The Left's Radical Anti-Christmas Agenda

November 30, 2005

Taking Christ out of Christmas… Do We Really Have to Take it Anymore?

By

Rob Hood

Well I see that the scrooges on the left side of the political spectrum are at it again … taking down Christmas trees, renaming items as “holiday” such as holiday cards, holiday tree, holiday party, holiday gifts, etc. The list just keeps going on.

The only hilarious thing I have found this year is a group of people are sending the ACLU “ Merry Christmas” cards. Now that’s funny, but not as clever as what happened last year when a group of Christian protesters aligned themselves outside the ACLU headquarters and sang Christmas carols to the president of the ACLU. That was a classic. They should do it every year and include other on the list too.

Not only this, but I have seen pictures of aborted fetuses on Christmas cards that read something like, “Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, but this child will never get to experience that. Thank you”. Yes, these cards exist and some are worse and cannot be repeated in this article. Most of these are sent to abortion clinics and Planned Parenthood offices. That’s a little too gruesome for me and I don’t like looking at those pictures, so I’ll just stick with traditional Christmas cards.

The one thing that has stood out in the news ( see link below ) is the story of a family that has a nativity scene in their own front yard. The subdivision community leaders are demanding that the scene be taken down, despite the family’s freedom of speech and freedom of religion. Besides that, it is on personal private property and is not on commercial or government property.  So now we have to take this mess from the left even though the display is on our own property? I should say not.

I say that the family should fight this tooth and nail and not back down regardless of what the local scrooges threaten. Now that the story has aired, the family is gaining national support as they should. I for one, support them.

What is this nation coming to when one is told what they can or cannot have on their own personal private property? That’s a dangerous ideal that leads to socialism. We cannot and must not tolerate these actions and must do everything in our power to keep our rights of freedom of speech and religion.

Some may not like it, but Christmas is not about buying gifts. It is about celebrating the virgin birth of the Lord Jesus Christ. That’s why it is called Christmas.  The atheists of the country try to boycott everything Christian, but that means that they must have a different calendar than everyone else since my calendar reads AD and our time is based on BC and AD. How can someone be atheist and have the same calendar?

The gifts that are given at Christmas are symbolic of the gifts given to baby Jesus by the wise men.  Do the left give gifts? Sure they do. But why? I can’t see their reasoning in giving a gift and calling it a “holiday gift” when the whole scene is symbolic of what happened 2005 years ago.

The politically correct along with groups like the ACLU and Move On just don’t get it. Ramadan comes at a time near Halloween and Columbus Day, and Yom Kippur. Yet, we do not see a “holiday” saying then do we?  What’s the difference? Wouldn’t it be easier to say holidays instead of each individual day and what it is? Why not? That’s what the left has done to Christmas. They tried to ban Christmas by claiming that the reason for “holidays” is that there are many days of importance associated around the time of Christmas. That theory fails to hold up under the example I just gave you.

Every year the war on Christmas ( yes, John Gibson and Sean Hannity was right) gets worse. From banning school plays to banning personal lawn signs, the left clearly has an agenda for eradicating Christmas. Maybe the ghost of Christmas past, present and future has not visited them yet, but I sure hope they do soon. Maybe the scrooges will wake up and see reality for what it is! Until then, I WILL keep saying MERRY CHRSTMAS and no one has the authority to tell me otherwise. I hope you do the same.

A great message !

This is from an Email that I recieved. The author is unknown, but I commend them:

There were 39 combat related killings in Iraq in January.
In the fair city of Detroit there were 35 murders in the
month of January. That’s just one American city,
about as deadly as the entire war-torn country of Iraq.

When some claim that President Bush shouldn’t
have started this war, state the following:

a. FDR led us into World War II.

b. Germany never attacked us; Japan did.
From 1941-1945, 450,000 lives were lost ...
an average of 112,500 per year.

c. Truman finished that war and started one in Korea.
North Korea never attacked us.
From 1950-1953, 55,000 lives were lost ...
an average of 18,334 per year.

d John F. Kennedy started the Vietnam conflict in 1962.
Vietnam never attacked us.

e.  Johnson turned Vietnam into a quagmire.
From 1965-1975, 58,000 lives were lost ...
an average of 5,800 per year.

f. Clinton went to war in Bosnia without UN or French consent.
Bosnia never attacked us.
He was offered Osama bin Laden’s head on a platter three
times by Sudan and did nothing. Osama has attacked us on
multiple occasions.

g. In the years since terrorists attacked us , President Bush
has liberated two countries, crushed the Taliban, crippled
al-Qaida, put nuclear inspectors in Libya, Iran, and North
Korea without firing a shot, and captured a terrorist who
slaughtered 300,000 of his own people.

The Democrats are complaining
about how long the war is taking.
But ..
It took less time to take Iraq than it took Janet Reno
to take the Branch Davidian compound.
That was a 51-day operation.

We’ve been looking for evidence for chemical weapons
in Iraq for less time than it took Hillary Clinton to find
the Rose Law Firm billing records.

It took less time for the 3rd Infantry Division and the
Marines to destroy the Medina Republican Guard
than it took Ted Kennedy to call the police after his
Oldsmobile sank at Chappaquiddick

It took less time to take Iraq than it took
to count the votes in Florida!!!!

Our Commander-In-Chief is doing a GREAT JOB!
The Military morale is high!

The biased media hopes we are too ignorant
to realize the facts

But Wait there’s more!

JOHN GLENN (ON THE SENATE FLOOR)
Mon, 26 Jan 2004 11:13

Some people still don’t understand why military personnel
do what they do for a living. This exchange between
Senators John Glenn and Senator Howard Metzenbaum
is worth reading. Not only is it a pretty impressive
impromptu speech, but it’s also a good example of one
man’s explanation of why men and women in the armed
services do what they do for a living.

This IS a typical, though sad, example of what
some who have never served think of the military.

Senator Metzenbaum (speaking to Senator Glenn):
“How can you run for Senate
when you’ve never held a real job?”

Senator Glenn (D-Ohio):
“I served 23 years in the United States Marine Corps.
I served through two wars. I flew 149 missions.
My plane was hit by anti-aircraft fire on 12 different
occasions. I was in the space program.  It wasn’t my
checkbook, Howard; it was my life on the line. It was
not a nine-to-five job, where I took time off to take the
daily cash receipts to the bank.”

“I ask you to go with me … as I went the other day...
to a veteran’s hospital and look those men
with their mangled bodies .. in the eye, and tell THEM
they didn’t hold a job!

You go with me to the Space Program at NASA
and go, as I have gone, to the widows and Orphans
of Ed White, Gus Grissom and Roger Chaffee...
and you look those kids in the eye and tell them
that their DADS didn’t hold a job.

You go with me on Memorial Day and you stand in
Arlington National Cemetery, where I have more friends
buried than I’d like to remember, and you watch

You stand there, and you think about this nation,
and you tell ME that those people didn’t have a job?

What about you?”

For those who don’t remember ..
During W.W.II, Howard Metzenbaum was an attorney
representing the Communist Party in the USA.

Now he’s a Senator!
If you can read this, thank a teacher.
If you are reading it in English thank a Veteran.

Some Good old fashioned common sense!

I am not particularly a fan of Andy Rooney or of CBS for that matter, but not too long ago he made some comments that was unlike anything you would normally hear coming from the very liberal crew at CBS. I agree with as a conservative. Here are the comments he made one night on 60 Minutes:

I don’t think being a minority makes you a victim of anything except
numbers. The only things I can think of that are truly discriminatory are
things like the United Negro College Fund, Jet Magazine, Black Entertainment
Television, and Miss Black America. Try to have things like the United
Caucasian College Fund, Cloud Magazine, White Entertainment Television, or
Miss White America; and see what happens...Jesse Jackson will be knocking
down your door.

Guns do not make you a killer. I think killing makes you a killer. You can
kill someone with a baseball bat or a car, but no one is trying to ban you
from driving to the ball game.

I believe they are called the Boy Scouts for a reason, that is why there are
no girls allowed. Girls belong in the Girl Scouts! ARE YOU LISTENING MARTHA
BURKE?

I think that if you feel homosexuality is wrong, it is not a phobia, it is
an opinion.

I have the right “NOT” to be tolerant of others because they are different,
weird, or tick me off.

When 70% of the people who get arrested are black, in cities where 70% of
the population is black, that is not racial profiling, it is the Law of
Probability.

I believe that if you are selling me a milkshake, a pack of cigarettes, a
newspaper or a hotel room, you must do it in English! As a matter of fact,
if you want to be an American citizen, you should have to speak English!

My father and grandfather didn’t die in vain so you can leave the countries
you were born in to come over and disrespect ours.

I think the police should have every right to shoot your sorry a** if you
threaten them after they tell you to stop. If you can’t understand the word
“freeze” or “stop” in English, see the above lines.

I don’t think just because you were not born in this country, you are
qualified for any special loan programs, government sponsored bank loans or
tax breaks, etc., so you can open a hotel, coffee shop, trinket store, or
any other business.

We did not go to the aid of certain foreign countries and risk our lives in
wars to defend their freedoms, so that decades later they could come over
here and tell us our constitution is a living document; and open to their
interpretations.

I don’t hate the rich. I don’t pity the poor.

I know pro wrestling is fake, but so are movies and television. That doesn’t
stop you from watching them.

I think Bill Gates has every right to keep every penny he made and continue
to make more. If it ticks you off, go and invent the next operating system
that’s better, and put your name on the building.

It doesn’t take a whole village to raise a child right, but it does take a
parent to stand up to the kid; and smack their little behinds when
necessary, and say “NO!”

I think tattoos and piercing are fine if you want them, but please don’t
pretend they are a political statement. And, please, stay home until that
new lip ring heals. I don’t want to look at your ugly infected mouth as you
serve me French fries!

I am sick of “Political Correctness.” I know a lot of black people, and not
a single one of them was born in Africa; so how can they be
“African-Americans”? Besides, Africa is a continent. I don’t go around
saying I am a European-American because my great, great, great, great,
great, great grandfather was from Europe. I am proud to be from America and
nowhere else.

And if you don’t like my point of view, tough...

DON’T PASS IT ON

Something to be Thankful for!

Thanksgiving … We Have Much To Be Thankful For

By

Rob Hood

It has been many year since the first thanksgiving when Pilgrims and Indians shared a meal together and gave thanks. The day was set aside to give thanks for blessings received throughout the year.  It wasn’t until November 26, 1789 that President George Washington issued a proclamation for a day of thanks.

There is a rich history of our country since that first thanksgiving day. Since that time, we gained our independence from England and became a country. We fought a revolutionary war that won us this independence, a civil war that almost split the country in half, two major world wars, a war in Vietnam, the first gulf war, and now the war on terror.

The country has seen its fair share of conflict both inside and outside the country. It has endured these wars as well as civil disputes such as the civil rights movement and women’s rights movement. Through all of this conflict we have seen good come about and all have something to be thankful for. African Americans gained their rights to equality from the civil rights movement as did women from the women’s rights movement.

We can be thankful for this and a lot of other things. I personally am thankful for many things that I am sure many of you will agree with. I am thankful for life itself. Everyday that we wake up alive, we can be thankful. I am thankful for freedom of speech and freedom in general. When this country was formed we set the example that would lead others to democracy and in that everyone can be thankful.

I am thankful that I live in a country where we elect our leaders and not have to endure the hardships that accompany communism and dictatorship. I am glad to be a part of a free society in which we can speak freely and share with others our thoughts. Not many other countries get that privilege.

I am personally thankful for God for sending us his only Son who died for mankind’s sins so that we may inherit eternal life. In that, there is a freedom that one has to be part of to truly understand. I realize as I write this article that not everyone reading it will agree or believe in Jesus of God for that matter, but this statement is one that I had to share to adequately describe my true thanks on this day.

We all have something to be thankful for whether it be our friends and family to our health and well being, to something as simple as good home cooked meal.  Today is the day we give thanks. Let us remember how blessed we really are to live in this country of freedom and to live in a society that take the time to reflect on the past and remember our heritage, history, and many blessings.

Happy Thanksgiving!

It has Begun!

The war on Christmas has officially begun. Boston just declared that the 34 year old tradition of getting a Christmas tree for city hall will be different this year. This year City Hall will be brainwashed into political correctness. This year they will have a “Holiday Tree”.

An Indian Proverb

One evening, an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people. He said, “My son, the battle is between two wolves which live inside all of us. One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, callousness, and ego. The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.” The young boy thought about this for a minute, and then asked his grandfather: But Grampa--which wolf wins?” The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”

Still Trusting God!

November 22, 2005

In ___ We Trust?

By

Rob Hood

It has not been all that long since the vowed atheist Micheal Newdow issued a lawsuit to take the phrase “Under God” out of the Pledge of Allegiance. His argument is that as an atheist this is discriminatory because he and his daughter has to say the words “Under God” even though they may not believe in God.

I fail to really see his point. I know that this phrase has only been around for about fifty or so years, but the leaders who adopted this phrase perhaps felt it best described our country based upon its origins and founding principles.  I cannot understand his principle of having it removed. He does not have to say it. No one is forcing him to repeat these words. The Pledge itself is optional anyway. It’s a show of loyalty and patriotism.  It’s not a mandatory act.

Now, since his allies at the very liberal Ninth Circuit court of Appeals have failed to pass this legislation ( yes, they do try to legislate from the bench) he is now suing to have “In God We Trust” removed from all U.S. currency. I am not that surprised and figured it would happen someday.

If this is removed, then what will replace this motto? In ACLU we trust? In Supreme Court we trust? In the United nations we trust? They had might as well replace it with something like this. After all, we want it to be truthful.  I once told a critic that if the motto was removed from our currency that every Christian in America should have the words “In God We STILL Trust” printed on their personal checks in big ,red, bold print just to show how loyal we are to our principles, traditions, and faith.

This nation was founded on Godly principles and on the fact there is a Supreme Creator who created us all. Read the Constitution and count how many times God is mentioned as Creator, Supreme, or some other means.  That should tell us something about those who founded it and what they had in mind.

The whole separation of church and state clause has been taken way out of context by those who despise the word God.  The original clause actually originated from a letter written by Thomas Jefferson to the Danbury Baptists. Go ahead and do the research and see if I’m right. I want you to see it for yourself. The separation clause simply means that one religion cannot be endorsed by the government as THE ruling religion of the country. It was never meant to be taken out of context and say that elected officials cannot vote on issues based on their faith or share their faith.

This is an issue that may not ever go away, but for those who do believe in a Creator who is God and who alone is responsible for the very being of the entire universe, I stand with you. If you would like to help keep “In God We Trust” as our national motto, then I recommend uniting with groups like the American Center for Law & Justice at www.aclj.org . They are fighting against this ruling and it is up to you and I to help.

Every Vote Counts

This is a message from Justin Darr, a fellow Move Off Member:

*Every Vote Must Count, Unless the Liberals Win.*

Every have that feeling there is something missing, but you cannot quite
remember what it is? The weather is getting colder; did I forget to
check my washer fluid? No. Check the tire pressure? No, it is fine. Any
anniversary, birthdays, or doctor appointments I might have missed? No,
all are up to date. Oh, now I remember, we just had an election cycle
and I am still waiting to hear the hysterical screams of the left
claiming that voters were disenfranchised by the cruel and heartless
Republicans.

So where is it? Where are the wild conspiracy theories? Are you trying
to tell me the oil industry was not purposely inflating the price of gas
to make it harder to reach the polls? Every single voter in the United
States knew exactly where their poll site was located and its hours of
operation? Every poll opened and closed on time with adequate staffing,
no chads where found to be hanging, every voter clearly understood the
ballots and filled them out in an unambiguous manner? And, what about
absentee and provisional ballots? Are you actually trying to say that
the Republicans let a chance to thwart the will of the people through
fraud and intimidation slip by?

It must be so, because for the first time in several years the post
election news coverage has not been dominated by accusations of voter
disenfranchisement. The media and Internet are still, and probably
always will be abuzz about the 2000 and 2004 elections, but there is
almost nothing regarding the 2005. How could this be? Maybe electronic
voting machine manufacturers should start taking out some ads.

There were, of course, problems with some elections and polling places
around the country. Just a quick survey of the two most hotly contested
elections in New Jersey, and Virginia, shows that there were several
serious issues with the 2005 election.

For example, election officials in Hudson Country, New Jersey, were
hand-counting votes late into the night after the electronic voting
machines malfunctioned, making it impossible for them to be
electronically counted. In Spotsylvania, Virginia, election officials,
also, had to hand count votes due to a faulty paper ballot reader that
kept rejecting valid ballots. In Morris County, New Jersey, a bilingual
poll worker was ordered not to speak Spanish to voters if they had a
question, even if they did not speak English. In Richmond, Virginia, a
publicly funded advocacy group for the disabled, The Virginia Office for
Protection and Advocacy, was barred from inspecting polling sites to
ensure they were handicapped accessible and in compliance with the 2002
Help America Vote Act. And, in Edison County, New Jersey, the Department
of Justice actually had to monitor the elections due to repeated
violations of the Voting Rights Act of 1965. So, despite the complete
lack of attention and news coverage, the last election has many of the
same issues as both the 2000 and 2004 elections.

What is the difference this time? The liberals actually won an election,
for a change, for one. So what cares if all the votes where counted. The
left certainly does not.

The complete absence of the left?s prepackaged ?outrage? regarding
allegations of voter disenfranchisement verifies what many already know.
The left does not care about voters? rights, or accuracy in poll
tallies, only winning. All the hysteria of the past few years is nothing
but a disingenuous propaganda tool to try to cover up the left?s
inability to appeal to mainstream voters and cast unfair dispersions on
freely elected officials.

Do not worry. All the personal attacks, libelous smears, and insane
accusations are still there. They have just been tucked away until the
next time a Republican wins an election, and then you will most
certainly get to enjoy them again.

If you are a poor, disabled, or minority voter, what has made your vote
this year any different than in the previous elections? Why is it not
just as important to ensure your vote was counted as it was a year ago?
The reason is plain. Your vote is taken for granted. You are seen as
nothing but a vote factory, coming out every year to unthinkingly pull
the save lever time and time again, then it is back to the box with you
to stay quite and out of site until the next election cycle. If you
happen to decide to vote for someone other than a Democrat, your vote is
looked upon as a ?mistake? made by someone too stupid to read the ballot
or follow directions, that must be corrected if the left loses. And,
completely ignored if they win.

It is said one of the most accurate ways to judge a person?s character
is by how they deal with victory and defeat. When the Republicans lost
the latest election, they accepted the truth, that less than a third of
the electorate disagreed with them, congratulated the winners and vowed
to fight again another day. When Democrats lose, they come unhinged,
accusing the victors of cheating and deceit. It is quite clear that the
left has no character or integrity, just a massive lust for power.

The following is from Grant Swank, a fellow Move Off Network Member:

Porno Pushers Slush Spam to Dirt-Fill Children

J. Grant Swank, Jr.  November 19 05

They’re persistent. So the Free Speech Coalition is filing suit in federal district court, Salt Lake City, to challenge the constitutionality and legality of the anti-spam law, according to Matthew Prince, CEO of Unspam (www.unspam.com). Unspam is the firm that operates Utah’s Child Protection Registry.

With this recent act on the part of Free Speech Coalition, Unspam has gone into immediate action.

Porno pushers will go to any lengths by which to debauch the next generation. Therefore, they use the Internet to connect obscenities especially with boys and girls, teens and young adults.

Consequently, Prince continues his move on behalf of anti-spam technologies to shield youngsters. Prince, having addressed the UN on this crucial matter, is a well-respected speaker at legislative conferences and other civic conclaves.

Unspam was founded in 2001 to enforce accountability on the part of cyberspace communication networks. “We help governments author, implement, and enforce effective laws to control unwanted and harmful electronic messages. Founded by attorneys and computer scientists united behind this common cause, Unspam’s approach to solving the problems of inappropriate messages takes into account both the legal and technological aspects of the problem.

“We have helped craft the next generation of legislation in this area, recognizing the mistakes that have been made in the past, and correcting new laws to finally bring the problem of unwanted and inappropriate electronic messages under control,” states Prince.

According to the Child Protection Registry Media Fact Sheet, the percentage of visitors to porno web sites in 2002 under the age of 18 was 16%. Those under 5 years of age who were using the Internet in 2003 was 25%. Those under 9 years of age using the Internet in 2003 was 50%. The percentage of children in 2003 who received inappropriate email on a daily basis was 80%.

The percentage of parents in 2003 who say they are concerned about their children receiving inappropriate email was 87%. The percentage of parents in 2003 who believe spammers should face enhanced penalties for sending inappropriate content to children was 93%. The percentage of parents in 2003 who believe children should receive extra protection under any anti-spam law was 94%. The percentage of parents in 2003 who believe they should have the ability to block their children’s email addresses from receiving pornographic content was 96%.

The estimated revenue from pornographic content in the United States sent to mobile phones by 2006 was $791 million. The estimated revenue from mobile gambling services in the United States sent to mobile phones by 2006 was $5.7 billion.

The percentage of teen-aged children who use Instant Messaging programs in 2003 was 74%. The percentage of adults who use Instant Messaging programs in 2003 was 44%.

The number of unsolicited commercial instant messages (SPIMs) sent in 2003 was 1 billion.

The percentage of SPIM messages in 2003 peddling pornography was 70%. The percentage of school-aged instant message users say they “often” or “sometimes” receive messages from people they’ve never met in real life was 52%.

According to US Newswire, “The alleged purpose of Utah’s Child Protection Registry Act (CPR Act; Utah Code Ann. Sec. 13-29-101) is to protect minors from receiving email messages that promote products or services that cannot be lawfully sold to them and/or contain material that is ‘harmful to minors,’ as defined by Utah (Utah Code Ann. Sec. 76-10-1202(4)).

“It purports to do this by establishing a ‘Do Not Email’ registry containing email addresses that belong to, or can be accessed by, Utah minors, and by criminalizing the sending of prohibited email to any email address listed in the registry for more than 30 days. It also provides criminal, administrative and civil enforcement mechanisms, and requires email marketers to ‘scrub’ their lists against the registry for a per-scrub fee of $0.005.

Matthew Prince, a leading spokesperson in this anti-cyberspace-porno field, has formulated laws related to the technology of squashing unwanted and inappropriate messages, especially to youth. Being the co-founder and present CEO of Unspam, he has set in place a business and government consulting business specializing in how to create effective legislation in a digital world.

Prince is also a professor of law at John Marshall Law School. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Michigan chapter of Justice for Children.

He has delivered speeches to the International Telecommunications Union, a division of the UN, concerning cross-border attempts to further the porno spread. He has also testified to the United States Federal Trade Commission on the CAN-SPAM Act, working alongside members of the British House of Commons on messaging control initiatives and assisting in drafting various laws at the state level. These legislative moves are all geared to protect children and adults from electronic messages that these individuals do not want to receive.

Prince is a frequent speaker at email and security conclaves, such, for example, being the yearly MIT Spam Conference, the RSA cybersecurity symposium, the Institute for Spam and Internet Public Police Conference, and Microsoft’s CEAS Event.

Prince, an attorney, has earned his JD from the University of Chicago. Visit www.unspam.com for more data.

To communicate your position against cyberspace porno to children, contact Tom Hymes of Free Speech Coalition at 310-384-6298 or pr@freespeechcoalition.com ; Web: http://www.freespeechcoalition.com Free Speech Coalition is the trade organization of the adult entertainment industry.

Conservative Learing

What Conservatives Learned from Miers

By Nathan Tabor

A great deal of ink has been spilled on many a page analyzing the Harriet
Miers nomination debacle.  Liberal pundits quickly called it the ³crack up²
of the conservative movement; Rush Limbaugh corrected the Left by explaining
that this was instead a ³crack down,² and still others called the whole
situation ³inevitable.² And while pundits from the left and the right will
concede this is a victory for conservatives, they also agree that the extent
of the victory remains unclear.

But while much has been made of the actual fight, it is usually painted in
terms of regret that it came to this point and seemingly with little thought
to how this momentum might be harnessed to ensure conservative victories in
the future.  Some conservative columnists have even lamented that Miers¹ nod
publicly exposed a growing list of reasons conservatives are unhappy with
the current administration.  And who says that that is a bad thing?

On the face of things, the scenario surrounding Miers seems pretty straight
forward and has a limited scope: President Bush went to market to spend his
³political capital² on this nomination.  When he got to the register he
flashed his Stealth Express Card, but was promptly told that this card was
not honored at this location and that he had overdrawn on his other credit
accounts.  He had no choice but to put Miers back on her shelf and begin
paying down his debt to conservatives.

But I believe that there is much more conservatives can gain from this
experience besides simply dodging another bullet.  To properly apply this
new found knowledge we must first recognize how we got here, which begins
with taking a moment to realize how we won: by unwaveringly standing on
principle without apology or compromise, clearly articulating a message that
second-best was not good enough and by rejecting the modern Republican
Party¹s cult of personality for a return to integrity.

This is important to realize because it is not a hard game plan to
articulate or follow.  In fact, it worked so well that we witnessed for the
first time in a very long while a large swath of the conservative
movement‹neo-cons, paleo-cons, social and fiscal conservatives,
alike‹standing shoulder-to-shoulder to get the train back on its track.

This is unquestionably a good thing and not a single conservative should
feel bad that it happened.  Especially when you consider that like the
Republican Revolution of Œ94, it was social conservatives conducting this
ride on the rails.

And it is this realization that brings us to our first challenge:
maintaining the eternal vigilance needed to prevent future derailments.  In
1994, conservatives gave Republicans charge of the US House and Senate for
the first time in 40 years based upon the promise of limited government,
elimination of government waste and unconstitutional programs, elimination
of activist courts‹especially among the Supremes and a return to the
traditional American values that first made our country great.

This was great on paper and we even saw some early successes while we were
keeping watch.  But 11 years later, much of the contract with America
remains unfulfilled.  The movement made the mistake of believing that we
could trust our elected officials to do it on their own without our help and
supervision.  That¹s not to say we were wrong to offer that trust or that
our elected officials are evil men who don¹t deserve our trust, but it does
belie how our form of government is supposed to operate.

We are a Constitutional Republic, where we the people are the sovereigns and
the elected officials serve at our pleasure.  Put another way, we are the
CEO¹s and they are the management team.  That¹s why the reaction to Miers by
conservatives was a good thing.  We reassumed our rightful roles as the head
of the company and reigned in a management team that had taken far too much
leeway.  If there is a downside, it is that we acted as absentee owners for
too long.

To that end, we should actually thank the Bush administration for giving us
this ³teaching moment,² because it precipitated a long overdue reckoning
that has returned players back to their proper roles.  But Miers¹ withdrawal
is only half the victory.

It is our job to make sure that this hope becomes a reality. Propelling the
conservative agenda is not something that can be entrusted to ³others;² this
goes against the very nature of conservatism, which is based upon
self-responsibility. That is not to say we can or should do it alone.  But
as Ronald Reagan repeatedly demonstrated and this affair has reminded us:
true leadership is having the courage to speak the truth, to lead by example
and seek what is in the best interest of our country no matter what the
polls say, what ³conventional wisdom² advises and whether or not the
³inside-the-beltway² crowd will respect us in the morning.

In the end, the Miers ³conflict² has helped to better prepare us for making
the conservative agenda prosper in the future.  We know that our game
plan‹based on principle, integrity and objective truth‹will work.  And we
now recognize that the ultimate responsibility for enacting this strategy
rests upon our shoulders.  Each and every one of us, not ³somebody else.²
Which leaves us with the final question that needs to be answered if we are
truly to succeed: are we willing to rise to this challenge?

The Radical Agenda?

November 15, 2005

What Does it all Mean ? The Bush Haters Are At It Again.

By Rob Hood

I keep hearing things happening in our nation that has me puzzled. The number one thing that I hear as soon as I hear or see a news report on TV is that President Bush is not doing well in the polls.  My question is, What exactly do the polls mean? Well, I can honestly say that I do not know what they mean completely. I do know this though. Before the 2004 Presidential election, it was said by CBS news that poll numbers were very close between President Bush and Presidential Nominee John Kerry. After the election, we can see that the polls were not only wrong, but were completely off base. It was not even close.

In that sense, the polls meant nothing. Still today, I believe the polls are wrong. Most of the polls taken are being participated in by people who were either borderline for Bush or against him to start with. The actual data that I heard this morning was that if the polls are accurate, then over 80 % of Republicans ( mostly conservative ) still support the President and the War in Iraq.

Go down South into Mississippi, Alabama, Texas, Tennessee, and the other southern states and start asking people if they still support Bush. I will guarantee you that the majority still does. The conservatives as well as the conservative Evangelical Christians who voted for Bush in 2000 and again in 2004 still support the president and if he were able to run for a third term they would more than likely support him again.

Long ago, the South was dominated by Democrats. So what changed? Nothing changed. Yesterday’s democrats are today’s Republicans. What I am trying to say is that the South is not called the Bible Belt for nothing. When god fearing Democrats ( yes there used to be some ) started taking sides with groups like the ACLU, Planned Parenthood, MoveOn.org, and other groups with policies that mimic the sexual freedom themes of the 1960s era of moral decline, people started turning to other leaders.

With all of that said, it was not the people that changed. It was the leaders. The people still hold moral family values very strongly in the South and they will continue to support leaders who uphold their values of the pro-life stance, anti-terrorism stance, and pro-individual stance, not matter what their political party is. If the democrats would not have changed their policies, then they would still hold the majority in the South and most anywhere else you will find true conservatives and Christians. At one time, I heard someone being asked why they changed from Democrat to Republican. The reply was that they never changed what they believed in, it was the Democrat Party that changed.

This is the same way that I am. I will support any candidate who is pro-life, pro-constitution, stands strong against terrorism no matter where it originates from, stands firm on the moral cultural beliefs that makes up the traditional family and the church, and someone who believes in personal responsibility.  Thank God we have a President who is all of that and more!

The more I hear about liberals attacking the president about pre-war intelligence the sicker it makes me. They all agreed that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction long before this. Now even Senator Rockefeller has been questioned about his intentions when he visited Syria 15 months before the war and actually warned them that there might be a future war in Iraq.

It stands to reason that a handful of CIA members may even be in on trying to get the president out of the white House too. Joseph Wilson is not exactly the most believable person in the world you know. He should be investigated too. Let’s not leave out anything!

Not only all of this but , there is still evidence that the weapons that Saddam had were either buried or moved into Syria before the war. Like I said before, they had 15 months to do it. In the first Gulf War, Saddam had virtually his whole air force buried in Iran. I know that Iraq, Iran, and Syria have never really gotten along as friends, but what about when an American force becomes present? Enemies sometimes unite to defeat stronger enemies. Why not? Three Arab Muslim countries being attacked by Americans? What would keep them from helping each other? We haven’t found weapons of mass destruction because we have not looked in Syria and Iran! It’s as simple as that, but trying to tell this to Washington Democrats is like trying to spread peanut butter on a piece of bread in the heart of frozen Antarctica. It’s impossible!

While the political power grab blame game still continues in Washington, this only gives the terrorists humor and a reason to unite further. Their resolve is actually stronger than out political arguments. While we are here arguing, they are laughing at us because we don’t know what to do. In other words, the liberals are actually causing the terrorists to win the war and the terrorists know. I have to give them a little credit. They are very smart. They know how to play politics very good and know how to turn us against each other here in America. That’s exactly what has happened. The terrorists listen to our news media and relay the messages that some are against the war and then they attack harder to increase even more American opposition towards the Commander in Chief. It’s a well devised scheme that is seemingly working to their advantage. If we are losing the war in Iraq like the mainstream media claims, then it is because they are actually part of the problem.  They are aiding the Iraqi terrorists by opposing the war on terror.  The terrorists have it made! They actually have American liberals helping them now, whether the liberals know it or not. They are doing much more damage than good. By the way, a question arose on a talk show that I listen to that is interesting. Liberals keep wondering why we say that the media is biased. Here is the question: Why does the mainstream media tell us the body count of U.S. soldiers, but never the body count of terrorists we killed? Apparently for every three soldiers killed, we kill or capture about fifty terrorists. Who’s winning? I’ll let you be the judge of that!

The terrorists have attacked us and turned out own free people against us. The battle is already lost if we do not support this war, the president, and our troops. We must win to preserve peace! We must win to preserve freedom, and we must win to preserve AMERICA - the one nation this is still UNDER GOD!

The Christmas Spirit ... Here we go again

November 10, 2005

The Holidization of a Free Nation

By

Rob Hood

Well, here we go again. The ACLU is geared up and ready to slur the Name of Christ again this year. Christmas is only a short time away and yet, this special time of year that about 96 % of America ( yes, that’s an accurate figure ) celebrates is the most controversial of all times to be picked on by the liberal agenda to re-label it as something without a name.

It is now Merry Christmas anymore. It’s Happy Holidays. Liberals have kept on until they have literally brainwashed corporate America into buying into the popular slogans of a secular and insecure portion of the nation.  I don’t know who started this mess, but wish that they would make at least be told to have some respect and dignity.

Year after year, Christmas is attacked and every time it gets worse. Last year the liberal society were sulled up about Wal-Mart letting the Salvation Army take donations in from of their stores. How many liberals did you see complain when the Salvation Army was handing out food, water, shelter, and clothing for the victims of Hurricane Katrina? I’m afraid it’s a different story then huh? You see, the liberals can take away something and label it a grand name to destroy its purpose until they need it and then it’s okay to support it.  How silly!

This year a group of Catholics are trying to boycott Wal-mart and hope that everyone else catches on and does the same. The thing about this is that it simply will not work. I’m all for the boycott in this case, but I probably will not participate because I know that Wal-Mart is too large of a monopoly to actually care about a handful of protesters. Boycotts seldom work unless it has millions of unapologetic supporters who are absolutely 100 % devoted to the cause.

Since boycotts will not work, there are other things that we can do though.  We do not have to support charities that endorse these radical ideals. We do not have to listen to their politically correct statements and we do not have to obey the ACLU and their judicial allies. Instead every time a court rules UNDER GOD out of a pledge, we say it anyway. Whenever they decide to take IN GOD WE TRUST off of our currency, we have it printed on our checks, and every time we hear HAPPY HOLIDAYS, we should firmly reply by saying MERRY CHRISTMAS!  We can send CHRISTMAS cards to those who print Holidays on their business doors. We send Christmas cards to the ACLU and Planned Parenthood. We send Christmas cards to the mainstream media that only encourage these activities.

You see there are more things that we can do to show that we will NOT take this anymore. We can absolutely defy these things and go about the normal business that has been around for the last several decades. We can say THANKS at Thanksgiving.

What gets me is the ACLU trying to sue someone over saying IN THE NAME OF JESUS WE PRAY, at a Thanksgiving banquet. If the ACLU and their allies would read their history books they might learn that the Pilgrims said thanks to God. What do they think Thanksgiving is?  That’s just ridiculous!

Rest assured this whole thing will get blown way out of proportion again this year like it is every year. Thank God for the 800 plus lawyers that have been training this summer to challenge the ACLU this Christmas Season. The Alliance Defense Fund ( which I personally endorse ) has trained lawyers to do just this. They have declared a war on political correctness and are determined to hold up personal freedom of speech and religion in the public square.  This year will be no different. Actually it has already begun. The fight has already started. Whose side are you on? Jesus or the ACLU ?  You can only serve one on December 25, so choose wisely.

Candy

November 8, 2005

The Great Candy Ordeal. How Honest Are you?

By Rob Hood

What has the world come to when something as simple and invaluable as a candy bar has to be under lock and key and held secret for its own protection against would be “candy snatchers” ?  This a question that I asked myself today after an incident at work.

It was 12:00 and the buzzer had just sounded for lunch. The day had gone as always. Nothing new. Nothing overly exciting, just the same old thing. The great candy ordeal began after I had finished eating my lunch.  I had in my mind a candy bar from the vending machine in the room next door.

I approached the machine with money in hand and after inserting my $0.60 made my selection and it was then that it all started. I am not a gambling man, but do declare that I hit the jackpot. Not only did I receive the selected candy that I paid for, but the whole entire rack inside the machine fell containing about six more candy bars.

After contemplating this, I felt that perhaps this machine, if not all vending machines, had a mind of its own. This was not the first time this machine has given away items.  Not thinking a lot about the incident, I simply grabbed the rack of candy that had fell and placed them on my supervisor’s desk. He was not there at the time.

I went back to my regular lunch area and finished my candy and left the whole innocent accident behind me … or so I thought.  I went by my supervisor’s desk to see if he was there yet ( he was in the building, just not at his desk ) because he would probably like an explanation of where this candy come from. It was apparent that he was not the only one interested in this subject.

Little did I know that being involved in an incident as invaluable as this, that I would become a victim of political correctness derived by secular immorality and dishonesty. There were several people huddled around near this area eating their lunch. I was interrogated as to the origins of this six string line of candy bars.

I made my explanation as to what happened and was asked the question : “Why didn’t you just give the candy to me so that I could eat it and leave the machine empty?” I replied that the person did not pay for the candy and that would be dishonest. I did not pay for it so it was not mine to give away in the first place.

Then came the politically correct liberal question that was asked. Hold you breath and try not to panic or laugh to loud because it will be the dumbest question ever asked since the dawn of mankind. The question and discussion that followed is this : “ What is it called when the machine takes your money and does not give you anything back?” This was what I was asked. I replied that it was just a machine and maybe the word that the person was looking for was stealing, but I did not give them the honor or privilege of getting that answer.

The question itself was not that dumb, but the logic that was held behind it was first class liberal. It implied that the vending machine was actually responsible for the loss of money and could be justified by stealing candy back from the machine. This is getting silly I know, but it has to be said just to show what kind of people are out there in the world. Their logic of thinking amazes me. More than that, it completely baffles me. I came back with the reply that said “ Okay, the next time the machine takes your money let me know. I’ll call the Police and have it arrested and you can get your money back while it sits in jail”.

Of course then I had to get away because three more people that were not even in the discussion to start with began to interfere. I was attacked verbally by a barrage of silly and ridiculous and seemingly well rehearsed lines from most of the people that though that they should get a candy bar out of the deal for interfering.

I finally gave up and went back to my seat. I was outnumbered. One conservative and six liberals is not exactly a fair group to be discussing issues this complicated.  My supervisor finally saved the day and rescued the candy from the candy snatchers grasp and returned them safely to their destination in the vending machine.

Even in events like this liberals will twist your thoughts, ideas, actions, and words around to make their point. It didn’t work this time and most left mad and sulked like a bullfrog without water.  In the end I feel that I done the right thing. It was never really about candy. It was the principle of the matter.

I was taught as most of you probably were at an early age to never take anything that does not belong to you. I guess some never learned that principle.  Stealing is stealing, period. It doesn’t matter if it is one penny or one million dollars, it is the same thing.  Did I do the right thing? Let me know. I would love to hear from readers on this one.

RED FRIDAY

RED FRIDAYS ----- Very soon, you will see a great many people wearing Red every Friday. The reason? Americans who support our troops used to be called the “silent majority”.  We are no longer silent, and are voicing our love for God, country and home in record breaking numbers. We are not organized, boisterous or over-bearing. We get no liberal media coverage on TV, to reflect our message or our opinions.
>
>
>
> Many Americans, like you, me and all our friends, simply want to recognize that the vast majority of America supports our troops. Our idea of showing solidarity and support for our troops with dignity and respect starts this Friday -and continues each and every Friday until the troops all come home, sending a deafening message that.. Every red-blooded American who supports our men and women afar, will wear something red.
>
>
>
> By word of mouth, press, TV—let’s make the United States on every Friday a sea of red much like a homecoming football game in the bleachers. I hope every one of us who loves this country will share this with acquaintances, co-workers, friends, and family. It will not be long before the USA is covered in RED and it will let our troops know the once “silent” majority is on their side more than ever, certainly more re than the media lets on.
>
> The first thing a soldier says when asked “What can we do to make things better for you?” is...We need your support and your prayers. Let’s get the word out and lead with class and dignity, by example; and wear some thing red every Friday.
>
> WE LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE FREE, ONLY BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE.
>
> THEIR BLOOD RUNS RED---- SO WEAR RED! --- MAY GOD HELP AMERICA TO BECOME ONE NATION, UNDER GOD

Embryonic stem cell research is scary

Frankensteinian Republicans

by

Nathan Tabor

Whether it¹s delivered with flashlight pointed skyward below the chin as all
are gathered around an open fire, or, as Halloween fades, it comes in the
form of the latest horror movie or Charlie Brown TV special, most everyone
enjoys a scary story.

For the most part, people like these stories because it enlivens their
imagination and thrills their spirit.  People also enjoy these stories
because they know‹no matter how realistic they may appear‹they are fantasy,
make-believe.  In movie making they call it ³willing suspension of
disbelief.²

I am no different, but there is a story that deeply frightens me because it
is true story.  This is a scenario worthy of Dr. Frankenstein himself; one
that not only defies the mores of science and medicine, but one that evokes
nightmarish memories of a brutality and disregard for humanity that forever
changed our world.

And what makes it worse is it is not a situation where some random, lone,
mad-scientist is masterminding a diabolical threat to humanity or the work
of a delusional dictator bent on world domination.

No, sadly, this is an effort that enjoys the support‹to one degree or
another‹of the President of the United States, the Majority Leader of the
United States Senate, and many of our country¹s leading policy and opinion
makers.

I am talking about embryonic stem cell research (ESCR). Before I can go any
further, it is important to define the terms and set the parameters of this
discussion.

Now I¹m not a doctor, but you don¹t need to be to understand the difference
between success and failure, and between right and wrong.  Then again, I¹m
not an astronaut, but I know that the world is round and spins on an axis.
And I also know that I do not need to understand the finer differences
between an ovum and a zygote, or between pluripotent and totipotent cells to
know that embryonic stem cell research is wrong.

The term ³stem cell research² does not accurately define or differentiate
what we are about to discuss.  If you listen to many in the mainstream media
and the political partisans who favor ESCR there is just stem cell research,
and you either support it all or you support none of it.

This is the first important fact to understand: there are many sources for
stem cell research.  Some are morally licit and have proven successful;
others are wholly immoral and have not yielded a single positive result or
treatment.

Stem cell research can be broken down into two categories: embryonic and
non-embryonic, often referred to as adult stem cell research.

As of the writing of this column, scientists have not developed a single
successful treatment involving embryonic stem cell research‹that¹s zero,
zilch, nada, none, for those keeping count.

Conversely, research involving non-embryonic stem cells has been used to
develop over 65 successful medical protocols that have healed hundreds upon
hundreds of people.  The sources for non-embryonic stem cells include bone
marrow, fat cells, umbilical cord blood, adult blood, olfactory nerve
endings and skin cells.

To perform ESCR, stem cells are removed from a living human embryo and that
process takes the life of this child.  None of the protocols using
non-embryonic stem cells harms a single human being and has yielded amazing
success.

Despite these compelling facts, George W. Bush opened Pandora¹s Box by
becoming the first president to grant federal funding of ESCR in 2001.
Four short years later, Sen. Bill Frist (R-Tenn.)‹a medical doctor who
should know better‹is publicly backing a bill that would expand the current
funding level and allotment of embryonic stem cell lines that can be used.

Proponents of ESCR will speak of the untapped potential, the need for more
money and research, and tell us that we just don¹t understand the science
well enough to know that we should support it.

But these arguments are nothing more than distractions from the real facts
that need to be understood in this debate.  One only needs to consult your
average public school biology book or human embryology college text to weigh
this decision properly. According to these books, life begins at the moment
of conception‹when the sperm fertilizes the egg you have a complete,
separate human life with its own individual DNA.

The rest then becomes elementary.  If it is a human being, then we have no
more right to take the life of that innocent human being than we would that
of the average stranger we pass on the street.  It doesn¹t matter if this
so-called scientific research could cure every disease known to man;
obtaining knowledge through these means is inherently wrong and
intrinsically evil.  If this is now acceptable, then what¹s next?

Have we become so shortsighted and self-absorbed as a country that we have
forgotten the lessons we learned from Nuremberg?  As a society, have we
become so selfish that we would say yes if scientists told us they could
really cure it all, but first they need to perform deadly experiments on
every resident of every convalescent home in the country?  At the end of the
day, there is no difference between this scenario and what goes on in ESCR.
Might, convenience and demand do not make the research right.

Once you understand this, it leads then to the inevitable question: How can
a president, a majority leader, a party and a movement who claim to be
pro-life support research that requires the taking of innocent life?  The
objective answer is you cannot.

A wise man once said that principle is doing what is right when no one is
looking.  In this case, the eyes of the world are upon us and now we must do
what is right for our nation, for our posterity and for the good of our own
consciences. Call your family, your friends and your pastor and make sure
they know why embryonic stem cell research is wrong. And then call your
congressmen, your senators and the White House and tell them you do not want
another one of your tax dollars spent on the Frankensteinian science of
embryonic stem cell research.
