NEA Changes its mind again...

NEA now has re-introduced its original resolution, another instance of bait and
switch. It would endorse homosexual and other alternate forms of ‘marriage.’ See
story below.

Alabama Lawmaker: Teachers Should Divest From NEA’s Liberal Agenda

By Jim Brown
June 30, 2006

(AgapePress) - An Alabama lawmaker is encouraging members of the National
Education Association in his state to consider leaving the union because of its
liberal political activism. Meanwhile, delegates at the NEA’s 2006 Annual
Meeting in Orlando, Florida, are preparing to vote on a resolution endorsing
same-sex “marriage.”

Alabama State Representative Gerald Allen, who sponsored the state’s
constitutional amendment to ban homosexual marriage, is denouncing the NEA
proposal to amend the organization’s diversity policy to endorse homosexual
marriage. He has urged Alabama’s 300 NEA delegates to either boycott the
convention or vote against the resolution.

Allen says education leaders, not only in Alabama but across the U.S., “must
take a stand and say [to the NEA leadership], ‘If you’re going to go in this
direction and try to indoctrinate our children with this type of materials,
then we’re going to maybe form our own association.’ That’s one of the things I
think needs to be looked at.”

In fact, the state lawmaker says conservative teachers who have or are
considering NEA membership should start looking for alternatives to that
powerful union. “You’ve got this liberal agenda, with the NEA trying their very
best to get the heart and souls and minds of our children and to indoctrinate
them,” he states.

Allen believes homosexual activists within the NEA have a long-term plan in
mind for America’s school children after they have been thoroughly
indoctrinated with pro-homosexual ideas. “Once they grow up and become adults
and policymakers themselves, then certainly they’ll sponsor constitutional
amendments and turn things around,” he says.

The Alabama legislator suggests that those pushing pro-homosexual policy in the
National Education Association want the next generation schooled in their
ideology, because those children are society’s future leaders and shapers, and
these activists know it. “That’s exactly what is on their minds,” Allen says.

The NEA recently modified its proposal supporting homosexual marriage to focus
on the seven states where civil unions or homosexual “marriages” are legal.
However, recent reports affirm that both the original and the modified
resolutions have been introduced for the delegates’ consideration.

NEA Annual Meeting Marked by Emotion-Driven Debate
The original proposed amendment, designated B-8, was submitted by the NEA’s
Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Caucus but was later watered down by the
educators union’s Resolution Committee to endorse only same-sex unions in the
seven U.S. states where such unions are currently legal. Now, however, the
Resolutions Committee has decided that the original (B-8) and revised (B-10)
amendments will both be voted on by the union’s Representative Assembly.
Critics of the original measure claim it endorses not only homosexual marriage
but also polygamy.

Diane Lenning, a California delegate and former chair of the Republican
Educators Caucus, says the resolution endorsing homosexual marriage across the
board is being pushed by homosexual NEA members who are putting their own needs
first. She says these pro-homosexual members have been “emotion-driven” and
have not considered the total spectrum of the implications of their amendment.

“For instance,” Lenning contends, the homosexual marriage proponents have not
considered “the legality of some of these resolutions, the constitutionality of
some of these, or … whether it infringes on or violates the rights of
others.” She says she hopes these amendments, if they do not fail, will pass
concurrently, so that the limiting effect of the revised resolution will
prevail.

Feelings have run high throughout the debate over the resolutions, and Lenning
notes that she was surprised by the comments NEA president Reg Weaver made to
an audience that included many women teachers and retired educators. Delegates
at the convention say Weaver at one point held up a copy of an American Family
Association newsletter detailing the union’s proposal to endorse same-sex
marriage and called the AFA document “a crock of sh--.”

Lenning says that kind of profane outburst “is not characteristic of our
president,” whom she describes as “a very nice, professional gentleman.”
Although she cannot say exactly what might have led to the national NEA
leader’s profane remarks, she asserts, “something must have really teed him
off.”

Reportedly, Weaver went on to say that he would not let “outside groups”
dictate NEA policy. The union president insists that his organization does not
take a position on homosexual marriage; however, the NEA’s California
affiliate, the California Teachers Association, overwhelmingly endorsed a
homosexual marriage bill in its State Assembly last year.

That Fetus:  “An Inconvenient Pregnancy” or “Life Before Birth?”

As Americans struggle to cope with the gut-wrenching issues of the day, one concern constantly dominates the social wars from one generation to the next, unabated in intensity and emotional power. That issue is America’s love-hate relationship with abortion.

Those who favor a woman’s right to terminate a human fetus
should consider a thought that captures the spirit of this debate, eloquently and succinctly, all at once:

Life before birth!

That says it all, really. Call that fetus what you wish, but the fact remains it is human life.
Albeit, a life without power, voting rights, free speech or any other protection afforded the born. But a human life, nonetheless.

A precious gift from God----regardless of how inconvenient the pregnancy may be to the vessel blessed with the greatest gift He can bestow.

Willfully ending a human life is, in essence, a declaration that one is somehow justified in destroying one of our Creator’s most spectacular achievements.

A superseding of Divine Will by mortal will, if you will.

And if you supplant Divine Will with your own in order to end a human life, someday you will have to account for your decision before God ---- in a judgment you simply can not afford to lose!

Which is why, even in cases involving the most despicable sub-human killers, our society affords layer-upon-layer of legal review and recourse before implementing death as the officially-sanctioned punishment by the state.

Unfortunately, while liberals fight to the bitter end to save the pathetic life of a thug convicted of multiple murders, there is no mercy or fight in them for the unborn-----those who have life before birth.

And while they work 24/7 to prevent executions of convicted killers because of newly-minted concerns about the ‘pain’ inflicted by lethal injections, liberal dogma is perfectly OK with the fact that 40 million human lives have been purged, courtesy of the Roe V Wade Fetus Death Certificate, issued in 1973.

40 million! Nearly seven times greater than those who perished in the Holocaust. About the number Joseph Stalin butchered in the USSR.

But the 40 million lives slaughtered by Americans were not political, social or religious enemies of anyone.

They were innocent young human lives waiting for a chance to experience the American Dream----but who were destroyed because each was
“An Inconvenient Pregnancy.”

May good and righteousness prevail in the hearts of Americans and replace a mindset that tolerates ‘An Inconvenient Pregnancy’ with one that celebrates “Life before Birth!”

The Cure...

Twelve-Step Feminist Cure
by Carey Roberts

It’s a condition that’s known to be chronic, progressive, and highly
contagious. With my own eyes I’ve seen bright, caring women fall under the sway
of its deceptive allure. They soon begin to speak and act like someone
possessed.

Its initiates are taught that women are “strong and invincible,” but at the
same time are the victims of an implacable patriarchal conspiracy. These self-
contradictory beliefs induce a stress-producing condition known as cognitive
dissonance. To relieve the discomfort, the girls are instructed to immerse
themselves in the radical ideology.

The next stage of the disease is marked by a loss of sense of humor, self-
centeredness, and a decreasing ability to perceive reality accurately. Some
adherents refuse to use lip-stick or brush their hair, believing such actions
contribute to their “objectification.”

As the condition progresses, serious psychiatric symptoms begin to appear,
including paranoia, hysteria, and intense anger. Some of these persons become
diagnosed with conditions such as borderline personality disorder. [www.
orangecounty.net/html/living_article5.html]

In its most extreme form, the disorder becomes life-threatening. Just look at
the picture of high-priestess Andrea Dworkin that was taken shortly before her
untimely death last year: www.theage.com
au/ffximage/2005/04/15/andrea_dworkin_
narrowweb__200x266.jpg

Somehow Ms. Dworkin doesn’t appear particularly liberated or enlightened. In
fact she looks downright miserable.

It’s hard to dispute the fact that millions of women have been duped by the
chimera of radical feminism. How will we help these poor ladies?

One program, Rachel’s Vineyard, offers weekend retreats to help women (and men)
grieve the loss of their aborted children. That’s a good start.

But many feminists have become skeptical of the value of therapy. Traditional
cognitive approaches don’t work, of course, because these women have been
taught that reason and logical thinking are the cause of their distress.

Other women got involved in a rogue form of counseling called “feminist
psychotherapy,” which teaches patients that patriarchy is the cause of all
their woes. [www.womensfreedom.org/artic552.htm] Imagine going to a counselor
to get help for your abusive tendencies, and being told join the N.O.W. for the
cure! Wonder how much they charge for that advice?

Obviously psychotherapy will make only a dent in the epidemic. What we need is
a massive de-programming effort to help the millions of Gender Studies grads
who now endure lives of resentment and barren solitude. They urgently need a
helping hand – what will we do?

The solution is a 12-step self-help program—you guessed it: Feminists
Anonymous. With no apologies to the Friends of Bill, here are the 12 Steps to
gender recovery:

1. We admitted we were powerless over feminism—that our lives had become
bitter, lonely, and meaningless.

2. We came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to
sanity.

3. We made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as
we understood Him. (That’s right, Him. Now’s the time to get rid of that Wiccan
broomstick stashed in your closet.)

4. We made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves. (Hint:
Humility is the first step in the path to self-awareness.)

5. We admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact
nature of our wrongs.

6. We were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character—
despite the self-professed good intentions of Betty Friedan and Gloria
Steinem.

7. We humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.

8. We made a list of all men and women we had harmed, living and unborn, and
became willing to make amends to them. (Practice saying, “I’m sorry” in front
of the mirror each morning.)

9. We made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so
would be impossible, or would injure them or others.

10. We continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong, promptly
admitted it. (If you haven’t already taken your name off the Feminist Majority
alert list, do it now.)

11. We sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact
with God, as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us
and the power to carry that out.

12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to
carry this message to feminists, and to practice these principles in all our
affairs.

Over the years I’ve seen far too many families destroyed, too many men broken,
too many children harmed, and too many women forced into “choices” that they
later came to regret.

These women deserve our compassion and understanding. Let’s put an end to the
insanity.

Capitol Criminals...

Capitol Criminals

By Nathan Tabor

Since the Clintons left office, Democrats have been a little dull, resisting the urge to engage in high crimes and misdemeanors.  But, lo and behold, now we’re recovering from a Democratic crime wave in Washington.  And, what’s so fascinating about the situation is that the self-proclaimed party of peace and love has members who are engaging in downright dangerous, even violent acts.

And they’re getting off scot-free.

First, there’s the case of Patrick Kennedy—one of the few impaired drivers in the U.S. who apparently never has to worry about failing a field sobriety test, since Capitol Police refused to administer one to him.

Fresh from rehab, the junior Kennedy suggests he now feels good—presumably without the use of controlled substances.  Kennedy sought treatment after his automobile crashed in the middle of the night near the U.S. Capitol.  While the police said he appeared intoxicated, they didn’t test him for it.

And so, a drunk/drugged driver walks free, without any type of punishment.

Given the number of Americans who die each year from drug or alcohol-related crashes—nearly 17,000 in 2004—the kids-glove treatment of Kennedy is a national disgrace.

It also makes you wonder—why should any D.C. teen stop indulging in drugs and alcohol, when he knows that a Congressman can easily indulge and not pay the penalty?

But Capitol criminal activity does not begin and end with Kennedy.  There’s also the case of Rep. Cynthia McKinney, who slugged a police officer but was not indicted.  What makes this injustice all the more appalling is that McKinney blamed the incident on racial profiling.  As House Speaker Dennis Hastert (R-Illinois) indicated, this embarrassing situation was not the result of profiling, but the result of an ego in overdrive.

Physical assaults are inexcusable.  An attack on a law enforcement officer is reprehensible.  Why should any D.C. teen respect police, when a Congresswoman doesn’t—and gets away with it?

Here the Democrats are, condemning President George W. Bush for being a warmongering cowboy, when they themselves are wreaking havoc on D.C. streets, showing absolutely no respect for the law—or those who enforce it.

I’m not sure how any Democrat can, with a straight face, insist on talking about peace in Iraq when members of the party are disrupting the peace on city streets. In addition, we hear ad nauseam about how the Washington ethics scandal will bring down Republicans in Congress, and yet the mainstream media seem to ignore the fact that drunk driving and assault are clearly unethical behavior.  Was Rep. Tom DeLay really any more dangerous than Congressman Kennedy after a bender, or Rep. McKinney on a bad hair day?

Of course, the Democrats have all-too-willing accomplices in the national news media. For network reporters, violent acts are not the unforgivable sin—a refusal to enact campaign finance legislation is.  With national polls showing that many members of the national news media support abortion but appear to be personally opposed to church attendance, it shouldn’t be surprising that reporters have a skewed idea of what constitutes morality.

In the end, it really doesn’t matter if a Congressional representative presents himself or herself as a champion of the poor, the downtrodden, the addicted, the mentally ill, the learning impaired, and the disabled.  If he or she engages in criminal conduct and is not punished, he or she is, in fact, an elitist, believing that laws to protect public welfare are for the little people—not those who work under the Capitol dome.

It’s time Congressional Democrats got a handle on the crime problem—their own.

Governor Who Fired Pro-Family Employee Appoints Openly Homosexual Judge

By Gudrun Schultz

ANNAPOLIS, Maryland, June 26, 2006 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Governor Robert Ehrlich
has appointed an openly homosexual judge to the Baltimore District Court, one
week after firing an appointee to the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit
Authority for speaking out against the homosexual lifestyle.

Judge Christopher Panos, 47, has been appointed as special master to the city
Circuit Court family division. Panos has been in a homosexual relationship with
partner Dennis Cashen for 17 years, and the two are raising a young girl, Cate,
reported the AP.

Last week Governor Ehrlich fired Transit board member Robert J. Smith over his
comments on a television talk show, where he said that the homosexual lifestyle
is one of “sexual deviancy.” A transit board colleague, who is openly
homosexual, complained about the remarks and demanded Smith retract his
comments or resign.

Mr. Smith, a Roman Catholic, stood by his remarks, saying they were an
expression of his personal beliefs, stemming from his faith, and had no

relevancy to his position on the Transit board.

A few hours later he received notice from Gov. Ehrlich that he was fired. In
his statement the governor said he was intolerant to any view that opposes the
full social acceptance of homosexual behaviour and its promotion in government,
according to a press release by the American Family Association.

Invitation...

Invitation

by

Rob Hood

Dear readers,

I would like to take this time to introduce you to my work and mission. As many of you know by my articles written over the course of the last year, I am standing strong and standing up for what is right in America. Many of you that read my articles know that I am a Christian who does stand in opposition of abortion, same sex marriage, and a few other things affecting our social infrastructure in our land today. However, there is another side to me as well. Many of you know what I am against, but now let me tell you what I am for.

Last May, I wrote a book called Issues That Matter: America’s Moral Battleground that not only deals with many issues like abortion, same-sex marriage, and public prayer, but also defends my faith and gives the reader a reason to take a stand as well. I am all for evangelism in telling others about salvation through Jesus Christ. I do support missions in foreign countries where literally thousands per year come to the saving knowledge of Christ and I also support my local church first and foremost before other programs. I do support volunteer Bible distribution ministries such as the Gideons International (www.gideons.org) and groups like the Presidential Prayer team.

Last Year I also started a ministry by myself that is dedicated to preserving traditional conservative Christianity as well as being an effective witnessing tool. It is called Stand For Truth at www.standfortruthonline.com The whole site came as a result and as a continuation of my book. It features breaking news important to Christians and conservatives as well as messages from very popular groups like Answers In Genesis, Mission America, and others.
The purpose of this site is to continue to spread the infallible word of God without the well known left wing political correctness as well as discuss the most controversial issues affecting Christianity in America today from a conservative point of view.

The theme of the site is STAND FOR TRUTH: Christians taking a stand for Jesus, Life, Liberty, Truth, and Freedom. The theme has a significant meaning. Members of the site believe in the theme as:

Jesus - is Savior and the only way to inherit the Kingdom of Heaven.

Life - Life is precious to God and thus we believe that abortion is wrong.

Liberty - We believe in the conservative ideals that made America what it is today according to our forefathers’ intentions when they drafted our U.S. Constitution and prayed to God for guidance during this time.

Truth - We believe that there is an absolute moral truth that is derived from the Word of God.

Freedom - We believe that all mankind deserves freedom from tyranny and absolute rule. God’s creation was meant to be free and only from Salvation through Jesus Christ can man be truly free.

Not only these things, but we also believe that the Holy Bible is the incorruptible, infallible, inspired, Word of the living God. Evolution is also replaced by the truth on this site and that truth being that God literally spoke the universe into existence as recorded in the book of Genesis.

If you are a conservative, but not really that interested in religion, I also offer a political/social blog site that features daily commentary and news from several key conservatives from Thomas Brewton, Nathan Tabor, and other columnists from the New Media Alliance as well as special commentary from others like Brent Bozell, Senator Rick Santorum, and news updates from all over the web.

I am inviting you as conservative readers to take a look at my sites and book. Both sites are totally free and offer a totally free weekly newsletter if you join. There is no membership fee of any kind on either site. The weekly newsletters contain religious news/commentary as well as political news stories and social commentary. Some of the resources I use are the most popular on the web such as Townhall, Cybercast News Service, Worldnet Daily, Newsmax, Fox News, Alliance Defense Fund, Life News, Lifesite News, The American Daily, Jerusalem Prayer Team, Times Watch Tracker, Newsbusters, and many more.

Once again I invite you to my site and to look at the mission of my book Issues That Matter, and see what you may be missing out on. Be sure to tell your friends about it. You can access all three at:

The Deceptive Code of Da Vinci and of Al Gore...

STAND FOR TRUTH
Christians taking a stand for what is right in the sight of God!
www.standfortruthonline.com
_________________________________________________

Al Gore and the Da Vinci Code
By Thomas E. Brewton

Al Gore’s messianic certainty that our planet will perish without his guidance
is a modern example of gnosticism.

-------------------
“The Da Vinci Code” movie is a purely fictional attack on Christianity
employing, as part of the background material, one of the gnostic gospels to
provide a patina of ancient, secret wisdom powerful enough to unravel existing
civilization.

Mr. Gore’s movie, “An Inconvenient Truth,” goes further, making the gnosticism
of his book “Earth in the Balance” the whole content.

Mr. Gore is the loudest spokesman for an elitist group who are dead certain
that only they know the truth, a group prepared to impose their doctrine upon
mankind regardless of the costs in human life and well-being.  In that respect,
the Gospel of Al follows the pattern of gnostic irruptions from the earliest
days of Christianity, through the 18th century advent of socialism.

Mr. Gore unites in a single personality the messianic pretensions of the
gnostic mystic and the scientistic (pseudo-scientific) materialism of today’s
liberal-socialist theoreticians.

Karl Marx’s gnostic vision inaccurately predicted the inevitable, revolutionary
triumph of socialism.  In the Marxian manner, Mr. Gore, a liberal-socialist,
preaches a sweeping, gnostic revelation of earth’s End Times, a catastrophic
destruction of life that will befall civilization, if we don’t repent and
follow the Gospel of Al.

Mark your calendars.  The Gospel of Al predicts that the End Times of atheistic
materialism will commence in about ten years.

In his book, Mr. Gore writes, “But [writing this book] has also led me to
undertake a deeper kind of inquiry, one that is ultimately an investigation of
the very nature of our civilization and its relationship to the global
environment.” He fears that, “...we will not be able to see how dangerously we
are threatening to push the earth out of balance.”

This is the gnostic core: the deep knowledge revealed to Mr. Gore, without
which we are doomed.  He stands ready to save civilization, if we will only
heed his gospel and accept him as our savior (i.e., elect him President).

This is remarkably similar to Auguste Comte’s founding The Religion of Humanity
in the 1830s.  Comte was confident that he uniquely had fathomed the Immutable
Law of History that was propelling civilization into the age of scientific
socialism.  He predicted that all of humanity would abandon ancient traditions
and forms of government to follow his positivistic philosophy.

To construct his Immutable Law, which has proved somewhat more flexible that he
imagined, Comte took fragments of history and reworked them to fit his
hypothesis.  Mr. Gore and his greenhouse-gas gang have used the same approach.

Evidence that contradicts the greenhouse-gas hypothesis is removed from
consideration.  For example, Mr. Gore’s charts and graphs ignore the Medieval
Warm Period, from approximately 1000 AD into the 1300s, and the Little Ice Age,
from the late 1300s into the 1800s, both worldwide phenomena.  During the Warm
Period, today’s uninhabitable, ice-covered areas of Greenland were cozy enough
for Vikings to establish farming colonies.  In the Little Ice Age, glaciers
advanced all over the world, in the Swiss Alps crushing whole villages.  Yet
Mr. Gore belittles these massive phenomena with jokes. His followers dismiss
them as fiction.

Mr. Gore is, of course, free to speak his mind.  The mischief arises from his
call for us to repent our sins by abandoning use of fossil fuels and
subscribing to the Kyoto Protocol.

When assessing the reliability of Mr. Gore’s all-or-nothing gospel, let’s not forget that the same crowd who now champion Mr. Gore’s word as revelation of gnostic truth were, thirty years ago, equally firmly convinced that the earth faced an imminent disaster from a new ice age.  In its April 28, 1975, edition, Newsweek featured an article titled “The Cooling World.” (see Peter Gwynne’s op-ed article in the Washington Times).

Let’s also not forget that these same liberal-socialists in the 1980s was
firmly convinced that President Reagan was about to provoke the Soviet Union
into World War III by re-arming the United States and branding the USSR an evil
empire.

Becoming followers of the Gospel of Al will entail more than just piously
mouthed sentiments.  There will be a real price to pay.

Many studies have documented the enormous economic costs from compliance with the Kyoto standards of CO2 emissions control.  All have demonstrated that the actual costs in lost jobs and reduced standards of living will far outweigh any theoretical benefits.  (See The Kyoto Protocol: an Economic Free Rider Problem).

In an article posted on the Slate website, “New Republic” editor Gregg Easterbrook wrote:

“This raises the troubling fault of “An Inconvenient Truth”: its carelessness
about moral argument. Gore says accumulation of greenhouse gases “is a moral
issue, it is deeply unethical.” Wouldn’t deprivation also be unethical? Some
fossil fuel use is maddening waste; most has raised living standards. The era
of fossil energy must now give way to an era of clean energy. But the last
century’s headlong consumption of oil, coal, and gas has raised living
standards throughout the world; driven malnourishment to an all-time low,
according to the latest U.N. estimates; doubled global life expectancy; pushed
most rates of disease into decline; and made possible Gore’s airline seat and
MacBook, which he doesn’t seem to find unethical.”

A less respectful review of the movie can be found in Wesley Pruden’s column in the Washington Times.

The UN's Big Step...

http://www.therealitycheck.org/StaffWriter/jdarr062006.htm

------------------------------------------

We Told You So.  The UN Takes One More Step Toward Global Government

by Justin Darr

For years, Conservatives have been trying to alert Americans and all
freedom loving people in the world about the dangers the United Nations
poses to individual liberty and democracy. Whether it was “Agenda 21,”
the United Nations’ plan for global sustainable development that would
void your private property rights, force you to give up your car in lieu
of a bicycle, and reserve almost half of the United States as no human
zones to facilitate habitat for migratory animals, or the United
Nations’ plan to wrest control of the Internet away from the United
States and place it under the “unbiased” control of China, Sudan, and
Cuba, or NRA President Wayne LaPierre’s warning that the UN’s “Small Arms
Review Conference” was nothing more than a thinly veiled attempt to
destroy the 2nd Amendment, Conservatives have always seen the UN as the
anti-American organization it is. And, categorically, we have been
ridiculed and called insane by the left as a result.

The left is so consumed in their anti-Americanism that they tend to
gravitate toward and support anyone who is opposed to the United States,
even to the point of becoming apologists for terrorists, and in this
case, a dysfunctional and corrupt international organization. When a
liberal is defending the UN, the arguments are generally based on some
perceived notion that just because the majority of petty juntas, Communist
dictatorships, and radical theocracies of the world have an opinion
aboutsomething, then that opinion is, by default, granted the coveted
Liberal mantle of “international moral authority.”

However, reality paints a very different picture of the United Nations.
Generally, the world body’s member states oppose and attack the United
States not out of the interests of their populations, but their own
personal ego and lust for power. There is no international sense of the
common good, and unless under extreme pressure, desire to make the world
a better place among the nations motivating the actions of the UN. What
there is, instead, is a pathological obsession to force the United
States to conform to the bidding of the absolute worse of the member
states. The operative word there is “force.” The world is jealous of
America’s wealth, power, and strength, and has opted to use the United
Nations as the vehicle to undermine America by whatever means possible.

Until now, as the left loves to point out, the United Nations had no
mechanism to enforce its policies or other neo-Communist resolutions.
Compliance with United Nations resolutions was voluntary, and had to be,
in the case of the United States, approved by our elected
representatives. If any nation does not like what the UN has to say, then they can
just ignore it, and in most cases, there is nothing anyone can do about
it. That is until now.

Last week, the United Nations unveiled a proposal to develop its own
standing army to enforce what it deems to be international law. Oh, wait!
Did I say “standing army?” I should have used the UN’s own words.

Last week, the United Nations unveiled a proposal to develop its own
“Emergency Peace Service” to “take action to prevent war and dire threats
to human security and human rights.”

Do you know what those rights might be? Do not feel bad; nobody else
does either, including the people who wrote the proposal. Other than
genocide, there are no clear definitions of what the UN would consider a
“crime against humanity,” just as it has no clear definition of what
terrorism is more than five years after 9/11. So really, the proposed UN
army could be used for whatever the UN wants.

The proposal is also unclear about who can deploy the United Nations
army. Actually, the problem with the proposal is that lots of people can
deploy the force wherever they want, and only one of them is the
Security Council. Under the plan, if the Security Council fails to approve an
international intervention, the Secretary General of the UN can
override the Council and deploy the troops anyhow. Even if the resolution
fails because of a veto from one of the five permanent Council members.

This is where the fun part starts. If the Council decides that the
Secretary General was wrong, then they can vote under normal rules to bring
the troops back. That sounds great, but the problem is that under
“normal rules,” the permanent members’ veto comes into play. The Security
Council would be powerless to end the United Nations militant presence
until a bunch of bureaucrats can get around to find the nuanced wording
required to avoid a veto. In effect, the Secretary General would become
more powerful than the Security Council, and the United States would be
unable to stop UN military actions against its interests without the
support of France, China, and Russia.

You will have to forgive me if I do not hold my breath for that to
happen, or if this proposal is ever passed, plan any trips to Israel. The
United Nations proud anti-Semitic past makes Israel the prime target of
any UN military action unchecked by the United States UN veto power.
And, that would be only the first of many abuses of this unaccountable
military power.

Granted, a United Nations army would probably look like an unholy
hybrid of a yoga class, group therapy session, and a gun shop, but it is
still a first step. It is not as important how effective an UN proposal
could be as it is the fact that yet another piece of our sovereignty has
been chipped away from us and yielded to an unaccountable foreign body.
Do allow yourself to be deceived, American sovereignty is the only
thing that keeps Americans free and preserves our way of life. And, each
small step the UN makes takes us one small step closer to losing our
liberty. If we allow that day to come, do not claim you were not warned.

Putting Global Warming on Ice

by Thomas Lindaman

The debate over global warming just got hotter, if you’ll pardon the
pun. If you won’t pardon the pun, it’s too late for me to retract it.
With the opening of “An Inconvenient Truth,” College Republicans swung
into action and came up with some interesting ways to advance their
position on global warming.

College Republicans at Oklahoma University gave away free snow cones to
any student who wanted one. Along with the snow cones, they offered
literature about their group, sign up sheets, t-shirts, and information on
their position on global warming. The drive, which was called “Global
Cooling Day,” seems to have been relatively successful, given that they
gave away nearly 1000 snow cones a day.

The College Republican National Committee featured OU’s “Global Cooling
Day” as a means to get out the message. They also chimed in with
another way to poke fun at global warming: beach parties. Their website
features the following comment: “Consider staging a similar event on your
campus - but make it a beach party instead. Kiddie pools, sand, bikinis -
you get the idea.” Who says College Republicans don’t know how to have
fun? Almost makes me want to go back to college …

This idea caught the attention of the Democratic National Committee. In
a statement by College Democrats of America President Grant Woodard,
College Democrats started sounding more like grumpy old people rather
than the young men and women who should know to throw killer parties.
Woodard said the following:

The College Republicans’ beach parties mocking global warming are just
another example of the misplaced priorities and short-sightedness of
the Republican Party. The College Republicans’ ignorance towards the
seriousness of global warming and climate change shows a Party more focused
on partying than talking seriously about the issues facing young people
across America. While College Republicans party on this summer, College
Democrats will be knocking on doors, working to get Democrats elected
nationwide. With young leadership like this, Republicans should prepare
to get burned in the upcoming elections.

Let’s see…spend a hot, humid summer knocking on doors trying to get
people to vote Democrat with a platform weaker than Clay Aiken’s rendition
of “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me” from the season finale of
“American Idol,” or hang out with bikini-clad college coeds drinking fruity
tropical drinks with little umbrellas. I’ll take Door #2 and a pina
colada, Monty.

I have two suggestions for Mr. Woodard and his College Democrat
friends. First, give up trying to talk tough. Your line about the Republicans
preparing “to get burned” was so pathetic, it wouldn’t frighten Shaggy
and Scooby if they were high on cocaine.

Second, tone down the sanctimonious self-righteous tone. Not everyone
is going to agree with you on global warming. In fact, there are a
number of learned individuals who aren’t so sure that we’re causing it. Like
me, for instance. (Okay, you can stop laughing now.)

The fact Woodard is lambasting College Republicans’ “ignorance towards
the seriousness of global warming and climate change,” “misplaced
priorities,” and “short-sightedness” for merely having fun while putting out
their side of the global warming story suggests that the Democrats,
College or otherwise, don’t want a debate over the issue. You guys just
want people to agree with your side. Gee, isn’t this exactly what you
accuse President George W. Bush of doing?

Either way, Woodard, the College Democrats, and the DNC are all
engaging in a rhetorical form designed to hide a weak argument. Instead of
taking on challenge of actually arguing the merits of their position, they
tear down the opposition. Most of the time, this works because the
opposition (namely Republicans) don’t know how to respond. In this case,
though, it backfires completely because the College Republicans have
already taken the high ground by having fun. By attacking the College
Republicans, the College Democrats look like jerks. In this case, the
Democrats are Dean Wormer, and the College Republicans are the Delta
Chis. For those of you too young to know the reference, think of it this
way. You know those kids who would always tattle to the teacher whenever
you would tease him or her? The College Democrats make that kid look
like Snoop Dogg.

Here’s something else to chew on, kids. Scientists may agree that the
planet is getting warmer (but there’s research that suggests things have
been cooling down since 1998, so there’s another point of debate), but
the jury is still out on our role in it. If we’re not sure if we’re
causing the problem, how do we know we can fix it? And what’s to say that
the “solutions” Al Gore and others suggest will do anything to change
the existing conditions? After all, the very charts Gore uses in “An
Inconvenient Truth” show global warming got worse while he was Vice
President. And if the man who took the initiative in the creation of the
Internet can’t figure out how to save the planet, who can?

I don’t know. I’m enjoying a College Republican snow cone with a
bikini-clad conservative coed.

John Kerry still flip flopping...

http://www.theconservativevoice.com/article/15584.html

Take a Ride on the John Kerry WayBack Machine

After making a wrong turn in the lobby of a Washington hotel a few weeks ago, I found myself having to edge my way out of a conference room filled with glassy-eyed liberals, standing in rapt adulation while Senator John Kerry (D-MA) stood on stage, publicly purging himself of his 2002 vote for the Iraqi war resolution. My good friend, Professor Maroon was with me. “I was afraid this might happen,” he said. “We’re in the middle of the ‘Take Back America’ conference. Last time I saw a group of liberals look this catatonic was when Al Gore was in town. I almost feel bad for them, poor devils.”

“Forget them, Prof. Did you hear what Kerry just said? I thought he voted for intervention in Iraq? Now he says he was wrong. Now I’m confused.”

“Well son, I’m still working out some of the kinks, but let’s head up to my room and step into my John Kerry WayBack Machine and look at some of Long John’s earlier statements about Iraq.”

“Here we go. Put the ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign on the door knob. C’mon. Step in and don’t be afraid…but hold on. This could get bumpy!”

“Wow. Pretty cool! Stop here Professor Maroon…2002. The time gauge says October. Look! There’s Kerry now.”

”"I will be voting to give the President of the United States the authority to use force - if necessary - to disarm Saddam Hussein because I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hands is a real and grave threat to our security.”

“Hey…this is fun Professor. But let’s ease up on the Kerry WayBack Machine lever a little. Here we go, December of 2003. Stop here.”

“Their sudden embrace of accelerated Iraqification and American troop withdrawal dates, without adequate stability, is an invitation to failure. The hard work of rebuilding Iraq must not be dictated by the schedule of the next American election.”

“Did Kerry really say that Professor or is there something wrong with your invention?”

“Well, my boy. I might have to bring it in to the lab for some fining tuning. Then again, maybe we’ve entered a political wormhole, a disruption of the Space/Time Continuum, where things aren’t always what they seem to be. Lot of that going around in D.C.”

“A-w-w. This was starting to be fun Professor. Can we try it just one more time? Maybe set the machine to just a few days ago? Look Prof. There’s Kerry sulking on the Senate floor because only 6 of his fellow senators voted “aye” for his end-of-year troop withdrawal proposal. But I’m confused. I thought he said at our last stop that he was against cutting and running? But wait, now he’s talking with that fellow from Wisconsin, Senator Russ Feingold. Don’t they make a pair?”

“Turn the Kerry WayBack Machine off a moment, Professor Maroon. I think the junior senator from Massachusetts is now saying that he and Feingold have a new withdrawal plan. July 2007? What??”

“I’m afraid I’m going to have to pull the machine back into the lab, my boy. Something must be wrong with it.”

“I don’t know, Professor. I’ve been taking some notes. Correct me if I’m wrong, okay?”

“Let’s see. Kerry voted for the use of force against Iraq.”

“Check.”

“Kerry said a timetable for troop withdrawals is ‘an invitation to failure.’’
“Check.”

“Kerry said he was wrong to vote for the use of force against Iraq.”
“Check.”

“Kerry wants troops out of Iraq by the end of 2006.”
“Check.”

“Kerry wants troops out of Iraq by July, 2007.”

“Check.”

“Well son. Id rather be safe than sorry. It must be the Kerry WayBack Machine. This is still the beta version. We’re heading back to the lab so I can take a look under the hood of this thing. No politician could flip-flop so many times on an important issue like Iraq.”

“Check.”

Free-market Competition is Barbarism?
By Thomas E. Brewton

Senator Charles Schumer opposes lower prices for consumers, if they are set by
the free-market.

-------------------
Senator John Kerry is not the only Francophile socialist in the upper ranks of
Democratic Party policy-makers.  New York’s Senator Charles Schumer, the author
of filibusters to prevent Senate consideration of judicial nominees, is zealous
to protect consumers against Merk’s plan to price one of its drug below the
generic drug price.  He has written the Federal Trade Commission to declare:
“I find this practice highly disturbing and anticompetitive.”

It’s anticompetitive to compete with generic drug manufacturers when the result
is lower prices for consumers?

According to Yahoo News, “A New York senator accused the drug giant Merck & Co. on Tuesday of conspiring to undercut a cheaper generic alternative to its cholesterol-lowering drug Zocor just days before it becomes available to patients.

“Sen. Charles Schumer (news, bio, voting record), a Democrat, charged that
Merck is quietly collaborating with health insurance companies to create lower
copays for customers buying Zocor than for those buying the generic
equivalent.”

Now this all makes sense if you view it from the socialist perspective.

The Senator apparently believes that you and I are not able to make decisions
on our own.  We need the nurturing support of hundreds of pages of Federal
regulations to tell us what not to do and what to do.

Remember that President Clinton opposed tax cuts in his first term, because, he
said, people would spend the money on the wrong things.

The French connection was explained by Alexis de Tocqueville.  In “Democracy in
America,” he wrote that French socialism is a system under which no village is
too small to have at least one official from Paris whose duty is to prevent any
sort of local initiative.

Since the Revolution of 1789, French intellectuals, the government, and a good
part of the citizenry have perceived market competition as barbaric,
uncivilized conduct.

Their religion, socialism, decrees that competition arises from private
ownership of property, which is the genesis of society’s crime and war.  A
civilized society like that of France will leave prices and availabilities to
the elite graduates of the Hautes Ecoles, who are the only ones qualified to
plan how people are to live.

CBS News Bids Dan Rather a Fond Farewell

by Jim Kouri, CPP

Ending a career that spanned almost 45 years, today Dan Rather
announced that his days at CBS News’ are officially over. Good-bye, Dan. Don’t
let the door hit your butt on the way out.

Rather gave up anchoring the CBS Evening News after being caught
fabricating news by “pajama journalists” on the Internet. While doing a story
on President Bush’s National Guard service, Rather and CBS News used
forged memos to spice up their story in the hopes of hurting the
President’s reelection aspirations.

While the mainstream news media tried to downplay the fact that Rather
had a political agenda, they fell back on the liberals’ old standby
when caught—he was overzealous and he was duped. In other words, he was
dumb and got snookered by the Democrat Party “dirty tricks squad.” But
most clear thinking Americans know Dandy Dan wasn’t duped: He tried to
pull a fast one and got busted by bloggers.

Two things occurred as a result of the exposure of Dan Rather as a
Democrat Party hack masquerading as a newsman:

First, the mainstream news media—a/k/a the Liberal media, a/k/a the
elite news media— realized their days of controlling the flow of
news had ended.

And second, while they continue to attempt to characterize Rather’s
phony news story as an aberration, more and more Americans are discovering
the mainstream news media are the echo chamber for liberals in the
Democrat party and for left-wing activists. The Rather bust was merely the
tip of the iceberg.

Meanwhile, Rather’s elitist colleagues—who all believe they are the
smartest people on the planet—are heaping praise and accolades upon
him.

“Of all the famous names associated with CBS News, the biggest and
brightest on the marquee are Murrow, Cronkite and Rather. With the utmost
respect, we mark the extraordinary and singular role Dan has played in
writing the script of not only CBS News, but of broadcast journalism.

“There will always be a part of Dan Rather at CBS News. He is truly a
‘reporter’s reporter,’ and he has helped to train several generations of
broadcast journalists. His legacy cannot be replaced,” said the head of
CBS News.

His legacy? You mean the legacy of a man who was so close to the
leaders of the Democrat Party in Texas that it was hard to distinguish where
his head ended and their butts began.

Rather, while an anchorman at CBS News, was the keynote speaker at a
Democrat Party fundraiser. His daughter, Robin, is a Democrat Party
activist. Dandy Dan once told Bill and Hillary Clinton in front of a
national audience that he wished all Americans had the moral compass that the
Clintons’ exhibited. Clintons moral?

Rather, according to people who actually worked for him, was a
megalomanic in the newsroom. While most of his colleagues may think they are
the smartest people in the newsroom, Dan demanded that his subordinates
recognize that he was the smartest guy in any room.

The news that Dan is gone from CBS is hardly shocking; throughout the
news industry there was much speculation as to when Rather would be
shown the door.

“They wanted this resolution, and I’m willing to accept that and move
on,” USA Today quoted Rather as saying. In an interview with the paper
last Thursday, Rather claimed he planned on staying at the network for
the rest of his career, but was more than prepared to make his final
exit.

“Life takes its twists and turns, and I’m a pro,” he told the paper.
“I’ve been a reporter since I was in my teens. I’m blessed with good
health and high energy, and I want to be fully occupied, doing meaningful
work. I had hoped that would be possible at 60 Minutes.”

CBS News has already hired CNN’s liberal talking head Anderson Cooper
to replace Rather on 60 Minutes, although he only did a few stories on
the still top-rated TV newsmagazine.

However, Rather will be honored by CBS with a prime-time special this
fall, a retrospective devoted to the newsman’s prolific and legendary
career. Now, that will be a show to watch and analyze. It will be an
education for anyone who believes the mainstream news media are fair and
balanced.

When asked by USA Today whether the fraudulent report led to his
eventual resignation, Rather said, “That’s history. I’m not interested in
going there. I’m focused on the future.”

Soon another liberal-left newswoman will sit in the anchor chair for
CBS Evening News—Katie Couric. That will be a show to watch just for
the laughs. Perhaps the man laughing the hardest will be Dan Rather.

And what are Dandy Dan’s plans for the future?  Rather told the New
York Times he was already entertaining an offer extended by Dallas
Mavericks owner Mark Cuban to host a weekly news program for the HDNet cable
channel.

Freedom Lost...

Loosing Freedom Part III:
When Graduates Face Opposition

by

Rob Hood

In today’s modern world, the public education arena is already, as we all know, in a big fat mess. The National Education Association has highjacked public education and replaced learning of real subjects with topics that have nothing to do with education at all. The NEA and other left wing organizations openly “tolerate” and even encourage homosexuality and vow to stamp out anyone who opposes the idea by calling them bigots or some other silly name.

Not only do today’s educators want to teach our children to embrace sin as normal, but they cringe at the idea of any Christian related theme at all even if it is a personal choice. Remember that some public schools canceled Christmas parties and replaced them with “Holiday Parties” and other such unnecessary acts of anti-Christian behavior.

When I first heard about the Valedictorian, Brittany McComb of Nevada, who was persecuted by her anti-Christian school personnel, I really wasn’t that shocked. I wasn’t even shocked when I heard that the ACLU backed the idea of pulling the plug (microphone) on Miss McComb. Of course the ACLU liked it. They like anything to do with getting rid of God in the public arena.

This young lady was not at all trying to convince others to become a Christian when she made her speech against the will of her school personnel. She was simply acknowledging that God had blessed her and He was the reason that she was so successful. Now what could be so wrong with giving credit to God for a blessing? If that had been a Muslim student thanking Allah for a blessing, not a word would have been said, which is what makes the ACLU and it left wing worshippers so hypocritical. They can embrace Allah, Buddha, evolution, and most anything, but refuse to accept Jesus or God as Christians refer to. They can preach tolerance all day long and not ever practice it themselves.

Does this student not have a right to free speech? We have left wing radicals protesting the President calling him curse words and cursing the military. They curse the church and curse conservatives and yet not a word is said by the ACLU. Yet, when it comes time for someone to speak, a person cannot use that same freedom of speech. What is wrong with these people? I think liberals are born with a genetic defect that tells them to act this way. It’s the only way I can explain it, if it can be explained at all. Liberals say that homosexuality is genetic. If that’s the case, then so is liberalism.  It has to be. Perhaps Michael Savage was right when he coined to the terms “Liberalism is mental disorder.”

This lady did nothing wrong, broke no law, and said nothing offensive to anyone. She simply stated that her personal faith in God was what made her life what it is. When that microphone was cut off, I could not imagine what her parents thought. Perhaps those responsible will be fired or suspended for such arrogance? I really don’t know what should be done in this situation and probably nothing will be done because we live in a world hostile towards God and His followers. However, one day that will change. One day, the people that did this will have to answer for it and I am afraid the ACLU won’t be around to help.

This young lady has kept her faith and did not back down no mater what anyone said and I applaud her for that. She was strictly told not to use those references to God by her superiors, so what did she do? She did it anyway and that should set the example for the rest of us to follow. When we face challenges by activist judges and arrogant liberals that go against our faith, we must pay them no attention at all. When they tell us to put away our God, we lift Him on high, and when they tell us to stop saying Christmas, we say it louder, and when they tell us not to pray, we pray harder.

When I think of this lady who was persecuted for her beliefs, I am reminded that she may be entitled to a reward for taking a stand for her savior. In Matthew 5:11-12, Jesus said, “Blessed are you when people insult you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”

Perhaps this might have been the will of God for her to get persecuted to reach out to someone else who might be lost. Perhaps it was a test of faith just like God tested Job in the Old Testament. Then again, maybe it was just another story of a modern day American Christian being slammed for the same beliefs held for over 2000 years now. I don’t know the answer as to why this happened but there is a reason for it and the whole situation will be blessed by God in ways that we can’t imagine because God can take impossible situations and turn them into miraculous things. Our responsibility in this story is to support Miss McComb with our prayers and let God sort out the details.

As far as the rest of the story goes, we still live in a free country and as long as we have free speech, no one can challenge what this young lady did. Let’s just remember that legally, we have the right to speak about our faith or about anything else we want and high school teachers and liberal organization like the ACLU or anyone else cannot stand in the way of doing so.

June 6, 2006—The country’s youngest transgender child is ready for
kindergarten. But is Florida’s Broward County school district ready for her?

by Julia Reischel | reprinted from Broward-Palm Beach New Times

http://www.tolerance.org/news/article_tol.jsp?id=1377

It’s a spring break morning, and by 11 a.m. at the Anderson home, chaos is
erupting. School is out for the week, and the twin boys are throwing a ball
inside the spacious, two-story house. Upstairs, the preteen daughter pretends
not to hear her mother calling. Lauren Anderson, a tanned and well-dressed stay-
at-home mom who seems incapable of sitting still, cajoles her offspring to
behave as she waits for a babysitter to arrive.

Her youngest, Nicole, 5, is frowning. Nicole’s face is framed with delicate
brown braids, and her fingernails are painted a rainbow of colors. She plans to
go swimming with a friend at the community pool, but at the moment, she doesn’t
like the way her dress feels. She yanks the hot-pink halter-top over her head,
telling her mother, “This is poking me. I want to change my dress.”

Minutes later, she scampers back, now as naked as a jaybird except for her
underwear. Without the dress, you can clearly see her p****, tucked carefully
into her pink patterned panties.

Born a biological male whom the family named Nicholas, Nicole today dresses,
acts and lives as a girl. She’s been insisting she’s female since she could
talk, say the Andersons, who asked that their real names not be used for this
article. “He has always been attracted to the flowers, the bright colors, his
Barbie dolls, and his beloved mermaids,” Lauren says, using the male pronoun
for her child. In fact, talking with Lauren, who fully supports Nicole’s desire
to live as a girl, it’s clear that the family is still working out the grammar
of how to refer to its youngest.

“As a young toddler, he wouldn’t let me snap her onesies together because she
wanted to wear a ‘dwess’ like his sister,” Lauren says, mixing pronouns like he
and her interchangeably.

Lauren admits that the family is feeling its way down a path very few families
find themselves navigating. Although it’s common for young boys to play with
dolls or paint their nails—what parents classically refer to as “a phase”—
it’s much rarer for a child to so completely identify as the opposite sex. And
what to do about it has been the subject of fierce debate for decades.

When it’s not just ‘a phase’
Some therapists insist that such children should be discouraged from living as
the opposite sex because, they have found, the large majority of such children
grow out of it. Studies show that many end up as gay adults. But a growing
coalition of therapists, scientists and activists disagree and refer to such
children—even those as young as 3 years old—as transgendered, insisting
that the child’s new identification shouldn’t be discouraged.

The Andersons are in the latter camp, encouraging Nicholas to be Nicole.
Experts consulted by this reporter say the Andersons are the only family in the
United States supporting a 5-year-old’s choice to live as the opposite sex.
This fall, the Andersons plan to enroll Nicole in a Broward County, Fla.,
kindergarten class as a female. They are convinced that’s the only way she’ll
be happy.

Lauren says she constantly feels as if she’s flying by the seat of her pants.
“There is no protocol,” she says. “Nobody knows of anybody. No 5-year-olds who
go to school fully transitioned. There’s no book called How to Raise Your
Gender Variant Preschooler.”

Nicole “carried like a girl” when Lauren was pregnant, but when Nicholas was
born, he was definitely a baby boy.

“So we dressed him all boyish,” Lauren says, as she fondly turns the pages of a
fat baby album. There are pages and pages of little Nicholas—with his family
smiling at his bris, dressed in a tiny football uniform, being hugged by his
older siblings. Nicholas looks happy. But Lauren says his desire to be treated
like a girl was constant.

“At first, I thought it was cute,” she explains. “I don’t have a problem
putting nail polish on a little boy. I don’t have a problem if my son plays
with dolls. His older brothers went through a similar period of doll playing
and asking for nail polish on their toes. There’s no reason to say no to a
phase. I never once said ‘no.’ A phase is a phase.”

So baby Nicholas was allowed to wear high heels. To play with Little Mermaid
and Barbie dolls. To grow his hair a little longer. But instead of being
satisfied with these concessions, Nicholas always asked for more. One day, he
asked for something his parents weren’t expecting.

Lauren was sitting at her computer working when 2-year-old Nicholas, who, like
all the Anderson children, had a frank understanding of anatomy, came to her
with a request: “I want the fairy princess to come and make my p**** into a
vagina,” he said.

Lauren mentioned Nicholas’ strange demand to his pediatrician at the child’s
three-year birthday checkup, expecting to be told that the behavior was part of
the phase. “She got a concerned look on her face,” she says. “This was not the
reaction I was looking for.” The Andersons were advised to look into Nicholas’
desires with the help of a therapist.

Frightened, Lauren says she turned to her college copy of the Diagnostic and
Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) and looked up something called
“Gender Identity Disorder,” the clinical term for transsexualism. It seemed to
describe Nicole’s behaviors exactly.

“The neutral thing doesn’t work”
The Andersons began allowing Nicholas to act and dress like a girl in the
safety of their home or in the anonymity of the grocery store or at Disney
World. That summer, Nicholas’ camp even allowed him to wear a girl’s bathing
suit. But at preschool, Nicholas remained a boy and seemed satisfied with
relegating his girl time to afterschool hours. Until he turned 5.

“Right at the age of 5, it was like ‘boom,’ “ Lauren says. “Since he hit 5, he
totally rebelled and refused to wear boy clothes. Every single day was a fight.
By the end of the school year, she looked like a totally different child.”

Today, Nicole gets to be all girl at home and is supposed to be “neutral” in
public at her preschool, where many of her friends, all girls, call her “she.”
But every day, Nicole chips away at the vestiges of her boyhood.

“I try to do the neutral thing, and it doesn’t work,” Lauren says, “Slowly,
every day, a new article of clothing will come out of the closet. And we end up
looking like a girl.”

Lauren says the potential for bullying won’t change her mind. “I don’t want to
take that child’s soul and squash it,” she says.

Logistically, the Andersons believe, having Nicole attend school as a girl
shouldn’t be difficult. Most of the classrooms at the school have attached
single-stall bathrooms. With the cooperation of teachers, other children would
never have to know.

Marilyn Volker, a Miami sexologist, says other transsexual children have
successfully navigated Florida schools, often with the discreet help of
teachers. “Sometimes only individual teachers know about it,” she says. “Often,
the teacher deals with it.”

“This is a child with wonderfully supportive, loving parents who’s got medical
and mental health professionals on her side,” lesbian rights attorney Karen
Doering says. “I think as far as being able to handle bullying, I think this
child will do just fine.”

School district insists protocols in place
Although the Broward County School District would not acknowledge that it had
received communications about Nicole’s needs from the Andersons, it insists
that it has protocols for dealing with a GID child.

“We take each child as an individual,” district spokesman Andrew Feirstein
says. “Any time a student enrolls in a district school and has specific needs,
all appropriate information is gathered for an evaluation. District
professionals meet together and work with parents to determine the student’s
best educational plan.”

The Andersons say they contacted Nicole’s principal in January, sending along
two letters from mental health professionals who explained Nicole’s special
needs.

Then they waited. With registration for fall’s kindergarten classes already
beginning, the Andersons are still in the dark about the school’s plans, making
the task of listing Nicole’s gender on the registration forms difficult. “I’m
not going to put male or female. I’m going to put down ‘I,’ “ Lauren says,
which she means to stand for intersexed.

Oblivious to the fight swirling around her as only a 5-year-old can be, Nicole
is headstrong and boisterous. She seems to be a happy, healthy—and perhaps a
tiny bit spoiled—little girl.

A month ago, Nicole debuted in her first theatrical role in a local community
musical. On the show’s closing night, the stage is dark, and a chorus of small,
childish voices lisp a showtune. Parading around the stage singing along and
concentrating hard on her stage directions, Nicole is possible to pick out only
because she is the youngest child in the show, a good head shorter than the
other girls.

If anyone in the crowd or the cast knows that Nicole was once Nicholas, they
don’t seem to care—proof, the Andersons say, that Nicole will be able to
function happily in public as a girl.

Tolerance?

When Tolerance Creates Violence:
Assault on Innocence in Massachusetts

By Linda Harvey

Imagine you are seven years old, and you go to a public school in a liberal
region of the country. Imagine that, like many families in that area, yours is
one that believes homosexuality is a harmless, neutral civil right, and that
children should be taught to accept it and thereby live enlightened and
peaceful lives in a newly-constructed utopian world.

And as part of this enlightenment, you discover there are families in your
school who don’t believe what you believe. These families believe that
homosexuality is harmful; that it goes against the Creator’s plan for human
sexuality; that children should have a mother and father; that marriage
likewise consists of one each, male and female.

When you, the seven-year-old, ask your parents about these families, they tell
you these people are very wrong, which a seven- year- old understands as “bad.”
These are people who would keep Jenny’s two moms from living together, breaking
up their family. At no time are you told details about what homosexuality
entails; you are only told it’s about “love.”

So naturally, over the course of a school year, hearing only one viewpoint at
school and at home, you develop a sense of childish outrage. Outside groups
like GLSEN—the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network—provide your school
with lots of material talking about these “mean” people who probably want to
bully you. At some point, this misinformation and brainwashing can erupt into
violence against a classmate who belongs to one of the “bad” families. You
could become a bully, because children are impressionable.

Children who had apparently learned such hateful attitudes attacked the seven-
year –old son of David Parker on May 17 in the schoolyard at Estabrook
Elementary School in Lexington, Massachusetts. In an isolated area of the
playground away from adult eyes, the boy was surrounded, kicked and punched in
the chest, stomach and genital area by a group of 8 to 10 children. Finally,
one little girl told an adult, who intervened but neglected to take the boy to
the school nurse.

David Parker only went public about this incident a week ago, because he was
waiting to see what the school would do. School officials have now “looked into
it,” as have the Lexington Police, the district t attorney and the state child
service agency. In record time for bureaucrats, all have speedily concluded the
incident is virtually without merit, and that no adults did anything to provoke
the beating.

But patience continues to be David Parker’s approach, as it has been all along.
He worked for months through an appropriate school committee in 2005 for
reassurance that his son would not be subjected to a lesson about homosexual “
families” similar to one that had already occurred without his notification as
a parent. That assurance to him never came, so in frustration, Parker politely
hung out one day near the principal’s office, waiting for a conversation and a
commitment. Instead of behaving in the tolerant manner reflecting anti-bias and
sensitivity training, instead of respecting Parker’s parental rights, the
principal called the police and had Parker arrested for trespassing. A few
months later, the spurious charges were predictably dropped.

Parker’s son is physically fine; the injuries were superficial, at least
outwardly. But in later years as he recalls the event, what will Jacob Parker
have learned about “tolerance,” about prejudice, about “safe schools” programs?
Is it possible he will see such programs as ineffective and hypocritical? That
one is only “safe” if he/she holds certain prescribed beliefs?

The incident occurred on the two year anniversary of the legalization of
homosexual marriages in Massachusetts. Parker believes there was probably some
degree of planning behind this. “It is at the very least an astounding
coincidence that this would happen to our son on that day,” he told me. Since
kids are very suggestible, I asked if there had there been posters,
announcements, any observance of the same sex marriage anniversary that day at
his son’s school?

Parker doesn’t know, because the school refuses to notify him of planned pro-
homosexual lessons or observances. Other parents are equally incensed at the
pro-homosexual lessons and propagandistic books read to children like King and
King (about a prince who dates a male). One family finally removed their
children from the school and moved. Troublemakers who expect true equality in
parental rights are not really wanted there.

“No matter what your faith or beliefs are,” Parker says, “there is a bright red
line the school should not cross, where parents want to be the ones to discuss
issues like human sexuality and marriage. These are the psyches of our young
children, and I consider this to be a responsibility of my household.” Parker
and another family filed a federal lawsuit against the school in April.

Before the school’s animosity toward him surfaced, Parker served on the school’
s “anti-bias” committee. During that time, a representative of GLSEN, the Gay,
Lesbian and Straight Education Network, gave a workshop entitled, “How and Why
to Talk about Diversity with Children.” The speaker dwelt on methods to
normalize homosexuality among children. Obtaining library and classroom books
featuring same sex couples and parents was among his strongest recommendations.
In Parker’s son’s class even after all the controversy are the books Molly’s
Family ( little Molly has two “moms”) and Who’s in a Family? (highlighting
alternative families, including those headed by homosexuals). Similar books
reside in all the classrooms at Estabrook Elementary, Parker told us.

When parents all across the country hear about the need to make schools “safe”
through “anti-bullying” programs and tolerance training, be wary. “Many anti-
bullying programs have their basis in homosexual activism,” said Brian
Camenker, director of Mass Resistance.

Apparently, the anti-bias committee at Estabrook didn’t do its job. Or---did it?

RIGHT! GODLESS...

Ann Coulter is Right
By Thomas E. Brewton

Whatever you may think about her aggressive writing style, the main point in
Ann Coulter’s new book “Godless: The Church of Liberalism” is dead on target.

The only surprising thing is that so many people are surprised to see
liberalism as a religion.  American liberalism is simply our sect of the
international religion of socialism, and liberal-socialists have openly
proclaimed since the early 19th century that atheistic, materialistic socialism
is a religion.

American Social Gospelists in the late 19th and early 20th centuries declared
that Christianity had failed and was being displaced by socialism.

Liberal-socialism has all the elements of other religions: prophets, sacred
writings, and a catechism of social justice that promises salvation and
perfection (here on earth) of humanity.

For full details, see Socialism: Our Unconstitutionally Established National Religion.

Ecclesiastes...

Is There Any Hope?
By Thomas E. Brewton

The Old Testament book of Ecclesiastes gives us a relevant perspective for
today’s world.  There is hope, but it’s not to be found in the collectivized,
materialistic political state.

-------------------
Our minister at the Long Ridge Congregational Church delivered a sermon today,
Fathers’ Day, that was both a cold shower of reality and a realistic promise of
human satisfaction as we toil here under the sun.

The message is that we should look to our Heavenly Father, not to the Great
White Father in Washington, DC, to find true satisfaction.

Ecclesiastes, who many believe to have been King Solomon in his old age
reflecting on the vagaries of human existence, presents initially a bleak
picture of human life.  His opening statement is:

“Meaningless! Meaningless! says the Teacher.  Utterly meaningless!  Everything
is meaningless.  What does man gain from all his labor at which he toils under
the sun?  Generations come and generations go, but the earth remains forever.
The sun rises and the sun sets, and hurries back to where it rises.… What has
been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new
under the sun.” (Ecclesiastes 1:2-9)

He contrasts this with seeking wisdom from all that is done under heaven.

“I, the Teacher, was king over Israel in Jerusalem. I devoted myself to study
and to explore by wisdom all that is done under heaven. What a heavy burden God
has laid on men!” (Ecclesiastes 1:12-13)

With apologies to our minister, I interpret this to mean that the atheistic
materialism of our present-day society (under the sun) is meaningless in the
larger scheme of things and will provide no lasting satisfaction.  The
handiwork of liberal-socialist state-planners, like a sandcastle on the beach,
will be washed away by the next tide.

“I undertook great projects: I built houses for myself and planted vineyards.
I made gardens and parks and planted all kinds of fruit trees in them.  I made
reservoirs to water groves of flourishing trees.  I bought male and female
slaves and had other slaves who were born in my house. I also owned more herds
and flocks than anyone in Jerusalem before me.  I amassed silver and gold for
myself, and the treasure of kings and provinces. I acquired men and women
singers, and a harem as wellÑthe delights of the heart of man.  I became
greater by far than anyone in Jerusalem before me. In all this my wisdom stayed
with me.....Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done and what I had
toiled to achieve, everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind;
nothing was gained under the sun.” (Ecclesiastes 2: 4-11)

There is more to human existence than a full stomach, clothing, housing, and
satisfaction of sensual urges.  Nothing that the political state does can fill
the spiritual void that even a quintessential liberal materialist like Hillary
Clinton bemoaned early in her husband’s first term as President.

Despite Al Gore’s pretensions to save the planet by forcing us to conform to
the Kyoto Treaty, God controls the universe.  The sun will rise and set on
God’s schedule.  Sun spot activity cycles will continue, as they have for the
past several thousand years, to govern global cooling and global warming on
roughly a 100-year cycle, no matter what humans do.

A second lesson from Ecclesiastes is that life is full of tribulations, that
despite the promises of the atheistic and materialistic political state, the
minds of intellectual planners are no match for the awesome power of God.  Not
matter what we humans do, we will always be vulnerable to varying degrees of
trouble, because that is the inherent and unchangeable nature of God’s
creation, the world under the sun.

The presumption of liberal-socialists to perfect humanity and remove all its
ills through regulations and the materialistic benefits of the welfare-state is
like a gnat fluttering its wings in the expectation of redirecting the course
of a hurricane.

“Again I looked and saw all the oppression that was taking place under the sun:
I saw the tears of the oppressedÑ and they have no comforter; power was on the
side of their oppressorsÑ and they have no comforter.  And I declared that the
dead, who had already died, are happier than the living, who are still alive.
But better than both is he who has not yet been, who has not seen the evil that
is done under the sun.  And I saw that all labor and all achievement spring
from man’s envy of his neighbor. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the
wind.” (Ecclesiastes 4: 1-4)

What then are we to do?

“What does the worker gain from his toil?  I have seen the burden God has laid
on men.  He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity
in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning
to end.  I know that there is nothing better for men than to be happy and do
good while they live.  That everyone may eat and drink, and find satisfaction
in all his toilÑthis is the gift of God.  I know that everything God does will
endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does
it so that men will revere him.” (Ecclesiastes 3: 9-14)

“Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and
keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.  For God will bring
every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or
evil.” (Ecclesiastes 12: 13-14)

Attack of the Bloggers

By Nathan Tabor

There was a time in America when the most effective way for the average Joe to make his voice heard in the political process was in the confines of the voting booth.  Once in a while—if he were lucky—he might even get a letter to the editor published in the local newspaper.  But, other than that, it was unlikely that politicians would pay much attention to what he had to say—especially if he lived somewhere between the liberal Coasts—the great American fly-over zone.

But the Internet has changed everything.  Joe Six-Pack can now hook up his computer and his DSL account and blog away his nights.  And the entire world can see his thoughts and e-mail comments back to him.

As a result, political nobodies from nowhere are now emerging on the national Cyberspace stage, opining on everything from the war in Iraq to, well, the strength of other blogs.

Blogs represent the voice of the people—often against the most powerful elements in our society—so they do represent a kind of high-tech democracy in action.

Some political pundits now say the readership for some of the more popular blogs can rival the hits received on major newspaper websites.  Still, I have to wonder, why do media commentators devote so much attention to radically left-wing blogs—especially when these blogs hardly represent the views of SUV-driving, church-going, baseball-loving moms and dads?

We hear, for instance, that incessant Democratic bloggers are trying hard to move their party further to the left, championing Russ Feingold for President.  While Hillary and company seem to be promoting a big tent approach, soft-pedaling their appalling support for abortion on demand and other traditionally liberal issues, here are the diehard bloggers, trying to take the tent and move it to Berkeley.

The fact of the matter is that Democrats simply cannot control their left flank for very long—hence the ascendancy of the conservative movement.  No matter how much the Democratic Party chieftains claim that abortion is a tragic choice…no matter how much they talk about personal responsibility and getting able-bodied men and women off the public dole…their liberal colors eventually show.

This is why, despite claims that the Democrats are going to enjoy an electoral blow-out this fall, it would be wrong to count the party of Reagan out.  While the Democrats can attempt to capitalize on a wave of voter discontent for this election cycle, an initial infatuation with the Dems will pass quickly, once voters realize that this is still the same party that brought us sky-high interest rates, federal binge spending, the replacement of prayer in school with the gospel of gay pride, and endless womanizing in the Oval Office.

In fact, twenty years down the line, I wouldn’t be surprised if our much-maligned President George W. Bush is regarded as one of our finest Presidents.  Why?  Because—when we faced an unprecedented attack on domestic soil on 9/11, the President responded with courage, strength and, yes, even restraint.  He showed himself to be a voice of reason in an age dominated by those who would rather cow-tow to international thugs than to offend the ACLU.

In short, George W. showed himself to be a true leader—something the Democratic Party is still trying to find.

So, let the left-wing bloggers “attack” the Democratic Party bigwigs all they want.  I have full faith that the American people will be able to recognize what the party really stands for—values that are way out of line from what the typical patriotic American holds dear.

In other words, the Democrats are blogging their way to eventual defeat.

The Real Scandal...

Nancy Pelosi’s Quandary
By Nathan Tabor

Ladies and gentlemen, Rep. William Jefferson (D-LA) has left the building!

Well, not really, but House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has managed to set up the removal of Jefferson from the powerful Ways & Means Committee with a 99-58 vote from the House Democratic Caucus. The action still needs to move to the House floor and be ratified before Jefferson gets the proverbial boot.

The Louisiana Representative was recently caught on video by an F.B.I. sting taking $100,000 in bribe money, $90,000 of it recovered from the Congressman’s freezer in his Washington home.

Jefferson’s “situation” has put Democrats, especially Pelosi, in a political quandary. The Democrats have been pushing the idea that Republicans are wallowing in corruption, highlighting lobbyist Jack Abramoff’s connections to Republican congressmen while ignoring his ties to leading Democrats such as Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV).

Representative Tom DeLay (R-TX), who has been charged with money laundering, recently resigned from the House under the cloud of an indictment. But Jefferson, not indicted, but caught on video accepting a bribe, has so far refused to step down. A former aid to the congressman and a businessman who admitted paying bribes to the lawmaker, have already pleaded guilty in the ongoing bribery probe, which adds to the Democrats’ embarrassment.

To further Rep. Pelosi’s problems with her crumbling “culture of corruption” attack on Republicans is the defensive posture now taken by the 43 members of the Congressional Black Caucus – all Democrats—and their insistence that Jefferson be treated with a presumption of innocence. But in the political arena of Washington, public perception is more important than Congressional protocol, forcing the House Minority Leader to take a stand against the political leaders of the all-important African-American vote, a Democratic mainstay.

It’s always interesting when Democrats eat their own. Stay tuned.

CREATION...

The Debate About Origins

by

Rob Hood

I never doubted where my origins when I was growing up. Come to think of it, I really never thought about it that much either. As I grew out of my childhood years and into my teenage years, I became aware that something other than Creation was being taught. I entered high school Biology class and did very well in the course. I never really had a problem with science and still don’t. I myself am a type of scientist I guess you might call it. I studied Electronics in college and learned about the characteristics of electricity and magnetism as well as taking Physical Science in college as an elective. I did well in both and earned my Associates Degree in Electronics, so I am a bit familiar with modern science try to keep up with things of today in magazines like Popular Science and Popular Mechanics.

As I went through my year in high school Biology, I never really paid much attention to the chapter about evolution. I had glanced over it from time to time but never really read it in depth. When it came time for the class to enter this now very controversial chapter, our teacher simply stated that she was not going to teach that chapter because it raised too many questions regarding religion and often sparked trouble with parents. So, we did skip the chapter on evolution.

The debate rages today over evolution versus Intelligent Design, but I really can’t see what all the fuss is about. Intelligent Design theory only gives an alternative to the unproven theory of evolution. In no way does it endorse a particular religion. In no way does it say that Jesus, or Buddha, or Muhammad created the universe. It simply recognizes that a higher authority or supreme being created the universe. It is not specific as to religion or denomination and therefore cannot be associated with mixing religion or Christianity with science.

Some of the greatest scientists in history did believe in a God that created the Universe. Sir Isaac Newton and Galileo were among those. Intelligent Design in itself is not the same as creationism as some has misunderstood. While it does recognize that a higher authority created the universe, it stops right there while Creationism endorses the account of Genesis where God, the Father of Jesus Christ, spoke the universe and all we see today into existence in a literal six day time period, so there is a difference between Creationism and Intelligent Design.

While no one really knows the actual age of the earth itself or the universe itself, scientists on both side of the political spectrum have their own views and theories. Secular scientists who dismiss the Bible as book of errors say that the earth is millions of years old. Dinosaurs existed and died out millions of years before man “appeared” on the scene. Christian scientists who do believe in creation say that the earth is between 4,000 and 6,000 years old and that mankind lived at the same time dinosaurs did and that the larger animals like dinosaurs died by drowning in the flood of Noah.

Of course you might be laughing at this idea, but if you study it carefully and start to see the progress being made in Creation research, you might change your mind. The most asked question about this theory is “If man and dinosaurs existed at the exact same time, them why are human bones and dinosaur bones not found close together”? This is a very good question, but it also has a very good answer according to a top creation researcher Bodie Hodge, a staff member, and educated speaker/researcher for Ken Ham’s Answers In Genesis group. He claims that during the flood of Noah, humans would have fled to higher ground like mountains. Perhaps huge dinosaurs couldn’t climb mountains? Once the flood waters came, it buried plant life and animal life on the lower elevations and fossilized them first. Human bones would be the last to be buried by the flood waters since they were at a higher elevation. If you look at fossil records, there may very well be much truth in this theory.

According to Mr. Hodge, the fossil records show that

95% of all fossils are marine organisms

95% of the remaining 5% are algae, plants, and trees

95% of the remaining 0.25% are invertebrates including insects

the remaining 0.0125% are vertebrates, mostly fish

This does tell us that humans fossils are not found that often but is a great possibility when searching in lower sediments of flood levels.

Some say that the Grand Canyon was formed at the time of Noah’s great flood and there appears to be much more evidence for that now than ever before. A ministry called Canyon Ministries (www.canyonministries.com) places books in tourist centers for tourists visiting the Grand Canyon in which the book discusses evidence found that the canyon was formed from a great flood, not a river.

Whatever the case may be, it still seems to be highly controversial in the area of politics and school. Some private schools and Christian colleges do endorse Creationism and Intelligent Design Theory over evolution and the trend is getting more popular by the day. I know what I was taught as a child and it’s hard for me to comprehend that the whole universe and everything in it just one day accidentally invented itself. I am one to still believe in creationism where God spoke the world into existence. I suppose everyone is entitled to his or her opinion since we live in a free country, but evolution still makes no sense if all of the evidence against it is considered. Even Darwin himself had some doubts about his own theory and yet we see some teaching it today like it is a proven infallible fact, and that makes for bad science indeed.

I saw a picture of a billboard that is growing ever more popular in key Intelligent Design battleground states that simply says “Evolution is a fairy tale for grown-ups” which somehow has some truth to it. Ken Ham of Answers In Genesis (www.answersingenesis.org), a ministry in which I financially and prayerfully support, sure thinks that the message about creation is important. As a matter of fact to show just how important it is to the ministry, they are building a Creation Museum (www.creationmuseum.org) in Kentucky that will be a 50,000 square foot facility. It will feature a 17 foot waterfall, theater that will seat 176 people, a fantastically beautiful main lobby, over 2 miles or nature trails, and some dinosaur models as well as a store and other great features. It is slated to open in the spring of 2007. I can’t wait to go!

As for those of us who do believe in Biblical creation as it is recorded in genesis, we have a long hard battle ahead, but surely the God who created the universe can help us to cope with the issue indeed!

Stop the ACLU Coalition*

Illinois Resident Forms Organization Designed To Expose ACLU
by Nedd Kareiva, director Stop the ACLU Coalition *

I am pleased to introduce the Stop the ACLU Coalition and its corresponding web
site, www.stoptheaclu.org . If you are not familiar with us, please take a few
minutes to read this article.

Towards the end of the summer of 2004, I began the above web site. I did so
after reading in great detail and for some time how extensively the American
Civil Liberties Union was destroying America’s moral infrastructure with its
lawsuits on abortion, same sex “marriage” and the removal of the religious
symbols and the 10 Commandments from public displays. I was greatly troubled
how a group like this was wreaking legal havoc on America and wanted to do
something about it.

For decades, the ACLU was a runaway freight train, scaring schools and city
council meetings with threats of huge legal fees to keep prayer and the 10
Commandments out, among other items. Since its inception in 1920 via founder
Roger Baldwin, the ACLU’s mission was to impose a secular and socialist
(Communist) society.

Early on, the ACLU would file lawsuits to keep religion out of government. It
started with the infamous Scopes Monkey Trial in the 1920s and proceeded to
other causes like defending unions and American Communists. The ACLU would lose
virtually all its cases and almost unanimously from the outset but were
undaunted in its quest to radicalize America. Then in the 1940s, they would
still lose cases but frequently gain a judge or two in its favor. This is about
the time the term “separation of church and state”, which words do not appear
in the Constitution or any other formal U.S. document issued by the Founding
Fathers, would come into fruition and flourish. Groups like the ACLU and
Americans United for Separation of Church and State, which began in 1947, would
tout the term so much it eventually became bastardized.

Not only did the ACLU start to get judges to rule in their favor, but they soon
started to win cases. And this went on for decades. In 1976, the ACLU began
collecting thousands of dollars in legal fees as a result of the Civil Rights
Act enacted by Congress that year. The law was intended for the little guy who
would seek to get justice from the government in civil rights matters. It was
not intended for the likes of the ACLU to keep prayer and religious symbols out
of government, but that is exactly what the ACLU has done over the last three
decades to help line its deep pockets. Accordingly, the Stop the ACLU Coalition
seeks to get Congressional approval to de-fund the likes of the ACLU in such
cases.

In the late 1980’s, Pat Robertson’s 700 Club was the impetus for the first
legal group set out to take on the likes of the ACLU. Born as a result was the
American Center for Law & Justice (www.aclj.org). In the early 1990’s with the
help of Dr. James Dobson and many other frontline individuals in the cultural
arena, another legal organization, the Alliance Defense Fund (www.telladf.org)
would soon be another legal powerhouse to give the ACLU a run for its money.
Other conservative and Christian groups like the Christian Legal Society, the
Thomas More Law Center, the Rutherford Institute and the Pacific Justice
Institute would eventually step up to the plate to meet the ACLU in court. Such
groups have greatly stemmed the tide of ACLU litigation and have won many cases
against them.

However, outside of these legal groups, I saw no one organization in the public
awareness arena whose sole mission would be to take on the ACLU and expose them
to the American people. Other groups existed to challenge the ACLU, but the
ACLU was just one part of their arsenal. I wanted to do something not attempted
before and I began a campaign to tell America the ACLU was not about civil
rights, but its mission was reconstructing American civilization and weakening
our nation overall. Since I knew of no such group in existence, I accepted the
challenge of taking on arguably the most dangerous organization in America.

Since World Net Daily broke the story on the Stop the ACLU Coalition in
November of 2004, this grassroots effort has taken off. Through our state
coordinators (currently 15 in place) and our mailers, we have sent thousands of
letters to churches across America and organized public awareness campaigns. We
have distributed flyers to people throughout the country to advise them of the
ACLU’s agenda. We have appeared on several radio stations across the land. And
in addition to World Net Daily, other conservative and pro-family powerhouse
organizations like the Alliance Defense Fund, American Family Radio, Focus on
the Family, Mission America, Free Republic and the American Legion have
acknowledged our existence and support our efforts.

The Coalition was also recently invited by a college radio station in
conjunction with the local PBS station to appear in a public forum with the
ACLU of Michigan. We quickly accepted the offer. However, when the station
contacted the ACLU’s state director and asked her to join us in the debate, she
refused and thus the forum was canceled. We believe the ACLU can’t defend their
issues in a public setting when there is a group like ours that can counter
their agenda.

The ACLU is an organization with no regard for the will of the American people.
When voters by wide margins enacted legislation at the ballot box to ban, for
example, partial birth abortion and same sex “marriage” as have been done in
Michigan and Nebraska respectively, the ACLU thumbed its nose at the people’s
will and sued. When Virginia lawmakers passed with virtual unanimity in both
chambers a law restricting teens from attending nudist camps without parental
accompaniment, the ACLU stepped in and sued the state. When an online poll by
the Indianapolis Star showed 88% of the people supported the right to mention
Jesus Christ in prayers conducted before the opening of a legislative session,

the ACLU simply didn’t care about the wishes of the public and sued.

The ACLU has defended the Nazis, the KKK, the North American Man/Boy Love
Association (NAMBLA), the pornographers, the abortionists, the militant
homosexuals, Islamic terrorists, illegal aliens and so many more of the evil
influences on America. The organization must be stopped cold.

These are a sampling of items we strive to bring before the public in hopes of
getting Americans to “think outside the box” on the ACLU. We believe if people
knew the truth about the ACLU and shared it with their friends and families,
particularly those who are card-carrying members or simply friendly to the
ACLU, we could mobilize a huge grassroots effort to put this organization out
of business. But it will only occur when large segments of the populace get
involved.

We are very grateful for the legal firms that have taken on the ACLU in court
and have won their cases. We are also thankful for the nearly 3100 subscribers
who support the mission of the Stop the ACLU Coalition and challenge the ACLU’s
mission in the public arena. The STOP the ACLU Coalition and groups organized
to fight the ACLU in the legal arena can make a huge dent in the ACLU’s agenda.
However, we need many more people in the fight. It is winnable. But we need
thousands, if not millions, of Americans to join us and stand up and be
counted.

How about you?

The Dixie Chicks: Counting Chickens before they are hatched
by Robert E. Meyer

Just a short while ago, USA Today did a feature article on the country band The
Dixie Chicks. They became infamous in March of 2003, when their leader, Natalie
Maines, stated that she was embarrassed to be a native of Texas because of
President Bush’s decision to invade Iraq. Immediately radio stations boycotted
their albums, former fans boycotted concerts, and they were dubbed as
unpatriotic cheap shot artists. The starship that had soared to the top of the
country music charts abruptly
crashed to earth.

When Ms. Maines realized she had stuck her foot into her mouth up to the
kneecap, a feeble attempt at damage control was initiated in the form of a half-
hearted apology for disrespecting the office of the president. A friend used to
offer me this rhetorical question: “When someone steps on your foot and says
‘I’m sorry,’ are they sorry for what they did or only sorry that they got
caught?” Well I’m sorry, I simply cannot give Ms. Maines the benefit of the
doubt on this one. I think the apology
was an attempt to stop the hemorrhage in the pocketbook and career, not a
remorseful act of contrition.

Now we discover the dissenting trio is back with a new promoter, new song
portfolio, and hopefully a fresh start. In keeping with the spirit of renewal,
the seemingly cocky Ms. Maines now wishes to withdraw the apology made to
president Bush after the March 2003 verbal indiscretion. Ever hear of the old
adage about letting a sleeping dog lie? Maines would rather go out of her way
to kick the dog in the ribs.

Have you ever heard of someone withdrawing an apology? That sounds so
infantile, it reminds me of the thoughtfulness and maturity that goes into a
preschool childrens’ sandbox tussle over a coveted toy.

Of course everyone has a right to their opinion. Everyone has a right to free
speech. Personally I don’t care what the Dixie Chicks think, and don’t begrudge
them the opportunity to say it. Sometimes though, it is how you go about
getting your message across that rubs folk the wrong way. To suggest that the
Dixie Chicks are courageous is just plain stupidity. They made a calculated
risk, or perhaps an impulsive indiscretion, and it cost them dearly. Now, of
course, there was no lesson learned
about focusing more on music, rather than letting your fame become a platform
for politicizing a captive audience.

One thing I find so disturbing about liberals, is that they bend over backwards
to give sworn enemies of this country the benefit of the doubt, while at the
same time they rush to judgement against their own leaders. That persona was
recently epitomized by the father of Nicolas Berg, the man beheaded in a
graphic video by the late terrorist al-Zarqawi. Berg said that he was
disappointed this terrorist was killed since he could not attempt a
reconciliation with him now. As if the two might have
someday had a nice chat and a hug on an episode of Opra. He said he wasn’t sure
that al-Zarqawi was really dead (or killed recently). He asked the reporter
interviewing him if she believed everything she saw and heard. Then he went on
the overworked diatribe about Bush being a liar, and so we can only wonder if
Mr. Berg himself believes everything he sees or hears that fits his template of
reality.

There is a parallel with the Dixie Chicks. One can talk about peace, love,
WWJD, stop the atrocities, etc. Then you have a hateful act of withdrawing an
apology. What does that really say about someone’s graciousness at a personal
level?

All this nonsense about people trying to interfere and squelch the group’s
freedom of speech is out of order. People have a right to speak there minds.
Myself and others have the right to voice our displeasure with their public
opinions however. As a favor, I won’t try to tell you that the Dixie Chicks
have lost a fan, or I quit buying their music. You see, I have never been a fan
of the Dixie Chicks, so they won’t lose what they never had.

Personally I wish the Dixie Chicks the best in their new endeavor, though I
won’t be sucked in out of curiosity. I know they are talented musicians and
vocalists. I wish that they and others would stick to what they are good at--or
become political columnists.

Slick Willy legacy continues through Howard Dean...

Howard Dean:  Karl Rove Lied About Committing Perjury!

There must be a full moon or other celestial madness to explain
Howard Dean’s appearance on the Today show Tuesday morning.

Dean was responding to what must have been devastating news to
the DNC Chairman and liberals all over America:  Karl Rove will
NOT be indicted!

http://drudgereport.com/flash3ri.htm

While Dean did not remove his tie, go into rant mode, and
break-down mentally as he did after the Iowa caucus, Dean came
close with this brilliant, paraphrased statement:

‘If Karl Rove had been indicted it would have been for perjury.
.........… he doesn’t belong in the White House. ......… So
I think this is probably good news for the White House, but its
not very good news for America’

So, good Dr., are you alleging that the honorable Karl Rove lied
his way out of a perjury indictment?  Serious charges, those!

Although Democrats thought it was a minor matter when their
adulterous hillbilly from Arkansas---AKA, Bill
Clinton---committed perjury, was caught doing so by Ken Starr,
was disbarred from practicing law, and was impeached by the US
House for perjury.

Mind you, Slick Willy was the chief law enforcement officer of
the nation at the time.  The president of the United States,
for goodness sakes!

Still, Clinton was a liberal Democrat and EVERYONE knew he was a
liar before he ran for president.

That excuses Slick Willy, right?

Why, then, did the Supreme Court banish Clinton from arguing
before the SCOTUS for several years?

Bottom Line:  Say what you will about Karl Rove, at least he was
not stupid enough to get caught committing perjury!

Many Southern Baptists Bypassing Public Schools
by Greg Allen

All Things Considered, May 27, 2006 · A growing number of Southern Baptists are
pulling their children out of public schools in favor of private, religious
education. It’s a controversial trend, with some Baptists arguing that the
church should stay engaged with the public school system.

Democrats Hypocritical on Marriage

By Nathan Tabor

It’s become the common refrain in numerous news reports around the country—Republicans are simply using the Marriage Amendment as an election-year ploy to get voters to back GOP candidates in the fall.

After all, state initiatives to ban same-sex marriage had people flocking to the polls in a previous election cycle.

But, in the interests of fairness, isn’t it reasonable to question the political posturing from the “other side of the aisle” in the marriage debate?  After all, if Republicans could, theoretically, use the marriage issue to shore up their base, couldn’t Democrats, too?

For decades now, homosexual activists have been part of the core of the Democratic Party.  When Democrats talk about diversity, they are not simply speaking about skin color.  National Democratic leaders, in fact, routinely invoke “gay pride” in their attempt to pander to people who want government validation for their lifestyle—a lifestyle that, in the end, can lead to a myriad of tragic consequences:  STDs, alcohol and drug abuse, suicide attempts.

Legalizing same-sex marriage will not end the vicious cycle of desperation and depression which, as a number of ex-homosexuals readily attest, often accompany the ironically-termed “gay life.” Rather than building healthy families, the legal recognition of same-sex marriage will only further erode the stability of our communities.

As President George W. Bush stated in his weekly radio address, “Ages of experience have taught us that the commitment of a husband and wife to love and to serve one another promotes the welfare of children and the stability of society. Government, by recognizing and protecting marriage, serves the interests of all.”

And that’s the critical point here—serving the interests of all.  For years, the Democratic Party has been sacrificing the interests of ordinary Americans in the name of protecting special interest groups. These groups have included not only activists with a radical homosexual agenda, but also so-called “women’s rights” activists who have attempted to legitimize the killing of the most defenseless members of society—unborn children.  Democratic Party kingpins have also pandered to people who have attempted to increase the racial divide, sanctioning discrimination when it served their political interests.  In today’s world, highly-qualified people can be rejected for jobs simply because of their skin color, under the guise of “affirmative action.”

In a statement indicative of Democratic double-speak, Sen. Edward M. Kennedy of Massachusetts said, “A vote for this (marriage) amendment is a vote for bigotry pure and simple.” For the government to say that marriage should be safeguarded as a union of a man and a woman is not bigotry. It’s common sense.  It’s also an attempt to protect order in an increasingly disordered world.

The mayor of San Francisco—the hub of the homosexual rights movement—has had the audacity to say that the defense of marriage is a Republican attempt to placate evangelical Christians.  As if a mayor who issues marriage licenses to homosexual couples in a city considered to be the center of “gay power” is not pandering to his “core constituency.”

The effort to protect marriage is not a political move.  The traditional family is the strength of America.  The family has given us Presidents and prelates, statesmen and scientists, diplomats and doctors.  It is in the family that we first learn how to think…how to speak…and how to behave.  Granted, there are so many tragic cases of families in turmoil today, but it is not the institution of marriage that is to blame.

Traditional marriage is, in fact, America’s best hope for keeping our society secure, our neighborhoods at peace, and our children safe from harm.  Without marriage, we might as well put away the American flag and replace it with the white flag of surrender.

CELEBRATE!

Journalists Applaud Al-Zarqawi’s Death
by Sharon Hughes

Having vowed loyalty to Osama bin Laden in 2004 and orchestrating what the Washington Post calls the bloodiest suicide bombings of the insurgency, beheading hostages and slaughtering thousands if Iraqis in order to incite a civil war with the goal of driving America’s presence out of Iraq, al-Zarqawi was killed in a U.S. air strike along with his spiritual advisor, Sheik Abdul Rahman, on Wednesday.

Iraqis provided the intelligence and U.S. forces conducted 17 raids culminating in a target hit on the most-wanted militant terrorist leader, who had the same U.S. bounty on his head as Osama bin Laden - $25 million.

His identity was confirmed by fingerprints, and when Iraq’s Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki announced al-Zarqawi’s death loud applause broke from Iraqi journalists.

What? Journalist applauding the news? Think about it. Iraqi journalists broke out in loud applause at the news of al-Zarqawi’s death! Did American journalists do the same when President Bush announced the news? Or in another venue? Nope.

The Left’s talk show hosts were off the chart on the news. As pointed out by Tim Graham at Newsbusters:

“I caught some of the opening minutes of the Stephanie Miller show today (on Air America). They were playing clips of the Rose Garden Bush remarks and just mocking his accent. “He’s extra-twangy today,” mocked Miller. The show’s impressionist started doing Bush in a William Buckley-esque Connecticut accent, implying the Texas talk is all phony. Then they began joking “we’re auditioning for a new boogey-man,” as if Zarqawi was a phantom in a closet.”

And on his way home from work he caught Randi Rhodes on the same channel, who clearly is in the running for the most biased, blind, complete spin-off-the-planet comments!

“Hoo boy. She was saying Zarqawi was our boy, someone we protected in the no-fly zone from Saddam Hussein, and then used as an excuse for war. A few minutes later, she complained it was a “sick, psychotic” day for news, and said the rulers of America were “imperialistic, hegemonistic....dictators.”

Unbelievable! The days that follow I’m sure will find more liberal ‘reasoning’ to why catching this mass murderer of the Iraqi people and our troops is no big deal. Just watch.

Bad News for Liberals:

Bad News for Liberals:  Zarqawi is dead!

Most Liberals arising this morning will assume today is just
another great day to attack the GOP, the war in Iraq, and,
especially, GW Bush.

Every day is great for tearing America down and advancing the
interests of terrorism. Right, libs?

Well, wake up leftist wackos!

There is actually some GOOD news for REAL Americans this
morning:

Abu Musab Zarqawi, leader of Al Qaeda in Iraq, was killed by a
U.S. airstrike!

Repeat:  Zarqawi is dead!

At the hands of that awful US military liberals love to hate!

On the bright side, liberals can spend today dwelling on these
uplifting facts:

*Osama bin Laden is still on the loose

*Gasoline prices are much, much higher than a year ago

*GW Bush’s poll numbers are in the sewer

*The US economy added only 70,000 new jobs in May

*Unemployment is at a wicked 4.6%.....Bush’s ‘jobless’ recovery!

*GW Bush’s poll numbers are in the sewer

*Karl Rove is about to be indicted

*Poverty is growing in America, and

*GW Bush’s poll numbers are in the sewer

Life must be hell when ‘good’ news for America is depressing.
Constantly rooting for ‘bad’ news must be exhausting.

The World According to Howard Dean
by Nathan Tabor

A political party chief is a lot like a football coach.  He has to recruit quality players…try to mold them into champions…and produce a winning record.

Otherwise, he’s likely to be benched from the political game forever.

So, you would think that a national political party chairman would do everything possible to re-elect proven winners from his party.  After all, control of both houses of Congress could hinge on the outcome of races in some key states.

But, let’s face it—Howard Dean, the chairman of the Democratic National Party—is not your typical party chairman.

Dean’s quixotic quest for the Presidency led to the founding of an organization known as Democracy for America.  (As if democracy in America is some sort of new concept).  Well, Democracy for America isn’t about to back a proven vote-getter—even if he is a stalwart Democrat.  Instead, the organization is endorsing “upstart challenger” Ned Lamont.

Democracy for America is blasting incumbent Democratic Senator Joe Lieberman for doing the unthinkable—supporting the President. The organization goes so far as to call Lieberman “George Bush’s favorite Democrat.” The group claims good old Joe has supported the President on “issue after issue.” These issues include things like supporting the nominations of Justices Roberts and Alito to the U.S. Supreme Court—a move that—shockingly!—most Americans also supported.

Lieberman also had the audacity to support the President’s war on terror.  And he once issued this statement which—horrors!—borders on the patriotic: “It is time for Democrats who distrust President Bush to acknowledge that he will be Commander-in-Chief for three more critical years, and that in matters of war we undermine Presidential credibility at our nation’s peril.”

In a time of war—when our nation’s security is at stake—Lieberman dared to suggest that Democrats shouldn’t say anything that might jeopardize our efforts to win a war against an amoral enemy.  And for this, Democracy for America wants him punished?

And what were Lieberman’s other unforgivable transgressions?  The Vice President called him “a fine U.S. Senator.” If d*** Cheney had called him a national disgrace, would that have been a good reason to back Lieberman?  There are rumors that the President considered Lieberman for a post in his Cabinet.  Now, we don’t know if Lieberman would have accepted such a position, but the fact that George W. Bush might have even considered him for one of the most important posts in Washington is apparently reason enough to throw Lieberman out of office.

And what will Lamont do that Lieberman won’t? Apparently, he’ll provide a knee-jerk negative reaction to every Bush policy that comes down the pike. Democracy for America suggests he’ll be criticizing Bush for threatening our moral and economic future, our civil liberties, and our nation’s security.  He’ll also advocate “a new direction in Iraq.” Would that be in the direction of defeat?

There was a time when statesmen spoke of ending partisan bickering in Washington…of working past party differences in order to govern the nation in a spirit of unity and teamwork.  But Democracy for America wants no part of that. The organization’s leaders want all discord—all the time.  If the President says “yes,” they want Democratic members of Congress to say “no”—apparently, no matter what the issue.

And the irony here is that Democracy for America is adopting policy stands which, if put up for a democratic vote of the people, would probably lose hands-down.

This organization is clearly misnamed. It should be referred to as Liberals for America.  Or make that Liberals against the American President.  Democrats who veer from the radical liberal line and dare to say a kind word for a Republican President need not apply for any political post—even if they do have a winning record.

REVIVING AMERICA!

When America Dies
An Open Letter to Christians in America

By

Rob Hood

Dear Fellow Believers:

I write to you today to bring to your attention the condition of our land in which we live. America used to be a nation that was called the Christian nation. People used to have respect for pastors and men of God. People used to have respect for each other. Kids minded their parents at and their teachers at school and it was legal to discipline them when they misbehaved.

Today children have little if any respect for their elders and even less respect for teachers because of the lack of social discipline in today’s secular society. Children are indoctrinated by schools with false teachings of immoral behavior and silly superstitions and man made myths designed to put asunder the moral and righteous upbringing that Christian parents teach. They are taught that God did not create the universe and that God is not even real, but a state of mind. They are taught that sex outside of marriage is o.k. and that condoms are the answer to healthy relationships. These teachings are purely secular and absolutely go against everything taught in the Bible and taught in a Christian home.

Not only are your small children being brainwashed and indoctrinated all the way from Kindergarten through twelfth grade, but it gets much worse in college. Now your kids are grown up and you can only hope that they follow the example set before them in home and church for the last eighteen years. Some make it fine and some are brainwashed by super liberal professors who hate the name of Christ and will do anything to turn America in to a super state of 1960s radical liberalism and forever stamp out 2000 years of Christian faith in the world at large.

Your children are being harassed by radicals who label others as “bigots” and dividers if one does not succumb to their demands of secular approval. Homosexuality is being taught as normal in the schools and we all know that not only is it not normal, but it is a sexual perversion and a sin before God. No law, president, judge, scholar, professor, or nation can ever change that either. It is written in the Holy Bible which was inspired directly from God himself, sometimes even in person and no one has the right, ability, or authority to even question it, much less change it. We don’t really need a marriage amendment because we already have one located within the confines of the Holy Bible and that’s enough marriage amendment for any follower of God to have at his or her disposal.

We also have to be careful of who we blame for America’s problems. I am as guilty as anyone for blaming others for my problems and I fully admit my guilt in doing so. I, more than Ann Coulter probably, blame liberals for many of America’s problems.

While liberals do share a tremendous portion of guilt to demoralizing our traditional social structure of America, much of the blame falls directly on the Church itself. It is easy to blame liberals because we do see how they often go against the Word of God, but we can also blame ourselves as Christians because we allow it to take place.

Muslims fall on their knees and pray five times a day. How many times do we as Christian pray about our situation of the lost here in America? If every bible believing Christian in America would pray for a spiritual revival like the Day of Pentecost, then this nation would be a different place today. Perhaps if we prayed more and told more about Jesus and salvation, we wouldn’t have so much drugs, rapes, killings, prostitution, homosexuality, adultery, incest, and other sins.

What America needs today more than ever is revival. There are some today in this land who call themselves Christian but go against the very Christ whom they name themselves after. Recently a group of clergy was seen opposing the Federal Marriage Amendment and openly accepting homosexuality and same-sex marriage as normal. This bothers me because these people are clergy and are supposed to be leaders by example but instead they have betrayed their congregations, betrayed their country, and more than that, they have ultimately betrayed God.

The Bible does say that it is better to have never become a Christian at all than to become one and then betray the faith. These leaders have done just that and more. They have caused a false following which is worse than no following at all. These leaders betray God in the name of political correctness in order to obtain a measure of good standing with secular society. If you are a real Christian, you adhere to the Word of God and not waiver from it in the least. You can’t have it both ways. You either follow God or you follow the world, so please choose which one you want to go with and stop confusing us all. While what these clergy are doing is clearly un-Biblical, I do not question their salvation, only their dedication to God and what the Word of God teaches.

There is an urgent need for salvation and repentance today in the land in which we live. It seems to me that we live in a mean and cruel world that is getting worse by the day and I feel the urgency to change that before it’s too late.

I remember September 11, 2001 very well. I was sitting at my desk at work running some final tests on various electronic products when I heard the news. My boss called and said that a plane had crashed into the World Trade Center. At the time, I thought it was tragic and perhaps just a freak accident, but then when I heard that the other plane crashed into the other building I knew immediately that something was terribly wrong.

As the day went on and I learned of events unfolding and saw the horror on TV, I felt so sorry for those poor folks in New York. My heart still goes out to those who lost loved ones on that day. However as the week went by I can remember being so angry that I just wanted us to find Bin Laden and hang him from the tallest tree in America so that the rest of Al Qaeda could watch. Then I realized that my anger was getting the best of me and I did eventually stop thinking those thoughts because they were very un-Christian.

While these events were bad, I remembered something I have always been taught and knew from the Bible as well. No matter what happens and no matter how bad the situation is, God is still in control. He will never allow something to happen that we can’t handle with his guidance.

The reason that I go back to this story is that I wanted to play Pat Robertson for just a minute. He does say things out of the ordinary sometimes, but I do still support His ministry. My personal opinion of what happened on September 11, 2001 is that perhaps God used our own enemy as a warning for us to change our ways before He destroys this land. If you take a look back into the Old Testament, can you count how many times God used enemies of Israel to judge his own people? Even though the Babylonians were wicked and not at all in touch with the one true God of Israel, God did use them to judge Israel and bring His people back to him. Could God be sending us the same warnings? Perhaps it will take a nation like China or Iran to drop us a nuke to bring us back. I sure hope not, but one way or another God does not allow sinful nations to exist for very long at a time. Every civilization that has ever existed and gone astray from God has been destroyed. Every last one of them! Remember Sodom and Gomorrah? Well if you go to the South end of the Dead Sea and dig deep enough through the salt filled water, sand and ash, you might accidentally find a remnant of one of those cities destroyed for its perversion and betrayal to God.

Sodom and Gomorrah was destroyed because there was not one righteous person in either city. NOT ONE! America still has hope and that hope lies within the church and its duty to proclaim the gospel message to every nation. Just as Jesus said, the gospel will reach every nation, and then the end will come. Already there are literally hundreds of people in Iraq turning from Islam to Christianity every single day and that is something that you won’t hear on a mainstream news media outlet – EVER! Under Saddam Christianity was illegal and the land of Israel was under constant attack from Iraqi paid, Hamas trained suicide bombers, but God fixed that and now people are turning the opposite direction which is one more thing the mainstream anti-Christian news media will not allow to be put on the air if they can help it.

The whole world climate was changed by sin at one time. At one time it did not rain on the earth-ever! The Bible teaches that a fine mist came from the ground and kept everything properly watered. This all changed when God judged the world by causing never before seen rain to fall for forty days and forty nights and destroyed all of mankind except for Noah and his family. The Bible also teaches that God wished that he had never even created man because he had grown so wicked except for Noah and his family. So God does judge sin. Let’s please remember this.

It seems as if people misinterpret Jesus as well. People on the left all the time quote me scriptures of which I have studied my whole life. They often tell me I am a “bigot” or I will be the one in Hell because I am “intolerant” of others. I seem to remember Jesus getting a little upset one day and driving money changers out of the temple with a whip. Are they going to now call Jesus “intolerant” too? Jesus had every right to do this because, first of all he existed before the world did and was by His father’s side when the Universe was spoken into existence in six literal days by the account we have in Genesis over 6,000 years ago. Next, he was the Son of God who owned the universe and everything in it, especially that temple. He drove the money changers out not because they were wicked and were cheating people, but because they were doing it in the temple, or the house of God, which today would be a church.

Yes Jesus does love everyone and desires that everyone go to Heaven, but not everyone will. Yes, Jesus taught love and sacrifice, but He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords who will one day return and Judge the world, so I wouldn’t take the whole “tolerance” thing too seriously. It is the church’s responsibility to convey the message of salvation not forgetting that while Jesus is love, he is also an all powerful Son of God who chose to die of His own free will. We really owe him. He owes us nothing, but chooses to give us eternal life if we follow Him.

It is up to the church to do its job of praying, taking care of the needs of others, and taking a stand for what is right no matter the consequences. Someday it might be illegal for pastors to preach against homosexuality just as it is in some countries already. It’s only a matter of time before it hits American shores. No matter what law is passed we still have a responsibility to God much more than we have to man’s law. The Bible does teach us that we are to obey the laws of man, but not when it contradicts the laws of God. We might be punished on earth for a short time, but will receive an award in Heaven for eternity. I would much rather spend 25 years in prison on earth for preaching the Word of God and go to Heaven for eternity than I had to live in a luxury mansion a billionaire and die and go to hell for eternity.

Hell itself is a real literal place, not some imagined state of mind. Even some Christians doubt hell, but it is mention in the Bible more than 150 times and yet they still dispute it for unknown reasons. America truly does need to wake up and face the reality that one day, possibly soon God may judge this nation for betraying our faith to Him. Some of that responsibility might fall on the shoulders of liberals who created a God less society without morals, values, character, or common sense, but ultimately we as Christian will be held responsible by God in the end because it is OUR job to go out and witness to those who are lost and we are not doing that. Sometimes we may be restricted by the ACLU or some other group or reason, but the devil has never been able to keep the word of God silent and he will never succeed in doing so. Some on the left, and even some Christians ask the question “If God has so much love then, why does He send them to hell”? There is a quite simple explanation for this. God does not allow sin into Heaven. Though salvation with Jesus, sin is washed away, forgiven, and never mentioned again. However, when one rejects Jesus, he also rejects the cleansing of his sins there fore condemning himself. If you end up in Hell it will be because you rejected God. He offers salvation 27-7 if you ask. He never rejects anyone who asks sincerely, but not turning to him would be rejecting Heaven on purpose. In short, Jesus never rejects men into Heaven. Men reject Jesus therefore sending themselves into hell.

If America falls or if Jesus comes back tonight it will be the church who is responsible for the shape of this country because the responsibility of keeping right with God and not straying from the truth falls on our shoulders. It is our duty and mandate by Jesus Christ himself, not to judge the opposition of which we are all guilty of, but to lead them to the saving knowledge of the lord and savior Jesus Christ. Perhaps instead of arguing we can start witnessing to people and win them over God and away from evil thinking society.

So, fellow church members I leave you with a challenge. Revive your spirits. Pray more often and more intensely. Witness to someone every day, and don’t let politics get in your way of serving god. Serve God with all your heart, soul, and strength and pray daily that you will not fall prey to temptation. We need to revive America before it is too late and there is no America to revive. Remember that it is YOUR responsibility as to what happens to our values and morals in Christ. Traditional values are almost dead and some even want it dead but we cannot afford to let the opposition take control and destroy what is left of America. We can save America, but we are going to have to pull together as a massive force and stick together to do so.

It is our job to oppose any wrong doing that our leaders impose on society. Same sex marriage, abortion, extra-marital sex, defamation of God and the Ten Commandments, defamation of Christmas, teaching of evolution as fact, outlawing of prayer in school, etc. are just a few of the heavily debated items that we need to address in America before we lose it to the secular world. These issues determine which direction our land goes. It can go down into the pits of Sodom or it can return to normal and as it always has been. It is our sole responsibility to keep core Christian values and pass them on to the next generation so that they too can enjoy the freedoms of America without persecution.

I talked earlier about the trouble in the school systems and about the secularization of the nation’s youth by rogue leaders in teaching positions. The best way to counter that and make sure that your child has an education filled with math, science, reading, English, computer, etc. and free from wicked subject like homosexuality, abortion, and adulterous sex education is to take them out of the public school if they are in one and place them in a private Christian school that teaches core traditional principles instead of secular idealism. It would be even better if you could afford it, to home school your children. The earlier you can get them away from the public schools and away from the NEA’s policies, the better chance you will be. If this is done, then by the time he or she is college age indoctrination by liberal professors will be almost impossible.

As I leave you, remember to keep the faith and never betray your lord or His teachings in exchange for popular demand by the secular worldview. There is a straight and narrow road to heaven and a winding crooked wide open road to hell. I hope you are on the right road and wish you luck in fulfilling the challenge that has been set before you. Remember that not everyone will change or be saved. Some will gladly accept the invitation the Holy Spirit puts upon their hearts, but some will never be saved. A tragedy indeed! However, don’t be discouraged when one yells at you or threatens you because of your message of hope and salvation.

I was witnessing to two ladies the other day. Both were escorts and each one had a different approach to the gospel message. Although both rejected the message (and the messenger) they reacted differently. One lady simply questioned why I was telling her this and didn’t seem to be offended but I was told to leave her alone. The other was very angry and yelled and screamed and threatened to have me arrested for harassment. Nevertheless I never gave up. I did respect the girls and did not mention this again, but I also prayed for them and continue to do so. Even though they rejected the message, a seed was planted for them to think about.

Normally it takes time for some to accept their sin and ask for forgiveness and salvation. Some may never, but some will. I have found that most often it is those who are hate the gospel message the most turn out to later be the most devoted Christians. I have heard many stories of ex-Atheists who have been saved and now preach the Word of God. Ex-atheists make good preachers because they know what it’s like to not have a belief system compared to having salvation. Ex-homosexuals make the best witnesses for same-sex couples and individual homosexuals. Exodus International sure has great record of ex-atheist homosexuals who are now straight men who preach about Jesus. So, ladies and gentlemen, don’t get discouraged when the message is rejected. It is now our duty to save them. It is only our duty to tell the about Jesus. It is then their decision whether they accept it or deny it. We as Christians will not be judged on Judgment Day by our actions on earth as the unsaved will, but how we lived our life for Christ and how we served as a witness to him. What better time and place to start than right now in free America!

Attention Meathead:

California Voters to Rob Reiner: Get Outta Here, Meathead!

In a stunning victory for the forces of sanity and goodness over liberal lunacy, California voters let Rob Reiner know that socialism may be trendy in Hollywood, but is not in favor everywhere in the Golden State.

Even when it comes to taxing the rich, at least some Californians still have good sense.  Although, as could have been predicted months ago, the measure met with the approval of liberal nutcases in San Francisco

On a state-wide basis, voters trounced Reiner’s hair-brained scheme---Proposition 82--- to tax the state’s wealthiest residents in order to provide preschool for every 4-year old child.  http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercurynews/14758907.htm

In Algoreland, Failure is a Success
By Nathan Tabor

As eco-expert Al Gore’s movie, “An Inconvenient Truth,” continues its limited run, one has to question the success of a movie that has pulled in a measly $1.34 million in the last two weeks. Gore’s apologists are claiming that if you look at the small number of theaters the movie is playing in – 77, the average take is almost $18,000 per outlet. Of course, it certainly helps if the 77 theaters are located in liberal strongholds such as New York City or Los Angeles. Try showing this political film in Winston-Salem, North Carolina or any city in Texas. How anybody can triumph a movie that has pulled in a mere $1.34 million and call it a success is beyond ludicrous – except in Algoreland.

To take this liberal spin to an even more confusing level, it’s now being reported that Gore’s name can no longer be found on Paramount Studio’s poster campaign for the 100-minute film. “It’s not a political movie,” a top studio executive said (Uh-huh), but that still doesn’t explain the removal of the ex-Vice President’s name from the posters, as the Drudge Report reveals— http://www.drudgereport.com/ Research from a competing film studio might be on to something more obvious as to the name wiped clean of the newest print run of posters; “…marketing research showed little audience interest in a movie starring Al Gore,” says a movie executive.

Could it be that the only inconvenient truth here is that the movie is a box office bomb?

Great Words!

The Anti-Christs Live Amongst Us

by Bob Parks

Today is June 6th, 2006. “666” is supposedly the day when the
Anti-Christ will be born. I contend that several million currently walk amongst
us.

Last weekend, one of my kids during a passing conversation said that,
with all due respect, some in our generation are kind of “computer
challenged”. I had to remind him, with all due respect, that it was our
generation that created computers and the Internet. It’s his generation
that simply uses them.

The more and more I think about it, I have to admit, I hate kids today.
There are times I can barely tolerate my own.

I’ve come to despise those we used to call “soccer moms.” You know,
those women who are slavishly devoted to her kids and will drop everything
to drive them here, cook several different dishes for several different
“orders”, go to all the PTA meetings, sell hot dogs at all the Little
League games, basically give up most of her waking hours to kids whose
last thought it is to issue a simple “thank you”, and at the end of the
day think they’re better than the rest of us because they care about
their kids more than the rest of us do.

(The following is the commencement address I should have read....)

Now that a lot of high school commencements are over, complete with
student speeches describing how they’ve grown, how much they’ve learned
about themselves, and how much all of this was always all about them, I’m
going to be one parent whose going to tell them just how much (or
little) I think of them.

A few weeks ago, Hillary Clinton publicly commented on how she believes
this generation thinks “work” is a four-letter word, and how they feel
oh so entitled. Her daughter then publicly launched in to her and
Hillary backed down and apologized. This woman wants to be president, yet
can’t stand up to her own kid who because of family name, graduated from
two pricey colleges and is now earning six-figures. But what else would
Chelsea expect?

How many times do you tell a kid anything with him or her responding “I
know....”, but when you ask them why they did something bad, their
response is almost always “I dunno....”

In a few short years from now, these kids are going to be running the
show. God help us as these kids are already breeding more self-absorbed
brats.

A lot of the blame for this lost generation is some of us parents and
an intrusive government system that acts like they own our kids. I’ll
personally never forgive pop culture and Hollywood that continues to
portray parents as punchline buffoons and the kids as wise-a** geniuses. Be
it the whiny, social skills-challenged babies on “The Real World”, or
the entitlement-sickening brats on “Sweet Sixteen” which is probably the
worst show ever produced for kids, they can out-sass us and that’s
supposed to be cool.

Government intrusion in family affairs is a big problem.

Not that I advocate abuse, but why can’t we smack the crap out of our
kids anymore? Surely when I got smacked as a youth it was because I
pushed the envelope and did something really bad. After the smackdown, I
thought long and hard before I did it again. Because of do-something
politicians and make-work government employees in your neighborhood
Department of Social Services (they should just take the D off of DSS), kids
have been encouraged to report parents who attempt to discipline them.

Shouting at them is “emotional abuse.” Spanking is “physical abuse.”
The result are parents who are powerless to address the many instances of
malfeasance by back-talking, no-conscience youth.

In a prelude to their liberal indoctrination to come in their later
academic years, kids today have been taught that they have “rights.”
Parents indulge them by letting them wear whatever they want, pierce
themselves more than Africans, provide them their “crack” (cell phone minutes
that they always seem to run out of despite the pricey plans their
parents obtain), and seldom do we get any gratitude. Instead, kids go right
to the fridge, eat more than than their share, and give your family
provisions to their friends who aren’t supposed to be in your home when
parents are not for all the obvious legal reasons. Rules are constantly
broken because kids feel entitled to do whatever they want. Deal with
it, Chelsea.

There are no “no’s” that are binding. Telling a kid to avoid MySpace
because of the obvious hazards, results in an eye-rolling that makes the
back of our hands tingle, yet we all know the moment we walk out the
door, both AIM is activated and MySpace is opened.

I wish I could have had an “emotional day” off when I was younger. On
those occasions when I knew I was in for a traditional a**-whuppin’ from
a school bully, a day off would have been nice. Bullying was not a
crime in those days and we all had to learn how to embrace our fears, and
more times than not, the a**-whuppin’ never happened. Today’s kids are
wimps.

They cry on national television reality shows when things don’t go
their way. They are devoid of personal responsibility, and when they hang
out amidst riots and get hurt (or worse), it’s everybody else’s fault.
They go to spring break, drink while underage until all hours, and
should some evil befall them, we never ask why they were there in the first
place doing what they were doing. That would be insensitive.

We’ve created shortcuts in life they now expect. Instead of paying
their dues and growing naturally in a craft, we prematurely award them as
American Idols, and their careers are mediocre at best. We watch them
complain about how hard their short lives have been constantly on MTV.
What kind of generation is this going to be? I fear for the future....

One afternoon a few weeks ago, I heard a fairly loud and arrhythmic
banging outside our home. I peeked through the blinds and saw one of the
kids in my extended family taking Barry Bonds-like swings with a
baseball bat on the doors of his car and rear taillight. Apparently, instead
of performing the routine maintenance required as responsible car
ownership mandates, he blew the money he bums off his mother elsewhere, and
when the car started to fail, it was the car’s fault.

I can only imagine what would be going through my mind if people bought
the house next door and within their first month in a new neighborhood,
we all witness a kid bashing the hell out of his car in their driveway.
I’d be talking about them in the most unflattering of terms. What kids
do to embarrass their parents is the last thing in their minds, because
God knows, their response as to why they do what they do is always “I
dunno....”

So, what will the future bring?

This generation can’t write new music or a decent movie script. Rap
artists will be sampling radio jingles soon after they deplete the
Time-Warner music library for hooks. There are hundreds of bad, old television
shows and movies that today’s movie executives will remake, and it’s
only a matter of time before we have a reality show based around a toilet
cam. Today’s youth will really find that funny.

I’m sure many of you will be extremely upset that I show so much
disdain for today’s kids. Maybe I am getting old and this is a cyclical
sentiment. I remember my Dad’s generation looking down on us, be they could
at least get some satisfaction by issuing a good old fashioned spanking
that eventually got our minds right. Again, I’ve never advocated child
abuse, but you can’t tell me that there haven’t been times that some of
you parents haven’t felt like chaining your spoiled brat to a radiator
when you know they’ll defy a justified grounding.

If this rant sounds unreasonable, think about this: this generation of
kids are some of the most heartless we’ve ever seen. They’ll take over
a whole neighborhood, participating in violent gang activity that makes
those in “West Side Story” look like pansies. They plot to shoot up and
bomb their schools, and are yet dumb enough to document their plans on
blogs. Some succeed.

They’ll show no mercy for their parent’s bank accounts as they rack up
more minutes on their cellphones (that we stupidly justified giving
them for “safety” reasons), and they’ll pout when we reign them in because
we just can’t afford to pay over $100 a month so they can talk to their
friends constantly on a cellphone instead of the boring home phone.

Besides computer viruses, what will they create? That would take
imagination, and those who are capable will be denigrated by their peers.
They’ll be called “geeks” because they’ll actually see the value of
studying and later getting a job. I couldn’t wait to get a job when I was
younger. These kids act as though you’re telling them to enter a gas
chamber.

“666” will come and go. We, as a society, will have to deal with a
generation of youth who may not be the devil’s spawn, but they sure do act
like it at times. If there was ever a time to pray for the second
coming, now would be a good time to start.

Friends,

I have some AWFUL news to report, and it requires us to take IMMEDIATE action.

One of the top talk radio stations in this nation, KFBK 1530 Sacramento - yes,
the very same station that launched the Rush Limbaugh Show - has FIRED their
pro-troop talk radio host, Mark Williams, and replaced him with a left-wing,
anti-war radical.

The move is shocking, especially since Williams’ show beat out his competition
in the ratings, and especially since the liberal who is replacing Williams is a
man who has announced his strong support for the tactic of having anti-war
protestors target the funerals of military personnel.

Mark Williams in contrast helped lead, organized and then traveled with the
“Voices of Soldiers” tour with Move America Forward to Iraq.  He won a Mark
Twain Journalism Award from the Associated Press for his incredible live
reports from Iraq.  Williams also helped to launch the “You Don’t Speak for Me,
Cindy” caravan we led across the nation to Crawford, Texas to rally support for
our troops.  Mark Williams has led and organized and promoted countless pro-
troop rallies.  Mark has helped us to send over 15 TONS of coffee and cookies
to our troops.  And there has been NO stronger voice for securing our borders
then Mark Williams.

Mark has ALWAYS been there for our cause, and now we must stand up and speak
out in his defense.  I’ve been notified that military support groups have
started a campaign to call, email and FAX the radio station and their parent
company.  It’s time for all of us to stand side by side with these military
families.

Here’s what we need to do - we need to SPEAK UP.  I need you to send an email,
make a phone call and send a FAX.  Let’s light up the phone lines of KFBK and
their parent company, Clear Channel, and let’s tell them that we won’t sit back
and say nothing as they replace a pro-military talk show hosts with someone
from the Air America crowd.

1) FIRST: Send an email to these people and let them know you are saddened by
the news that Mark Williams has been fired and replaced with an anti-war
liberal.  I’ve also included the email addresses for 2 reporters covering this
issue - include them on the same emails.  We need them to hear our voices!

jeffholden@clearchannel.com
markpmays@clearchannel.com
apeterson@radioandrecords.com
smcmanis@sacbee.com

2) SECOND:  Place a telephone call and politely and calmly state that you are
calling to have them add your name to those who are disappointed with the
decision by KFBK to fire pro-military talk show host, Mark Williams.

The number to call:  (916) 576-2223

We need them to get TENS of THOUSANDS of phone calls.  So, please, if the line
is busy when you call, try back a few minutes later.

3) THIRD:  Please also send a FAX and let the management at KFBK know how
thoroughly displeased you are to see this station switch from being a proud
sponsor of our troops and their mission, and becoming a mouthpiece for an anti-
war, left-wing agenda.

The FAX number is:  (916) 921-5555

*** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** ***

*Please forward this to 5 other people you know who support our troops and
their missions in Iraq and Afghanistan.  Every night the Mark Williams Show was
broadcast over the Internet to units in Iraq and Afghanistan - where Mark had a
lot of admirers.  Many nights, Mark would sign off for the evening by sending
out a message of support - complete with music and voices of Americans
expressing their love for our troops - as a morale boost to all those who were
listening over the Internet and serving in the war for freedom.

These troops have now lost their voice in Sacramento, and they’ve lost a radio
program that they could count on to be there for them when the other media
outlets had them feeling so down and discouraged.

So, please let’s get this information posted on all the military support group
websites.  If you have a pro-troop email list, perhaps you can send this out to
them?

Thank you!

Conservatism’s Role in Social Change
By Thomas E. Brewton

A reader’s comments about the nature of conservatism reveal the largely
inaccurate understanding of historical cause and effect that came out of John
Dewey’s dismissal of history in progressive education.

-------------------
A reader wrote the following comment in response to the post entitled John Dewey: Dracula Still Undead in Full Sunlight.

My intent is not to spotlight the particular comment or the commentator, but to
view the comment as an illustration of the harm done since the 1920s in the
name of progressive education.

Professor John Dewey, the most influential liberal-socialist of the first half
of the 20th century, viewed public education as political conditioning of
students for life in the socialist society that he assumed would replace our
Constitutional form of government.

A big part of Dewey’s progressive education was his view that history is a
“dead” subject that deserves no place in the school curriculum.  Students were
to learn whatever they need to learn through “experiences” of communal life in
class projects.

Dewey’s approach in the 1920s was a milder version of the Soviet education
system that he and his Columbia University Teachers College colleagues regarded
as the ideal model for American education.

Regarding history, Lenin had said to the Commissars of Soviet Education that
the aim of socialist education is to teach children to hate their parents and
their forebears.  The historical slate was to be wiped clean and a fabricated,
new “history” taught to students.  Political opponents of Lenin and Stalin
became non-persons: their photos, names, and all records of their existence
were expunged from books and records.

This is the same process employed since the 1970s by American PC educators who
teach their students to hate the United States by omitting the truly admirable
facts of our founding ear and by selectively presenting only unflattering
information.

This arises from the fiction-as-history of the critical studies, deconstructionist, and other theories aimed at besmirching American history.  As Jack M. Balkin put it on Cornell University’s Legal Information Institute website, “[Deconstructionists] argued that the structures of social meaning are always unstable, indeterminate, impermanent and historically situated, constantly changing over time and accumulating new connotations,” which is to say that liberal-socialist teachers are entitled to make of history whatever they want it to mean to suit their purposes.

“The View has told me what liberalism does to destroy equality, which is pretty
flimsy, but it didnÕt tell me what conservatives do to protect it. The sense I
get is that conservatives deny people from becoming equal. They have in the
past with segregation. Their idea of Òseparate by equalÓ was pure racism and
unequal.

In the view of The View if a person doesnÕt believe in God or the same God or
worships in the same way, they are not equal. Conservatives here are
discriminative and not charitable. Why, if they had their way racism would
still be a major problem in America, like it was in the 50s and 60s. Under
solid conservative rule woman would still be unequal to men. Under solid
conservative rule America would be an apartheid and unequal nation.”

My reply:

Let’s postulate at the outset that Christianity, while not necessarily the same
thing as political conservatism, is the opposite of atheistic, materialistic
liberal-socialism.

First, I’m more a Christian traditionalist than a conservative, that is, I
subscribe to the natural law understandings that Thomas Jefferson said were the
basis for the Declaration and which Alexander Hamilton and James Madison said
were the basis of the Constitution.  Natural law was one of the foundations of
Christianity, explicitly so from the time of Thomas Aquinas in the 1260s.

I have never said, nor even implied, that non-Christians are unequal under the
Constitution or any other legal doctrine.  In fact, in my reply to your first
comment (see the post referenced above), I explicitly stated that all humans
are equally children of God.

I’m not sure why you say that my points about liberalism being antithetical to
individual liberty are flimsy.  Certainly Soviet or German National Socialist
citizens wouldn’t agree that their government limitations on individual liberty
were flimsy.

A few examples: Not until the liberalism of the New Deal did it become a crime
for a farmer to decide for himself what crops to grow for his own family, at a
time when the majority of American citizens were farmers.  Not until the
ascendancy of liberal legalisms was it possible for the political state to
remove all of a citizen’s property rights without compensating him, as the 5th
Amendment requires.  Not until the advent of liberal hate-crime legislation
did it become a crime to express personal beliefs.  Murder or assault have
always been crimes, but a person’s presumed thoughts when engaged in such
crimes were not grounds for additional punishment; John Stuart Mill, the “On
Liberty” icon of liberalism would have been dismayed and astounded.  Not until
the ascendancy of PC education did it become possible for a student to be
deprived of his rights or thrown out of school for expressing views that
disagreed with the views of his teachers or fellow students.

As for racism, that is hardly a product of conservatism.  It has been a feature
of human life from the earliest periods known in history, as was slavery.  Like
it or not, people bred under one culture, as members of a family or tribe, or
inhabitants of a city-state, always look with suspicion, if not resentment,
upon outsiders, and no amount of Pavlovian condition-response indoctrination
has been able to eliminate that innate and universal human characteristic.

It was Dr. Leonard Jeffries, a black professor at New York’s City College and
member of the New York State commission to structure multi-cultural education,
who declared that white “ice people” are inherently savage and racist; that
black “sun people” never commit crimes against others, but are inherently
civilized and kind.  I mention this, not to disparage blacks, but to
demonstrate that antipathy for other races or cultures is definitely not the
exclusive property of conservatives.

Slavery was gradually eliminated in Western Europe under the tutelage of the
Roman Catholic Church.  In the late Empire, productive farm land in most parts
of the Empire was owned by wealthy families as villas (estates) in which all
labor was performed by slaves, who outnumbered free citizens.  When the fall of
the Western Empire left the Church to fill the administrative, as well as
religious functions of the old Empire, the Church compelled villa owners to
eliminate slavery, with the result that former slaves became feudal tenants
with hereditary rights to occupy and farm the land they formerly had tended as
slaves.

The first two nations ever to enact laws forbidding slavery were England, which
in 1833 banned slavery throughout the Empire, and the United States, which
ratified the 13th Amendment in 1865.

In both cases the impetus came from Christian churches.  In England the
motivator was the middle-class members of the Methodist Church, who were also
responsible for pressure on Parliament that produced all of the laws to improve
working conditions, treatment of the poor, the sick, and the insane.  Prime
Minister Gladstone, a devout Christian, was famous for his efforts to provide
rehabilitation and care of prostitutes.

There was no English socialist Labour Party in those days, the Liberal Party
being an advocate of laissez-faire individualism, not unlike our conservatism
of today.

There had been strong opposition to slavery in the Constitutional Convention in
1787, as Madison’s notes attest.  Surprisingly, there were about as many slaves
in the state of New York as in Virginia.  Only the need to gain maximum support
for the new Constitution induced delegates to accept the compromise in the
Constitution’s Article I, Section 9, that permitted Congress to prohibit
importation of slaves after 1808 and, in the meanwhile, to levy taxes on
importation of slaves (which Congress promptly did).

In the United States in the late 1700s, John Jay and Alexander Hamilton, both
traditionalist founders, were leaders in the Manumission Society and both freed
their slaves in the first decades of the United States’ existence, as did
George Washington, another devout Christian.  The first abolition society was
founded in Philadelphia around 1820 by Protestant ministers.  The abolition
movement fomented by Protestant churches led to the civil war and the
Emancipation Proclamation.

None of this came from liberal-socialism, which did not exist in the United
States at that time.

It was again pressure from Protestant churches after the Civil War, not liberal-
socialism, that enfranchised women.  Lucretia Mott, the co-founder of the
Women’s rights movement at Seneca Falls, New York, was herself a Quaker
minister. Many leaders of the suffrage movement were ministers’ wives, and the
movement was actively supported by church ministers. It was their continuous
preaching in favor of enfranchising women, as well as the women’s activism,
that produced the 19th Amendment.

Finally, the civil rights movement in the 1960s came out of Christian churches
(Dr. Martin Luther King was himself a Protestant minister), not out of the
liberal organizations of the Democratic Party.  Dr. King asked people to live
the life that Jesus required of them in the New Testament.  Northern
traditionalists strongly supported him.  The fact that many people opposed the
Civil Rights Acts was not a product of conservatism, but merely a reflection of
human nature and more than 350 years of Southern history, not the least being
resentment against what was perceived to be Yankee hypocrisy.

The inescapable fact is that all of these beneficial changes in society were
first viewed as Christian moral issues and could not have been enacted without
Christian, traditionalist support.

PRAY!

Remember to pray for our Senate leaders Monday and Tuesday as they take up the Marriage debate. The U.S. Senate is expected to vote Tuesday, June 6 on an amendment that would determine the fate of traditional marriage in America.

God intended marriage to be one man and one woman and now activist judges and liberal groups want to throw away God’s design and replace it with a sinful manmade lifestyle called “tolerance” of homosexuality.

Please pray for our leaders in Washington Monday and Tuesday that they will make the right decisions so that we can preserve marriage in the format in which God designed it to be.

Go to www.senate.gov for more info on this. There are already 31 senators including the well known leaders like Rick Santorum, Sam Brownback, and Bill Frist who are co-sponsors of the amendment proposal.

Please contact your senators and let them know where you stand!

Mississippi author and Christian explain the facts about the culture war going on in America from Biblical Christian stand point.

BOOK DESCRIPTION :

There is a growing culture war in today’s society. On one side, people believe in abortion as the right to choose, that the universe is here by accident, and that homosexuality is okay. They believe that Jesus was only a prophet or a good man, but on the other side, the direct opposite beliefs are being made known. In this book, the Mississippi author gives a traditional biblical point of view into what is wrong with the most fought about controversial moral and social issues facing America and the church today.
