a heart-felt message of thanks to the American people for liberating his country and said all peace-loving people should “kneel down and thank the [American] mothers and fathers who have sacrificed their sons and daughters for the sake of freedom in Iraq.” He asked for patience as Iraq’s fledgling democracy builds a foundation and finds its way. But he also said there is far more good news in Iraq today than is being reported by the national news media.
Why is he taking such risks to share the good news? I asked him. “There is an Arab proverb which says, ‘Don’t be a mute Satan,’” he told me. “If you know the truth, you have an obligation to tell everyone.”

Government School Indoctrination Declared European “Human Right”
The European Court of Human Rights recently upheld a German government decision to bar Christian parents from homeschooling their children. Although European countries have differing policies toward homeschoolers, Germany forbids parents to practice it for religious reasons. After losing in the German courts, Fritz and Marianna Konrad appealed to the European Court of Human Rights. Despite explicit language in international law declaring that “the State shall respect the right of parents to ensure...education and teaching in conformity with their own religious and philosophical convictions,” the court ruled, ironically, that “pluralism” required the government “to avoid the emergence of parallel societies based on separate philosophical convictions.” Apparently only a monolithic, state-run “pluralism” is allowed. This incident shows why many Americans worry about judges in this country citing foreign and international law in their decisions, rather than relying on our own laws and Constitution, to which they have sworn their loyalty. Retired Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor yesterday warned in a Wall Street Journal op-ed against harsh criticism of judges--for relying on international law and for other forms of judicial activism--as a “threat to judicial independence.” The case of Konrad v. Germany is an illustration of why we--not judges--should fear for our independence.

Red Letter’ Liberal Christians: A New Front Group For Democrats
By Rev. Louis P. Sheldon
Chairman, Traditional Values Coalition
September 26, 2006 - Democrats have an anti-religion problem. In fact, they have such a serious anti-religion problem that in 2004 they had to bring a leftist pastor named Jim Wallis to try to teach Democrat congressmen how to use “God talk” in their campaign speeches. This pathetic effort failed as will a new disinformation campaign called “Red Letter Christians.”
Wallis, founder of the left-wing Sojourners group, and self-described “progressive evangelical” Tony Campolo, have just founded a liberal front organization called the “Red Letter Christians.” Wallis, Campolo, Father Richard Rohr, “Emergent Church” pioneer Brian McLaren, Dr. Cheryl J. Sanders, Rev. Noel Castellanos, and others met recently to form this new pseudo-evangelical group.
These “Red Letter Christians” are supposedly trying to alert American Evangelicals to the importance of living the words of Jesus as highlighted in red in many Bibles. Their idea of living the words of Jesus, however, is somehow reinterpreted to mean support for every liberal political agenda on the horizon.
These pseudo-evangelicals would have you believe that the Bible only contains the Word of God. True Evangelicals believe that the Bible—each word, each sentence—is the Word of God. This is how you can tell the difference between these pseudo-evangelicals and true Evangelicals.
Wallis and Campolo both have lifelong careers as left-of-center social activists. Wallis was a radical anti-Vietnam War activist in the 1960s and an apologist for the Sandinistas in Nicaragua and other leftist guerrilla forces in Latin America in the 1980s. I wonder if Jesus would have supported Marxist terrorism. Frankly, I doubt it.
Campolo’s political views are as a skewed as Wallis’s. In a speech at Wheaton College not long after 9/11, Campolo claimed that then-Attorney General John Ashcroft was more dangerous than Osama Bin Laden! (Campolo was also a “spiritual” counselor to finger-wagging President Clinton after the “blue dress” incident at the White House that eventually resulted in Clinton’s impeachment in the House.)
These pastors are the leaders of the “Red Letter Christian” movement.
In every election cycle, we see the same tired old left-wing “religious” activists trotted out by the Democrats as proof that the Democrat Party has a spiritual base.
Yet, these “religious” leftists and Democrats routinely support policies that are diametrically opposed to the teachings of the Bible. The Bible condemns the taking of innocent life—yet liberals support abortion on demand. The Bible condemns the behavior of homosexuality—yet liberals support homosexual marriage and adoption. The Bible calls for the punishment of evildoers and justifies war when there are threats to national sovereignty—yet liberals are routinely weak on punishment of criminals and weak on national security.
Adding a garnish of religious talk to campaign speeches for liberals does nothing to change the reality that current liberal thinking is the antithesis of true Christianity.
Americans need to understand that these pseudo-evangelicals are nothing more than shills for the Democrat Party and trying to use whatever credibility they think they have to draw Christians away from the Republican Party and a truly Biblical worldview.
As Americans go to the polls this November, they have important decisions to make about the direction this nation will take during the next few years. Making the wrong decision can place individuals in positions of power who will implement anti-family, anti-Biblical policies that will impact us for decades to come. Putting liberals in power over the Senate will undermine our war on Islamic terrorism and destroy our chances of reforming the federal courts! Putting liberals in charge of the House will result in impeachment proceedings against the President and endless witch hunt hearings conducted by Bush haters.
Pseudo-evangelicals Wallis and Campolo are doing whatever they can to convince voters that liberals actually have an orthodox Christian belief system. Most don’t. American voters, however, can see through this charade. It’s time for these leftists to “moveon.org” to some other religious scam.

Public Expression of Religion Act
The second bill needing your attention is the Public Expression of Religion Act (PERA) (H.R. 2679), introduced by Rep. John Hostettler (R-Indiana). PERA will be voted on today in the House, and a vote on this bill is one of the best opportunities for a significant pro-family victory prior to Congress recessing for the campaign season.
PERA will prevent groups like the ACLU from using the legal system in a manner that extorts money from state and local governments and inhibits their constitutional actions.
PERA would amend the law to prevent the awarding of attorney’s fees to prevailing plaintiffs in these cases and thus level the playing field against groups such as the ACLU, which have won millions of dollars in attorney’s fees while forcing state and local governments to suppress religious speech.
Please contact your representative today and tell him to vote YES on H.R. 2679, the Public Expression of Religion Act. This bill is one of our best opportunities to gain a pro-family victory before Congress adjourns for the campaign season.

U.S. House to Vote on Public Expression of Religion Act Today
Washington, D.C. – Today, the Public Expression of Religion Act (HR 2679, also known as PERA), is scheduled to go before the United States House of Representatives for a final vote.
PERA, which has 66 sponsors in the House, prohibits damages, attorney’s fees and costs from being awarded to plaintiffs who bring suit claiming violations of the Establishment Clause. If the bill passes, advocacy groups like the ACLU would no longer be able to use the threat of monetary awards to force the Boy Scouts off of public property or remove Nativity scenes, religious symbols from city seals or from veterans’ memorials, Ten Commandments displays, the words “under God” from the Pledge of Allegiance, or any other public expression of religion.
If PERA passes both the House and the Senate, a plaintiff who files suit against government officials over an Establishment Clause violation and wins would be entitled to a court order halting any unconstitutional action by the government, but could not recover damages, attorney’s fees or costs, which many times reach hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Liberty Counsel, a nationwide litigation, education and policy organization, recently delivered over 80,000 petitions in support of PERA to Congressman John Hostettler (R-IN), who is one of the primary sponsors of PERA.
Mathew D. Staver, Founder and Chairman of Liberty Counsel, who testified before House and Senate Judiciary Subcommittees on the Constitution in favor of the bill, commented: “The Public Expression of Religion Act is common sense legislation. Taxpayers should not have to fork over their hard-earned dollars to advocacy groups bent on promoting a narrow, antireligious agenda. Taxpayers in San Diego paid the ACLU $950,000 to fund litigation to boot the Boy Scouts from using a public park. That is insane. The message of PERA is simple – advocacy groups can still file legitimate claims, but the taxpayers will not be forced to fill their coffers.”
Contact your Representative and Urge Them to Pass PERA
Contact your Representative to urge them to vote today in favor of PERA. You can email your Representative through the House of Representatives website at http://www.house.gov/writerep/ The Capitol Switchboard number is (202) 224-3121 if you would like to call your Representative. It will only take a moment to get in touch with your Representative to urge them to vote in favor of PERA, but the impact will be enormous.

It is time to indict Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on trial for incitement to commit genocide. According to Webster’s definition, genocide is “the deliberate and systematic destruction of a racial, political, or cultural group.” Such action on the part of Western leaders might well prevent the murderous dictator from subjecting the world to a cataclysmic nuclear event.
The following steps also need to be taken immediately: Close the Iranian mission in New York City; cancel all Iranian diplomatic visas to the United States; ask credit card companies such as Visa, Mastercard, American Express, etc., to cancel credit cards issued to Iranian diplomats; disclose all U.S. corporations doing business with Iran, even those doing business through third-party corporations.
Following his call for the annihilation of Israel, Ahmadinejad gave the go-ahead to Hezbollah to launch some 4,000 missiles into Israel in an attempt to kill as many Israelis as possible. His plan was foiled only by the fact that bomb shelters are required in homes in Israel.
We cannot sit idly by and allow Ahmadinejad to gain the means to his determined end – to wipe Israel off the map. The world did that with Adolf Hitler in the 1930s. Had the League of Nations (the precursor to the United Nations) taken action against Hitler when he published “Mein Kampf,” it is possible that the world would have been spared the Holocaust and the deaths of World War II.
The lack of opposition from the world as a whole only fueled Hitler’s desire to eliminate the Jewish population from Europe through monstrous acts of persecution. He interpreted the lethargic response to his master plan as indifference, and indeed, it was.
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has embarked on a plan to become the all-powerful leader of the Islamic world. He has already begun to court the non-aligned nations, and in fact, has visited both Cuba and Venezuela in recent weeks. (His inflammatory speech at the U.N. last week was followed by the incendiary histrionics of his ally, Hugo Chavez. Chavez referred to President Bush as “the devil...a liar...a drunk.”) But this is only the first step in his own master plan to eliminate Israel and to humiliate America and render it powerless to interfere. In Ahmadinejad’s hunger to emerge as all-victorious against the West, he resembles the maniacal Adolf Hitler more and more.
Click here to ask President Bush to close the Iranian mission in New York City, introduce economic sanctions against the rich mullahs of Iran, and lead an international tribunal to indict President Ahmadinejad for violations of the Geneva Convention by calling for the destruction of the State of Israel, for killing Americans (troops) in Iraq and Jews in Israel through proxies. I also ask you to join those asking for Iran to be removed from the U.N.
All of my life I’ve heard that those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. It appears to me that we are well on our way to seeing history repeat itself in the form of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad if we don’t take a stand against his blatant aggression here and now. Hitler was determined to exterminate the Jews; Ahmadinejad’s vision is a world without Zionism (Jews) and America (which to him represents Christianity.)
It is certain that this world cannot tolerate another Hitler; it is equally certain that it cannot tolerate another Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain’s appeasement policies toward a nation that is bent only on destruction. Having dismissed Ahmadinejad’s threats as just the ranting of a madman, have we already adopted Chamberlain’s attitude of appeasement?
It is time that we recognized and admitted the truth that such totalitarian regimes as that of Ahmadinejad do not operate according to the same moral code as does America. His threats against Israel and America are directly linked to his fanatical religious beliefs surrounding the return of the Twelfth Mahdi, who can only appear as the result of a cataclysmic event – possibly a nuclear attack designed to achieve his vision of a world without Zionism and America.
The nations of the world that value freedom and democracy would be well-advised to deal with Ahmadinejad and his radical beliefs now…before he has achieved his aspirations to possess nuclear arms.
Please ask President Bush today to lead an international tribunal to indict Ahmadinejad for crimes of genocide.
Ahmadinejad has said: “Israel’s existence is the central obstacle that faces the Islamic nation.” He further made his point by sanctioning a parade of missiles boldly labeled: Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.
If Iran obtains a nuclear device, it will be too late for America, Israel, for our troops in Iraq, and for the world.

Mike Evans

History...
Puritanism: The Origin of Public Education
By Thomas E. Brewton
From the beginning of colonial life in British North America, Puritans insisted
that every man, woman, and child be literate enough to read the Bible and to
discuss theological questions. From this came America’s first publicly funded
elementary schools and our first colleges.
The Puritans who founded New England were among the most highly educated
persons in England, the leaders and ministers being mostly Cambridge University
graduates. All of the original colonists, men and women, were able to read and
write and were students of the Bible.
Even more important than formal training to read and write, however, was the
totality of family, church, and political society in the formation of
children’s character, which was the original meaning of education. Education
was conceived broadly as the transference to its children of a society’s
culture, the absolute essentiality for the survival of society, particularly
for Puritans in the savage wilds of North America in the early 17th century.
I wrote in How Far Have We Fallen?
“Some scholars have described [John] Locke as the father of modern education in
England.Ê His 1692 ÒSome Thoughts Concerning EducationÓ provides us a base line
for assessing present-day educational practices.Ê Harvard at that time was 56
years old.Ê The Pilgrims had landed at Plymouth 72 years earlier.
“Locke begins with a childÕs infancy and lays out an educational path through
the childÕs coming of age.Ê Locke also advises that childrenÕs natural
curiosity should be used to engage them in learning.Ê He continually admonishes
against the use of punishments in education.Ê
“He brooks no nonsense or bullying by students, however, seeing that as a flaw
in teaching morality and decorum.Ê
“Several things will surprise todayÕs students.
“The first surprise is the order of emphasis Locke assigns to the objects of
education.Ê They are virtue, wisdom, breeding (courtesy and decorum), and,
last, learning specific subjects.”
Locke, it must be remembered, was the author of the “Second Treatise of Civil
Government,” the 1689 philosophical basis for England’s ousting James II,
because the king had arbitrarily abrogated the inalienable natural-law rights
of his English subjects. Locke’s treatise was specifically and repeatedly
cited in the colonies as the justification for the events of 1776. It also
provided some of Jefferson’s memorable language in the Declaration of
Independence.
Historian Bernard Bailyn, twice the winner of the Pulitzer Prize, wrote in
“Education in the Forming of American Society:”
“The modern conception of public education, the very idea of a clean line of
separation between “private” and “public,” was unknown before the end of the
eighteenth century.”
Speaking of the colonial era, Professor Bailyn wrote, “ The most important
agency in the transfer of culture was not formal institutions of instruction or
public instruments of communication, but the family; and the character of
family life in late sixteenth Ð and early seventeenth-century England is
critical for understanding the history of education in colonial America.”
“..… [Families and their communities] were, in the first place, the primary
agencies in the socialization of the child. Not only did the family introduce
him to the basic forms of civilized living, but it shaped his attitudes, formed
his patterns of behavior, endowed him with manners and morals.”
“.… More explicit in its educational function than either family or community
was the church. .… It furthered the introduction of the child to society by
instructing him in the system of thought and imagery which underlay the
culture’s values and aims. It provided the highest sanctions for the accepted
forms of behavior, and brought the child into close relationship with the
intangible loyalties, the ethos and highest principles, of the society in which
he lived. In this educational role, organized religion had a powerfully
unifying influence.”
Professor Bailyn notes that this English heritage was importantly modified by
the harsh conditions in colonial America. The family was critically changed by
the hardships of disease, Indian raids, and the necessity for hard work in the
fields from daylight to dark. Little time was left for the ordered and
leisurely educational pattern of English family life.
Perforce, the educational function of transference of culture became more the
responsibility of the communities organized around Congregational churches.
Historian John Fiske in “The Beginnings of New England, or The Puritan
Theocracy in its Relation to Civil and Religious Liberty,” wrote:
“This intense interest in doctrinal theology was part and parcel of the whole
theory of New England life; because, as I have said, it was taken for granted
that each individual must hold his own opinions at his own personal risk in the
world to come. Such perpetual discussion, conducted under such a stimulus,
afforded in itself no mean school of intellectual training.… According to
that theory, it was absolutely essential that everyone should be taught from
early childhood how to read and understand the Bible.”
The famous Boston Latin School, still operating, was founded in 1635, only
fifteen years after the Pilgrims landed at Plymouth, as one of the first
publicly funded schools providing free education.
In 1636 the Massachusetts General Court provided the funds to establish a
college at Newtown. To it in 1638 John Harvard bequeathed his library and half
of his estate. From the latter came the college’s name and the renaming of
Newtown as Cambridge in honor of John Harvard’s alma mater.
Puritanism was thus quintessentially focused upon education of all its
citizens, men and women. And it was the fountainhead of public education in
America.

Chavez, You Little Devil
By Rob Hood (09/22/2006)
I was not surprised by the arrogant, left wing comments made by Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez about President Bush. He referred to President Bush as “A Devil”, but seems to ignore his own evil actions of being associated with communist countries like Cuba and China and having friendly association with terror sponsored states like Iran and Syria. Mr. Chavez is just a little too friendly with Cuba, Russia, China, and Iran if you ask me. As a matter of fact I wouldn’t trust any further than I could throw him.
Mr. Chavez hates President Bush and hates real Americans. Mr. Chavez is not bashful in his hatred for real Americans and is certainly not bashful with his ties with communist and terror states. If he only knew what America really thought of him, he would probably keep his mouth shut. Americans that I know see Chavez as the Devil, not the other way around. Anyone who associates themselves with radical Islamic terror sponsored states and communist nations has to be a little bit touched in the head. I think that Chavez is like a little kid who craves attention. Whenever the news is about some other nation, here he is making another comment about a country that is growing more angry and frustrated by the day with people like him.
Mr. Chavez is a very dangerous man in whom we will have to keep a close watch. He has friendships with some of the most notoriously dangerous countries in the world and we can’t afford to let him further the cause of radical Islamic terrorism or communism. He claims he is for democracy, but so did Hitler and Stalin. If Bush is the Devil, then I suppose the closest thing that Chavez could be compared to is Vlad Dracula the Impaler. Between the two for a leader, I’ll take Dracula.
I am quite surprised to see Charlie Rangal and Nancy Pelosi take a stand for President Bush for a change. According to NewsMax, the Senators really gave Mr. Chavez a good tongue lashing about entering our country as a guest and then speaking in vile manner about our leader in our own country. To see what the two Democratic leaders said, see references below.
If Mr. Chavez doesn’t like Bush or American policies, then he should stay in Venezuela and stop selling us oil or anything else that come from that country. I am hopeful that President Bush will sever all financial ties with Venezuela. After all, isn’t that what Chavez wants? Perhaps we should discuss banning Mr. Chavez from entering the United States ever again and have him arrested and deported if he does enter. I also say that it’s high time that we vacate that UN building in New York and send the UN packing. If all they want to do is argue and call our leader names in our own country then maybe we should ban them from coming back until they learn how to act civilized in a public place. Chavez should learn some manners in public. His silly smartelic remarks just shows how uncivilized he really is. I am not a firm believer in evolution, but to all those evolutionists out there, I believe you may have found your missing link after all!
So, Mr. Chavez the lesson here is : Watch out; when you play with fire you get burned!
If you wish to show your support in president Bush and show your defiance to Hugo Chavez, please boycott all Citgo gas stations in America. Citgo is owned by the Venezuelan government. REMEMBER TO BOYCOTT CITGO AND DEFY THE REAL DEVIL, HUGO CHAVEZ!

Brokeback Ford...
PLEASE JOIN THE AFA BOYCOTT OF FORD MOTOR COMPANY FOR THE FOLLOWING REASON:
Brokeback Ford
By: Nathan Tabor
There was a time when the Ford Motor Company was synonymous with family. You might remember Dad packing you and your brothers and sisters into a Ford headed for a day at the beach, the zoo, or the farm. Ford meant stability, security, and tradition.
But those days have apparently gone the way of the Edsel.
Now, we have a Ford that is openly endorsing a radical homosexual agenda--an agenda which is clearly anti-family.
For instance, Ford has been known to force employees to take part in so-called diversity training classes. In these classes, workers are required to accept the concept of an active homosexual lifestyle—a lifestyle which may be directly counter to their own religious and moral beliefs. It’s curious that such classes should be labelled “diversity training,” given the fact that they are certainly not presenting diverse ideologies. Rather, this seems to simply be another case of political correctness in high gear.
Family groups are not taking Ford’s actions lightly. Rather, they are engaged in a boycott of Ford products. However, homosexual rights groups have countered by announcing their own buying marathon--a “buycott” of Ford-produced cars.
To their credit, homosexual activists have been quite vocal and active in their push for homosexual marriage. But the question remains: are ordinary American families...those families tired of having the homosexual agenda infiltrate schools, news, and entertainment...willing to take on the boycott challenge? Or would they rather remain apathetic, and watch their way of life suffer as a result?
It has been said that few companies have done more to advertise and celebrate the homosexual lifestyle than Ford. Yet, many average citizens may not know this. Interestingly enough, the Human Rights Campaign actually rewarded Ford for its efforts at promoting the homosexual lifestyle by giving it a rating of 100-percent. In addition to supporting the idea of homosexual marriage, Ford has given hundreds of thousands of dollars to homosexual organizations, according to the American Family Association, an organization that objects to making homosexual marriage legal.
In fact, Ford has gone so far as to play bridesmaid to a homosexual “commitment ceremony.” This isn’t a case of tolerance--this is an undisputed embrace of the homosexual way of life.
The fact is that the kindest thing society can do to assist those dealing with same-sex attraction is to support the traditional concept of marriage--the concept that the marriage bond is limited to one man, one woman. Any other definition of marriage is, in essence, a lie and runs counter to the workings of Creation.
We need to deal with individuals with same-sex attraction with compassion, understanding, and support. We do not need to change the definition of marriage in a misguided effort to make their struggles easier.
And we need to rev up our efforts to make Ford accountable to the families that helped turn the automaker into a legend of the manufacturing industry. Our children are depending upon our willingness to stand up for the sanctity of family life.

Pick your issue, from the environment to “sexual harassment,†to the treatment of captured terrorists, and the liberal take on it is guaranteed to be wrong on every front. First, the concerns expressed by the left are invariably only a facade, intended to exploit the situation in an effort to advance the cause of liberalism. Secondly, and more significantly, liberal involvement will almost exclusively worsen the problem about which the left claims to be concerned.

AN ACTION ALERT FROM:
http://www.MoveAmericaForward.Org
We have some great news to pass along to you about Iraq. It’s from Iraq’s President, Jalal Talabani:
Dear Americans:
As I am visiting the United States for the second time representing free and democratic Iraq, I felt it my duty to give you an update on what has been achieved in Iraq over the past year and on the challenges that lie ahead.
The first thing I would like to convey is the gratitude of all Iraqis, who are fighting for a democratic government and a civil society, to the Americans. Without your commitment, our struggle against despotism could not have made the progress that we have achieved. No expression of thanks could be enough for those who lost loved ones in Iraq. We feel your pain, we honor your sacrifice and we will never forget you.
To those of you who have family and friends in Iraq today, we say: Your sons and daughters are helping us through a historic transition. We will always remember the enormous sacrifice that America is making for Iraq.
Thanks to the United States, we are transforming Iraq from a country that was ruled by fear, repression and dictatorship into a country that is ruled by democracy and has the values of equality, tolerance, human rights and the rule of law at its heart.
April 9, 2003, the day of liberation, heralded a new era in the history of Iraq and the region. That day triggered a sequence of events that laid the foundation of a modern Iraq that is at peace with itself and the world.
All segments of Iraqi society have benefited from liberation.
Under Saddam Hussein, the majority of the Sunni Arabs of Iraq were marginalized, Saddam and his gang were ruling in the name of this community. But in reality, the Sunni Arabs never had the chance to choose their representatives democratically and have a say about their future. Today, they have 58 deputies in Parliament, a vice president, a deputy prime minister and a speaker of Parliament; all were elected by the people of Iraq.
The Shia majority of Iraq was for decades oppressed and discriminated against. They did not even have the right to practice their religious ceremonies. Now, they are equal citizens and hold key posts in government and parliament through their democratically elected representatives. Kurds were second-class citizens. They suffered from genocide and chemical bombardment; now they are equal members of Iraqi society and active participants in the running of their country, Iraq.
The same applies to the Turkomens, Assyrians and other groups of Iraqi society.
Iraq finally has an elected and representative government, a huge contrast to the authority of a vicious tyrant. In other words, Iraq is no longer the property of a gang that ruled by fear and repression. Every Iraqi today feels they have a stake in the new Iraq.
With the regime of Saddam gone, the countries of the Middle East no longer worry about the threat of new adventures by Saddam and his army across Iraq’s international borders.
Every time that I visit the United States, I am convinced anew of the virtues and health of the American idea of government, and of the generosity of its people.
I was here around the same time last year. Here is what has happened between then and now, although I must say that I do not think that our situation can be understood simply by following the latest news. A much broader view of Iraq must be taken.
For this, I will start with the economy.
The economic conditions for most Iraqis have improved. The economy was liberated from the control of the state and we are now taking the first steps in creating a vibrant private sector.
Thanks to our independent businesspeople, our market places are bustling despite the unsettled security situation.
A new investment law is before our Parliament. It will further invigorate our private sector, streamline the procedures for starting a new business, and open the country to greater foreign participation and investment.
Salaries of government employees were raised 100 times or more. A policeman under Saddam received $2 to $3 dollars a month. Now a policeman is paid at least $200 a month.
The financial and economic boom is mostly noticed in the safer parts of Iraq. The city of Sulaymaniyah in Iraqi Kurdistan region now has more than 2,000 millionaires. Before liberation, the city had 12.
Politically, we had an eventful year. For the first time in Iraq’s history, we ratified a constitution that enshrines many of the democratic values of human rights, equality, rule of law and good government.
After three historic ballots that remain landmarks in the history of the Middle East, we now have a government that arises out of the people, instead of over the people, to use the words of a great American patriot, Thomas Paine.
Unlike the previous election, last December more people voted - 10.5 million - and a more representative parliament and a national unity government are now in place.
Taking part in the national election and referendum on the constitution were the first steps in our national reconciliation efforts; we opted for the ballots and not the bullets to resolve our differences.
We consolidated this by the National Reconciliation Plan of Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki. The plan aims at bringing into the political process all elements of the Iraqi political spectrum that condemn terror and violence.
In the period between the election and the formation of the national unity government, the political blocs - which formed the government later - agreed on the political program for the government and agreed on forming the Political Council for National Security.
An important event that marked the new Iraq over the past year is the trial of Saddam Hussein and his aides for the crimes that were committed against the people of Iraq.
We offered him the justice that he denied Iraqis for decades. The trials, the testimonies of the witnesses and those of the defendants are stark reminders and indications of what Iraq was like in the past and what the new Iraq is about.
Through the constitution and other legal means, we are redefining the foundations that Iraq was built on and are rebuilding what the country’s bloody past has destroyed. We have no choice but to succeed.
Our enemy attempts to destroy and disrupt any part of the political process, not because they disagree with the tenets of the Iraqi constitution, but because they do not want a constitution.
This contingent of international terrorists and the supporters and beneficiaries of the old regime - the devotees of Saddam Hussein - constitute the driving force of our enemy.
They attempt to turn Iraqis against each other, and take Iraq back to its brutal and bloody past.
Their tactics of suicide bombings and beheadings make it obvious that they mean to govern by inciting terror and fear, just as Saddam did. Although portions of Iraq are already safe and secure, certain parts are still coming under attack from the vicious, bloodthirsty enemy.
With the support of the citizens of Baghdad, the government started its Baghdad Security Plan. This plan is already showing signs of success, with a marked drop in the reported incidents of violence over the last month.
The battle in Iraq today is not between the various communities. Their elected representatives have agreed on a government of national unity and on national reconciliation. Nor is it a battle between civilizations, as some have seen it.
It is a war “about civilization” as Prime Minister Tony Blair has phrased it so well - the conflict is between those who believe in having a civilization and those who don’t believe in having one at all.
As you no doubt already understand, we are fighting a terribly difficult war in Iraq. We are doing everything within our power to protect our people from this clear form of fascism that seduces them into civil war.
The calculated crime of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi and his henchmen in bombing the Shrine of Samarra, one of Iraq’s religious and cultural treasures, is a prime example of their agenda. They wanted to slide the country into civil war.
Thanks to the presence of the U.S. forces in Iraq and the wisdom of my colleagues in the leadership of Iraq, that plan was thwarted and the short spate of violence was contained.
I want to be frank here. In order to rid Iraq of the constant threat of violence, we still need your help. As long as we are determent to outlast and outsmart our enemy, we shall reach our common goals.
Iraq is slowly gaining the ability to fight this war with its own soldiers, evidenced recently by the relinquishing of complete control of coalition forces to the Iraqi government. The coalition now employs more soldiers from Iraq than any other nation.
Slowly but surely, Iraq will be able to protect itself on its own.
The stakes of Iraq are enormous, world-shifting even. This is why our country should be a point of concern for every democratic country of the world.
I can assure you that the immediate departure of coalition forces would only unleash tensions between different communities; the prospect of a safe Iraq would be completely lost; and the previous descriptions of a civil war would seem insufficient and tame compared to the bloodshed of an Iraq that loses its international support.
And although I cannot promise when or how the American presence will completely end in Iraq, I can promise that American soldiers do not fight in vain.
We in Iraq recognize that an incredible amount of American resources have been offered to us. And we understand that many Americans are frustrated with the course of the war, and we understand that doubt naturally coincides with difficulty.
I realize that many Americans were apprehensive about the decision to go to war.
But I ask that you put this behind you in favor of supporting a democratic and free Iraq, and a future for Iraqis that excludes the threat of violence and extremism.
I ask that you consider what the terms of failure in Iraq would actually look like, and what they would mean for Iraq, the United States and the international community.
I would venture to say that the interest of Iraq and the United States are one in this matter.
The United States carries a heavy responsibility in helping us. As complicated as the relationship may be, America and Iraq are now siblings in the world.

Exploitation of Embryos
Embryonic stem cell experiments require both the destruction of embryos and the exploitation of women. Because of an embryo shortage, and the issue of tissue rejection, researchers must resort to cloning. Currently, over 200 human eggs are needed to create one cloned embryo, requiring thousands of women to undergo the painful and potentially dangerous process of egg harvesting. Some researchers want to pay women to encourage “donations.” This puts young, poor, and minority women at risk. An unlikely alliance of pro-choice feminists and pro-family groups opposes the proposal. Now the California legislature has passed a bill that would broaden informed consent requirements and prohibit privately funded laboratories from paying women for eggs. If it becomes law it will reduce the likelihood of women being exploited in the pursuit of research that is not needed. In a related story, researchers at the University of Missouri-Columbia report that adult stem cells are therapeutically superior to embryonic stem cells. That this news comes to us from Missouri makes it doubly welcome, given the state’s impending vote on a constitutional amendment authorizing exploitative embryonic stem cell research. This makes the choice in the “Show Me State” evermore clear: Ethical and effective adult stem cell research or unethical, ineffective embryo stem cell research.

NBC, Madonna Set To Mock The Crucifixion of Christ
FROM AFA:
Help send one million emails asking NBC to show Christians the same respect they show other religions
Following the lead of Rosie O’Donnell and ABC, NBC has decided to join in the bashing of Christians by airing a Madonna special in November. A specific date has not been released.
In the show, Madonna, wearing a fake crown of thorns, descends on a suspended mirrored, disco ball-type cross. When some Christian leaders complained about the mockery, NBC ignored their concerns.
Making mockery of the crucifixion of Christ has been a trademark of Madonna for many years. In 1989 she had a video for the hit song “Like A Prayer.” The video featured burning crosses, statues crying blood and Madonna--representing Jesus--freeing a saint from his sexual repression by seducing him. This is the same Madonna who once said, “Crucifixes are sexy because there’s a naked man on them.”
Kevin Reilly, an executive at NBC, said Madonna considered the scene mocking the crucifixion of Christ the highlight of her show. “We (NBC) viewed it and didn’t see it as being inappropriate.” Madonna considers mocking the crucifixion of Jesus the highlight of her show and NBC agrees.

Moral Relativism: Liberals Take a Stand
By Thomas E. Brewton
The New York Times, the paper of record for socialist propaganda, joins Islamic
jihadists in denouncing the Pope.
A recent editorial in the New York Times identifies its editorialists and American liberals with the cause of Islamic jihad. They, of course, would disagree. By their lights, they are merely being tolerant.
The Times editorial concludes: “ [Pope Benedict XVI’s speech in Regensburg] is
tragic and dangerous when one sows pain, either deliberately or carelessly. He
needs to offer a deep and persuasive apology, demonstrating that words can also
heal.”
This was prompted by the Times’s September 13th story in which reporter Ian
Fisher wrote:
“[The Pope] began his speech, which ran over half an hour, by quoting a 14th-
century Byzantine emperor, Manuel II Paleologus, in a conversation with a
Òlearned PersianÓ on Christianity and Islam Ñ Òand the truth of both.Ó
ÒShow me just what Muhammad brought that was new, and there you will find
things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread the sword by the
faith he preached,Ó the pope quoted the emperor, in a speech to 1,500 students
and faculty.
“He went on to say that violent conversion to Islam was contrary to reason and
thus Òcontrary to GodÕs nature.Ó
“But the section on Islam made up just three paragraphs of the speech, and he
devoted the rest to a long examination of how Western science and philosophy
had divorced themselves from faith Ñ leading to the secularization of European
society that is at the heart of BenedictÕs worries.
“This, he said, has closed off the West from a full understanding of reality,
making it also impossible to talk with cultures for whom faith is
fundamental.”
Let’s note, first, that the Pope was merely reciting facts abundantly
documented by almost 1,400 years of history with regard to Islam, and by more
than 250 years of history with regard to the atheistic materialism of liberal-
socialism.
We don’t have to conjecture about the fact that Mohammed introduced a religion
based on conquest, plunder, and enslavement, all justified as the command of
Allah. It is not an assessment based on tenuous inference. It is what Muslims
themselves tell us every day when they justify repeated atrocities ranging from
9/11 to bombings in Madrid and London, and rampaging murder and destruction
elsewhere in reaction to the celebrated Danish newspaper cartoons.
Nor do we have to wonder about the motivation of Times editorialists in
demanding that the Pope back down from his statements. Since the rise to
prominence of liberalism’s foremost spokesman, John Dewey, at the end of the
19th century, liberals have steadfastly maintained that God is a fiction, that
morality therefore is an evolving set of standards limited only by the ability
of the socialist ruling elite to impose its views, either via raw power
(judicial fiat, failing victory in popular elections), or via manipulation of
public opinion. The latter is the role of socialist propaganda organs such as
the New York Times.
Liberalism’s “tolerance” is not what the term originally meant in the British-
American political tradition. John Locke’s well known 1689 “Letter Concerning
Toleration” was written after England had twice endured the the Stuart kings’
savage persecution of those who opposed their efforts to displace the Church of
England with Roman Catholicism.
Tolerance, as Locke defined it, was the freedom of individuals from the
arbitrary power of political authorities to make them conform to any specific
set of religious beliefs. Every individual should be free to pursue his own
conscience, which Locke was confident would in almost all cases mean faith in
Christianity of one denomination or another.
Locke’s view was held by the overwhelming majority of Englishmen and
Americans. It was no more than a realistic recognition of conditions in
America in 1787, when the Constitution was written. Some historians say that
the United States had more different Christian denominations than any other
country. Tolerance so defined was the sum of the meaning of the First
Amendment’s prohibition of Federal legislation aimed at making any religious
denomination an established national church.
As in George Owell’s “1984,” Big Brother in the New Deal began a NewSpeak
operation to distort the meaning of tolerance. Taking their cue from John
Dewey, liberals redefined toleration to mean that there can be no standards of
right or wrong. College students since the 1930s have been taught that the
moral and political traditions of the founding era are crimes against humanity,
that scientific socialism points the way to the unimportance of family,
faithfulness, sexual continence, hard work, and savings for the future of one’s
family. Liberal social justice is simply taking from people who work and save
and giving to those who don’t, in order to reach socialism’s holy grail, income
equality.
When a highly visible spokesman for Christian morality like the Pope states the
simple truth - that both Islam and socialism are false religions - Times
editorialists respond with their abiding faith in filth.

Standoff...
The Standoff Between Two Worldviews
by
Rob Hood
Anyone who says that there is no war on Christianity or war on Christmas need to wake up and face reality. Just this past week I witnessed a barrage of unnecessary attacks. These attacks would never happen to any other religion other than Christianity. Let’s look at some of the thing I speak of:
1) Five years after September 11, the ACLU in all their splendor consider Christians to be the terrorists rather than the Islamic extremists that have been attacking us for several years now. We were being attacking by these people in the 1990s and yet did nothing about it. If groups like the ACLU want to call Christians terrorists, I suppose they have the right to free speech just as anyone else, but they should at least provide some evidence for that most ignorant theory. Sure there have been less than a handful of radicals who have blown up abortion clinics here or there on occasion. These people are criminals just the same, but just how many Christians have you see lined up in the streets with AK-47s and RPGs burning flags of another country and shouting death chants to another religion or country? The ACLU is crazy. They have lost their minds comparing Christian pastors to Islamic extremists. Almost every attack on this nation in the last few years have been by Muslim terrorists. These attacks include:
The Islamic bombing of the U.S. Marine barracks in Beruit in 1983 that killed 243 marines
The Islamic hijacking of the Achille Lauro cruise ship and murder of an elderly wheelchair bound American
The Islamic bombing of Pan Am flight 103 in 1988 that killed 270 people
The Islamic bombing of the World Trade Center in 1993 with the attempt to topple one building on top of the other.
The Islamic bombing of U.S. military barracks in Saudia Arabia in 1995 that killed 292 people
The Islamic bombing of the embassies in Kenya and Tanzania in 1997 that killed 243 and injured more than 5000
The Islamic bombing of the USS Cole in 2000 that killed 17 sailors
The Islamic hijacking and destruction of the World Trade Center towers on September 11, 2001 that killed more than 3000.
The Islamic train bombings of Madrid (Spain), London, Bali, and the daily bombings in Iraq, Israel, and around the world.
Now, out of all of those attacks, how many of these attackers were Christian? How many were Hindu? How many were Buddhist? How many were Pagan? NONE! ALL OF THEM WERE ISLAM! Now how can anyone who is America claim that Christianity and radical Islam is not different?
2) Once again Christianity is debunked and compared with terrorists organizations. Recently Rosie O’Donnell made an arrogant and totally off the wall statement in comparing Islamic extremists to conservative Christianity. Perhaps the mode of ACLU thinking is beginning to rub off on some people. I never thought she would be bold enough to make a claim that is false, bigoted, and irresponsible. All the time I hear that Christians are bigoted because we hold traditional Biblical values set forth by God Himself. Now who’s the bigot? It seems to me that the world of left wing talk shows and ACLU leaders are pretty bigoted themselves.
3)Many in the secular world feel that Christianity is a threat to their selfish and self-righteous way of life. They feel threatened because they do not want to face personal responsibility to a higher authority than themselves. The war on Christianity is not limited to the United States. It is a world wide effort to silence Christianity. Recently in Britain Stephen Green, of The Christian Voice, was arrested for handing out leaflets with scripture on them about the Biblical view of homosexuality during a rally for homosexuals. Many of you wonder how long it will be before this type of persecution hits the United States. Well you are late in your thinking because it happened in 2004 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. A similar case with a similar outcome. A group of four Christians from Repent America were protesting a homosexual rally and were arrested for nothing more than quoting Bible verses and using freedom of speech.
4) Biblical Creation has been under constant attack for numerous years. While I a firm believer in the creation, some are not. What’s really bad is that the so called scientific community has literally brainwashed Americans into believing some hogwash about how everything is here by accident and how everything evolved over millions of years. There has never been any evidence whatsoever to say that any of this ever took place. The Darwinists seem to be forgetting that Darwin himself had doubts about his own theory of evolution at times. Anyone who does not believe in creation should go ahead and throw away their Bibles because they probably won’t believe the rest of it either. The whole point in Jesus coming to this world and dying on that cross started when sin entered the world after creation in the Book of Genesis. Jesus and Creation are connected. Many parents now choose to homeschool their children because of the teaching of this silly nonsense that has never been proven. As a mater of fact some creation scientists actually believe that the earth is less than 6000 years old given the genealogy of the Bible and taking into account a literal six day creation time period. One of the Ten Commandments involves the Sabbath which is the day of rest. Now, if you don’t believe in creation, then why follow this commandment? This commandment represents the seventh day. The day after creation, God rested, not because he was tired, but because he chose to do so. If creation was not literally six days long, then why would he give us a commandment that represents the seventh day if it did not happen?
5) Again we see the ACLU attacking Christianity. At New Mexico State University the ACLU is crying about religious discrimination because at a football game there was open Christian prayer. So what is so awful about this? This has been going on for decades and they now want to challenge it? In another event the ACLU Challenged a New Orleans school board meeting because they opened with an invocation. When does it end? I happen to be a member of a local Republican club and was asked to say the prayer as we always do before we started the meeting. First we said the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag and did include the words “UNDER GOD” and will continue to do so regardless of whether someone takes it out or not. Next it was my turn. So I led the party members in prayer as I have before and yes I did pray for our troops and our country’s leadership, the president, and I prayed in the name of Jesus just as I would if I had been at church. Now, let me let you in on a little secret. This is the difference in Republicans and Democrats. We Republicans can still pray in the name of Jesus at an open public meeting in a courthouse without a word being said. Try doing that in a Democrat meeting and you’ll get thrown out of the club. I hope you see the difference now! It’s a simple explanation as to how this was done. You see I am a Christian. They asked me to say the prayer and I did so as I believe. The simple truth is that if you want me to pray, don’t be surprised when I pray what I believe. If you disagree with it, then get someone else to pray, because I bow only to God, not left wing separatists and neither should you.
6)Christianity in itself is slowly being criminalized overseas and may soon be that way here in the good ole U.S. of A. In some ways I think it is illegal here. Recently a Navy Chaplain was court-marshaled for praying in the name of Jesus. Well you know it’s getting bad when a preacher can’t even pray without getting into trouble. Now keep in mind that this happened to a Navy Chaplain named Lt. Gordon James Klingenschmitt. Now it seems to me that the U.S Military is the very people who are to protect our freedom of speech and such. Here they are joining the enemy. They had might as well join Bin Laden if they are going to continue down this rugged path. Anyone who has not been keeping up with these battles should read The Criminalization of Christianity by Janet Folger.
I have given you a few vague examples of Christianity under attack in this country and abroad and have provided references below for those who want to read the whole story for themselves. However, have you ever wondered just where these people get their funding for such vile acts of persecution? It seems to me that you and I provide the funds for others to slam us. That’s right. You and I are paying for our own persecution but it don’t have to be that way at all. Right now as we speak there is a bill floating around in House of Representatives that could grant the wishes and dreams of millions. This bill is capable of defunding groups like the ACLU, Planned Parenthood, etc. These groups would still exist, but would no longer be able to get funds from the U.S. tax payer. The bill is called the Public Expression of Religion Act or simply PERA. Matt Staver of Liberty Counsel (www.lc.org) has already testified before congress on this matter. Some are saying the bill is long overdue and I myself have signed petitions for the bill to be voted on in the House soon. If you would like to ask your Representative and Senator to support this act please call (202) 225-3121 for the House of Representatives switchboard and (202) 224-3121 for the Senate switchboard or drop your senator and congressman an email about this act. More info on this act can be found at :
http://www.legion.org/?section=pub_relations&subsection=pr_listreleases&content=pr_press_release&id=289
and can also be found at http://stoptheaclu.blogspot.com/2005_05_01_stoptheaclu_archive.html .
While Conservative thinkers have been under attack it’s good to see those who are willing to stand up and say NO to those who wish to turn our country into a secularized nation without responsibility or dignity. It is imperative that we continue to elect good-hearted conservatives to public office to insure that groups like the ACLU don’t communize America. After all the ACLU’s original founder was openly communist and if you look at the 1963 communist goals and look at today’s ACLU and left wing goals of other groups and members of the Democratic party, there is not much difference and some of theses goals are being fought for right now as we speak. take a look for yourself at http://liberalsvsus.info/1963-congress.htm Then make your decision as to who you are going to follow. I know whose side I’m on. What about you? THis November when you vote, remember whose side you are on and most importantly remember what the ACLU stands for and who stands behind them.

As I sat in the hearing room, I felt a cold chill – like the chilling effect this court-martial will have on our free speech. For this analogy to be accurate, however, I would need to be sitting in a freezer.

Why Church?...
Why go to Church? (This is good)
If you’re spiritually alive, you’re going to love this! If you’re
spiritually dead, you won’t want to read it. If you’re spiritually
curious, there is still hope!
Why Go To Church?
A Church goer wrote a letter to the editor of a newspaper and complained
that it made no sense to go to church every Sunday. “I’ve gone for 30
years now,” he wrote, “and in that time I have heard something like
3,000 sermons. But for the life of me, I can’t remember a single one of
them. So, I think I’m wasting my time and the pastors are wasting theirs
by giving sermons at all.”
This started a real controversy in the “Letters to the Editor” column,
much to the delight of the editor. It went on for weeks until someone
wrote this clincher:
“I’ve been married for 30 years now. In that time my wife has cooked
some 32,000 meals. But, for the life of me, I cannot recall the entire
men u for a single one of those meals But I do know this.. They all
nourished me and gave me the strength I needed to do my work. If my wife
had not given me these meals, I would be physically dead today.
Likewise, if I had not gone to church for nourishment, I would be
spiritually dead today!” When you are DOWN to nothing.… God is UP to
something! Faith sees the invisible, believes the incredible and
receives the impossible! Thank God for our physical AND our spiritual
nourishment!
All right, now that you’re done reading, send it on! I think everyone
should read this! “When Satan is knocking at your door, simply say,
“Jesus, could you get that for me?”

LAW OF THE LAND
Plan to cut ACLU money pipeline advances
Congressman’s effort would prevent group from collecting taxpayers’ cash

A plan that would cut off the pipeline of taxpayer money that now flows into
American Civil Liberties Union coffers has been advanced by the House Judiciary
Committee.
The Public Expression of Religion Act, introduced by Indiana Congressman John
Hostettler, now will move to the full House for a vote, he said in his
announcement this week.
“This is a big victory for Americans who care about our rich religious heritage
in this country,” he said. “There is a lot of excitement about this bill.”
It has been vigorously supported by the American Legion, where Commander Rees
Lloyd described it as “a long overdue victory for justice, freedom, democracy,
and the First Amendment.”
“The American Legion has fought for reform of the attorney fee provisions of
federal law which the ACLU has exploited to reap millions of dollars in
taxpayer-paid attorney fees in Establishment Clause cases,” Lloyd’s statement
said.
He said the ACLU has used the threat of the fees as ‘a club’ to bludgeon local
elected bodies into surrendering to the ACLU’s “secular cleansing demands.”
The plan came about after the ACLU, “the Taliban of American liberal
secularism,” according to Lloyd, sued to tear down a cross on a rock outcrop
erected by veterans as a memorial to World War I veterans in 1934 in the remote
Mojave Desert.
Officials noted someone would have to drive 11 miles off the highway “to be
offended” by the cross.
There had been no complaints against the memorial in 60 years, until the ACLU
sued to have it removed, and then asked for and got $63,000.
“The American Legion,” said former American Legion National Commander Tom Bock,
“is in full support” of the plan. He said it would take away the authority of
judges to award attorney fees to the ACLU in lawsuits under the Establishment
Clause.
The law, approved in 1976, originally was to help individual citizens bring
lawsuits against state officials who had deprived them of their constitutional
rights. However, Hostettler believes it has been abused by groups like the
ACLU, who claim any public official who expresses religious beliefs or displays
a memorial with religious imagery, like the crosses at Arlington National
Cemetery, is promoting the “establishment of religion.”
For example, in 2001 Iowa county officials removed a Ten Commandments monument
from a courthouse lawn rather than face the attorney’s fees threatened. And in
2004, Los Angeles removed a tiny cross from the county seal when it was
threatened with those fees.
Kansas Sen. Sam Brownback has similar legislation pending in the Senate.
In an endorsement of the plan, the American Legion quoted Thomas Jefferson:
“The germ of dissolution of our federal government is in our federal judiciary;
an irresponsible body, working like gravity by night and by day, gaining a
little today and a little tomorrow, and advancing in its noiseless step like a
thief … until all shall be usurped from the States, and the government of all
be consolidated into one.”
One such case that currently is grinding its way through the court system
involves the Mt. Soledad Veterans Memorial in California.
The ACLU has been fighting to remove that for 17 years, even though 76 percent
of the people in San Diego where it is located want it to stay.

Turning the tide...
Could “Path to 9/11” Turn Election in Favor of GOP?
Before the Sunday night airing of “The Path to 9/11” by ABC, Democrats had gained enough momentum to make a legitimate bid at taking over control of the U.S. House in November. The numbers were tight but were definitely “trending in favor of the Democrats,” according to several published reports.
The big question in advance of Part 11 of the miniseries tonight is this: Can the truth in “Path to 9/11” provide enough of a “bump” to keep Republicans in majority status?
Thus far, “Path to 9/11” seems to show that the Clinton administration was inept at best and dangerously pre-occupied at worse. However, is that message resonating with Americans in the “likely to vote” category?
Other important questions are as follows: Because Bill Clinton is no longer in office, could he be vulnerable to civil and or criminal charges based on dereliction of his constitutional duties while president? Could the 9/11 survivors file a class-action suite against the Clintonistas based on “Path to 9/11?”
Most Americans do not have the stomach for a drawn-out, criminal, or even civil, trial of Slick Willie and the Clintonistas.
Still, just the thought of Slick, Madeline Albright, Sandy Berger, Bruce Lindsey and all the other Clinton thugs in pin stripes brings joy to this conservative’s old, black heart!

Jonah...
Q: Was Jonah in the belly of the “great fish” for three days or for three thousand years?
A: There are many Christians who should believe he was in the fish for three thousand years—or longer—if they are consistent with how they approach Scripture.
Many Christians oppose the belief that God created in six literal days. They quote 2 Peter 3:8, “One day is with the Lord as a thousand years.” On this basis, they say that the days of creation could be thousands of years. But if they were consistent, using this same logic, one could translate Jonah 2:17 this way:
Now the LORD had prepared a great fish to swallow Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish THREE THOUSAND YEARS.
This is nonsense, of course. The context does not allow for using this phrase from the New Testament to determine the meaning of the Hebrew word “day” in Genesis 1. Peter is simply pointing out that God is outside of time, and thus is not limited by natural processes and time.
Genesis shows clearly that God created everything in six literal days, which is exactly what the Hebrew words—in context—mean.
For more information on the length of the days in Genesis, see http://www.answersingenesis.org/creation/v18/i1/sixdays.asp

NEWS...
Nuts and Boltons
This Thursday the Senate Foreign Relations Committee will once again take up the nomination of John Bolton to be the U.S. representative to the United Nations. Since his recess appointment last year, Ambassador Bolton has led the way with a candor that the United Nations has not heard since the days of Jeane Kirkpatrick or Daniel Moynihan. With the United States taking a lead role in the War on Terror, America desperately needs someone who will not back down to the overpaid and under-accountable bureaucrats of Turtle Bay. Additionally, it was Ambassador Bolton who forced the United Nations to recognize the genocide in Darfur and to take action on it. It was John Bolton who helped restore peace, if even temporarily, to Lebanon - working alongside France of all countries! Some in the Senate like to paint Ambassador Bolton as someone who is out of control and a war hawk. However they fail to explain how such a man could be nominated for the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize, as John Bolton has been. The U.S. has long suffered from a lack of strong leadership at the U.N. Ambassador Bolton has won over many former critics. However, Senate Democrats and some Republicans still balk at his nomination. If the U.S. Senate is serious about securing America’s safety it should quickly confirm John Bolton

Knights Banished from the Field
Religious liberty interests of conservative Christians continue to be threatened across the country--particularly on college campuses. This time, it is the Catholic men’s organization the Knights of Columbus that has fallen victim to the sword of political correctness--and to supposed “non-discrimination” rules that discriminate vigorously against those with traditional viewpoints. Although the Knights have been a recognized student group at the University of Wisconsin’s main campus in Madison since 1976, the school this summer decided to drop recognition of the group after concluding that their membership requirements--one must be a Catholic male over age 18--violate federal, state, city, and university nondiscrimination laws and policies. But the U. S. Supreme Court long ago decided that the First Amendment guarantees of free speech and free association also include the right of organizations to exclude those who disagree with their message or violate their membership standards. As recently as July (in a case in which FRC filed a friend-of-the-court brief), the U.S. 7th Circuit Court ruled in a similar case in favor of the Christian Legal Society against Southern Illinois University School of Law. As the Alliance Defense Fund warned the University of Wisconsin, this application of their “nondiscrimination” policy “actually diminishes diversity and inhibits the free exchange of ideas.” They should reverse it now, rather than attempt to defend it in court.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FRC on the Front Line
Yesterday, FRC, with the help of our good friends at Alliance Defense Fund, filed a friend-of-the-court brief in the Maryland Court of Appeals (the highest state court in Maryland) in defense of marriage. As in so many other states, homosexual activists are asking the courts to do what they could never accomplish in the legislature - overturn society’s oldest and Biblically-ordained institution, marriage. The homosexual activists seek to re-define marriage to include relationships besides one man and one woman. Since the battle is being waged in the courts rather than the legislature, FRC is helping to make the case that “same-sex” marriage is not marriage. It’s something radically different, and it is entirely rational for state legislature not to permit same-sex couples to marry. “Same-sex” couples are not the same as “opposite-sex” couples, either in terms of procreation, optimal child-rearing, fidelity, stability, etc. Thus, it is not “discriminatory” for state legislatures to refuse to redefine the institution of marriage so that homosexual couples can participate in it. The battle for marriage is far from over. That is why FRC, along with our allies, continues to defend marriage wherever a tyrannical judge or careless politician puts it at risk

business...
Unfinished Business
Today the U.S. Congress returns from its summer recess to a backlog of legislative issues. Besides judges, appropriations, Internet gambling, immigration and a host of other topics stand the only major pro-life measure in front of the 109th Congress. This legislation would make it a federal crime to take minors across state lines to circumvent state parental notification and consent laws. Versions of the legislation have passed both chambers of Congress, however Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) and the Senate Democrats he leads, are blocking Congress from sending a compromise bill to the President to sign. Senator Reid’s efforts are an attempt to appease pro-abortion forces months before an election while blocking legislation that is supported by a large majority of legislators and Americans in general. By blocking Congress from moving forward Sen. Reid is holding vulnerable teens hostage to those who would do them harm. Retiring Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-TN) says he has the votes needed to move the legislation forward but it is unsure at this time if he will dedicate the time needed to do so. It would be a tremendous legacy for Senator Frist if one of his last acts in Congress were getting this important legislation passed.

Politicizing Religion

September 1, 2006—I have noticed an interesting trend on the radical left recently. Parts of the left are engaged in a propaganda war aimed at “taking back religion” from the right. Or at least neutralizing it.

Life...
Life Before Birth
In 1973, the U.S. Supreme Court sanctioned abortion on demand. In so doing, the justices became party to a human rights violation of monumental proportions.
Since 1973, 40 million human lives have been exterminated through abortion in the U.S. That is nearly seven times the number of Jews who perished at the hands of Adolph Hitler, and roughly equal to the number of victims slaughtered by Joseph Stalin.
However, unlike those murdered by Hitler and Stalin, the 40 million fetuses killed in America had no political, social, or religious enemies. Rather, they were innocent human lives waiting to experience the blessings of birth.
Those who believe that abortion should be an inalienable right refuse to accept an indisputable fact: A fetus is human life before birth
That says it all. Call that fetus what you wish, the fact remains it is human life. Albeit, a life without power, voting rights, free speech or any other protection afforded the born. However, it is a human life, nevertheless.
In addition, human life, in all forms, is a precious gift from God regardless of how inconvenient the pregnancy may be. Abortion, then, is a deliberate, pre-meditated destruction of one of God’s greatest blessings.
Abortion a superseding of divine will by mortal will, if you will. Those who do so shall be held accountable at a final, and eternal, judgment that no one can afford to lose.
Which is why, even in cases involving the most despicable sub-human killers, our society affords layer-upon-layer of legal review and appeal before using execution as the ultimate punishment.
Unfortunately, while liberals fight to the bitter end to save the pathetic life of a thug convicted of multiple murders, there is no mercy or fight in them for the unborn--those with life before birth.
May good and righteousness ultimately prevail in the hearts of the American people, and replace a mindset that tolerates abortion on demand with one that celebrates “Life before Birth.”

What America Needs...
Remember September 11, 2001
http://itwas911.us/
-----------------------------------------
What America Needs Today
by
Rob Hood
It can be said today that America is a divided nation, but divided about what? Once again war has been the dividing issue. The Civil War temporarily split the United States in half, but we were made whole again later after the war.
Wars do split people, families, and nations. Everyone has their own personal feelings about what goes on during a time of war, but everyone seems to agree that war is terrible, tragic, and at the same time, almost inevitable. Cultures clash, ideas confuse and anger, and actions often result in counter action.
It’s more than just the war on terror that has America split right now. It’s a combination of many things that has America in an uproar. Of course the war on terror is probably number one and both sides of the political spectrum seem to share their unchanging views on how that war should be fought. The left side believes that the armed invasion of Iraq and the ousting of Saddam Hussein has created more terrorists. It’s hard to say whether or not they are right. Perhaps they may be right, but then again we are fighting enemies that have been around much longer than the war in Iraq. The terrorists that we fight in Iraq are from Syria, Iran, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, UAE, and numerous Middle Eastern places. Not all Middle Eastern countries view us as a threat but there are factions of radical Islam that view the West as evil and must be destroyed. PERIOD!
We are not in Iraq to obtain oil. That could have been done much easier and with much less time. We are not in Iraq to “Christianize” the Iraqi people even though hundreds are coming to know Jesus Christ as their personal savior now that Saddam’s secret police are gone and the people have more freedom. We are not in Iraq to harm the Iraqi people. We are in Iraq because Saddam Hussein refused to follow resolution after resolution of the UN and that the UN was too weak and ineffective to do anything about it. We did not want Saddam Hussein selling biological and chemical weapons to foreign terrorist groups like Hamas, Hezbollah, and Al Qaeda. The United States could not afford to take a strike from a WMD that any terrorist group would surely use if they ever got their hands on some.
The same goes for Iran as well. We don’t have a real dispute with the Iranian leadership building a nuclear weapon because we know that the Iranians are not stupid enough to use one against us. They know we would shoot it down and deploy our own and obliterate Iran into dust the very hour that they decided to attack. The Iranian leadership may be bold and arrogant but they are not stupid. However, what if Iran did build a nuclear weapon and sell it to a terror group? What would happen? That is a dangerous thing to think about and it could happen. That is the reason we have engaged the Middle East so aggressively. We are trying everything in our power to keep WMD out of the hands of terrorist groups who wish to annihilate the United States, Irael, and our allies from existence.
Many feel that diplomacy is best, but I disagree on that grounds that negotiations are not possible with someone who wants to cut off your head because it will win him a title in the afterlife. Of course this won’t really happen, but the fanatical Islamic extremists actually believe that if they kill Americans and Jews they will obtain 70 virgins in Heaven and obtain Allah’s approval. That is indeed and sick and twisted way of looking at any religion. How can you negotiate with someone like this? It’s impossible.
On the second front, the subject of religion has America split as well. On one side, it is believed that there is actually a wall of “separation of church and state”. For the most part they are right. There is such thing as a separation of church and state. The state cannot declare a certain religion to be the religion of the land that everyone has to follow. Outside of that, the separation is a myth. The fouding fathers never meant for public prayer and Christmas decorations to be against the law.
People are divided because the right feels like we are being betrayed and persecuted. Day after day we see our symbols torn down, outlawed, and attacked both verbally and physically. Christmas time is no longer a time of peace, but a time of lawsuits and strife because one side wishes to ignore 2006 years of history and over 200 years of American tradition by replacing Christmas with anything that ignores the real meaning thereof.
The Ten Commandments continue to be torn down, evolution is infiltrated into the minds of the young confusing them about the truth and fiction, and our young people are bombarded by myths that homosexuality is normal,extra-marital sex is normal and o.k. and that abortion is a choice, instead of being taught about personal responsibility and truth.
What America needs today more than anything is Godly leaders and prayer. When was the last time you heard one of our nation’s leaders earnestly pray for this land and the people? The prophet Jeremiah actually wept for his nation in prayer. When was the last time you prayed for our country? Today our country is being torn apart by strife that is totally unnecessary and absolutely solvable if only we take the time to get on our knees, repent of our sins, and ask God to heal this land. We need to be on our knees every day asking God to provide us leaders in whom He will be pleased that will do His will and that will, through Him, bring stability and healing back to America and put things back to the way we once were.
It’s not exactly a problem what we need to as it is who we need to ask to help us. Politicians will not solve America’s problems and surely won’t resolve world problems, but God, if we ask Him, can. We need better, Godly leaders today who are not afraid to take a stand for what is right, and not be ashamed of Who allowed him/her to be a leader.
I want to make a challenge to those of you who are reading this. If you are a Christian I want to make a challenge to you. Every day for the next 90 days, I want you to be in prayer for our nation, our troops, the problems in Iraq, and our leaders in America. I want you to pray that the people in America see where we are headed and that we obtain God fearing leaders who will put us back on the right track before it is too late.
For the next 90 days I urge you to pray for :
1)more Godly leaders to guide the nation according to His will
2)safety and comfort of our troops in Iraq and abroad
3)wisdom and knowledge necessary to know the difference between the Godly leaders and the unGodly ones when choosing one
4)wisdom for our leaders both political, religious, and military to know what to do in difficult circumstances
5)for our president as a our political leader and commander in chief that he will seek God’s will and not his own for America
Go ahead and take The Hood Challenge and pray every day about these things for the next 90 days. Prayer does work and it does change things but we must be willing to change our ways first and only then can our land be revived and healed. More than ever, America needs prayer. In conclusion I am reminded of a particlular verse in the Bible that speaks so plainly about our nation today:
If My people who are called by My name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14
