Iran's Culture

October 29, 2005

What’s the Deal with Iran?

I was quite shocked after reading the headlines about Iran chanting “Death to Israel, death to America” just a few days ago. What’s their problem anyway? Israel is God’s chosen people according to the Bible. They are the chosen people that God planned that His son Jesus, the promised Messiah would come through to save mankind after the fall of man in the Garden of Eden.

Israel is one of our greatest allies in the Middle East and I just can’t seem to understand why people all over the world hate the Jews. The President of Iran announced that Israel should be wiped off the map and all the Jews destroyed. You see, it’s not the Jews who starts all of the fights. It’s always someone else that likes to be the bully on the playground.

We have already seen a crazed maniac try to wipe out the Jews in World War II. His name was Hitler. Perhaps that the reason that America is so blessed is because we chose to stand with His people and liberate them from a hostile world of evil rulers and terrible tyrants. Saddam Hussein even hated the Jews more than Hitler. He himself was a terrorist of the highest order. He paid families of suicide bomber $25,000 to bomb buses and other objects in Israel. Notice since we eliminated Mr. Hussein, that the violence in Israel has declined?

Even the great and powerful Louis Farrakhan had a conspiracy going that said that there were no Jews in the World Trade Center towers on September 11, 2001 because they knew it was going to be hit. How does Louis Farrakhan know who was in the towers and whether they were Jewish or not? Who is he to conspire “hate speech” toward the Bush administration and spread deception among Americans?  He had another brilliant idea that the levees were blown up by President Bush in New Orleans to drown people in black neighborhoods. Well maybe Mr. Farrakhan should have gotton on his “Mother Wheel” floating above the earth and help rescue these people then instead of blaming someone that he has a person grudge with. If he hates Bush and America so much, maybe he should join Iran’s coalition of Islamic Jihad and hatred.

President Bush is really in no position to defend Israel if attacked, but can authorize Israel to use brutal deadly force if attacked. They can and will defend themselves and they have every right to do so. I stand strongly with Israel and have never hated Jews. I have no problem with the Jewish people. Why does everyone else? Iran can attack Israel if they want, but they had better get ready for the fight of their life because unlike the United States and its liberal war policies, Israel will show no mercy. I sure hope that we can solve this diplomatically because I don’t want to be the victim of a nuclear holocaust started by Islamic terrorist in power.

Home for Christmas ... OOPS!... I mean "Holidays"

Kerry says troops home by Christmas. Progressives don’t believe in Christmas. What?

BY J. Grant Swank, Jr. (10/26/05)

In an attempt to secularize America, Progressives have Xed out Christmas. As far as the far left is concerned, the birth of Christ as a legitimate date on the country’s calendar does not exist. It is bringing church into state. That cannot be permitted.

Further, the Progressives continually seek to erase the Judeo-Christian heritage of America; therefore, Christmas cannot be allowed to be. It is not. It is pushing religion on a culture. It is brashly endorsing a religious observance that does not fit in with the American way of life any more.

Yet it is John Kerry who states that 20,000 US troops must be brought home before Christmas. Not. It is a contradiction in terms, definition, and philosophy.

What then does a reprobate Roman Catholic mean when he calls for US militia to be on American shores by a Christmas that does not stand legitimacy in the United States. It surely does not stand a chance in the eyes of a desecrating-of-the-sacrament John Kerry.

The world is becoming increasingly confusing. Consistency does not stand a level playing field when such self-appointed leaders as Kerry continue to misuse the English language to push for church impinging on state. What is a logical citizen of this nation to think when such linguistic, political, religious and philosophical mayhem reigns?

According to Fox, Kerry is brash enough to strut center stage, obviously missing the media attention since failing his presidential exam last November, and therefore must ring in the Yuletide in his own unreasonable fashion (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,173513,00.html ).

“Sen. John Kerry says President Bush should bring home 20,000 troops from Iraq over the Christmas holidays if the December parliamentary elections there are successful,” according to the AP. He was speaking at Georgetown University.

Christmas.

Obviously Americans believe it is here to stay. However, the politically correct will not tolerate it. That is, unless there is a national disaster over Christmas. Then even the non-church-going promise one another prayers and call on the divine for rescue. Churches are opened as shelters. Clergy are asked to dish out the meals. Parishioners give from their tithes and offerings to help those struck down.

However, church must not mix with state. God must go on leave. Clergy must mug themselves.

It’s a loose world we live in. It’s a very loose hanging world, for sure.

FOOTNOTE:

THE TRUTH ABOUT ‘SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE’

J. Grant Swank, Jr.

Liberals have run off with this phrase, prostituting it per usual.

The matter is simple. It’s this: America does not want a state church. England has a state church — the Anglican Church. America does not want one denomination considered The Nation’s Church.

On the other hand, America has a religious heritage. It’s not Muslim. It’s not Hindu. It’s not Shinto. It’s not animism. It’s not New Age. It’s not Paganism. It’s not Voodoo. It’s Judeo-Christian.

America, while not desiring a state church, does desire religion in life. That includes religious expression in everyday exchange. Because Judeo-Christian is America’s heritage, most citizens honor that heritage expressed and honored. Its expression then should not be thwarted. It should not be belittled. It should not be erased in the name of “separation of church and state.”

Unhampered religious expression is promised in the First Amendment.

Further, America, having a Judeo-Christian heritage and the right to present-tense expression, permits freedom of religious expression to other religions. Therefore, there are those of other religious persuasions who practice without fear their religions in America.

What the liberals want to do is redefine the phrase “separation of church and state” to exclude Judeo-Christian religious expression in America. They want not only “separation of church and state” defined on their terms but the exclusion of the Judeo-Christian religion and anything coming close to that particular religious expression—period.

Liberals believe that if they continue harping on the “separation of church and state” phrase, brainwashing the public with their prostituted definition, especially indoctrinating the next generation with their prostituted definition, then they will have won secularism for America’s future.

They, in other words, want not only separation but exclusion of religion — completely so. Note however that the chief religion they want excluded is Judeo-Christian.

They will even tolerate other religions, as they are presently doing with the Muslim infiltration, but it is Judeo-Christian that they want cleansed from America. In other words, it’s a religious cleansing they desire for this nation — the extinguishing specifically of the Judeo-Christian faith.

Therefore, if tolerating another religion such as Islam helps wipe out Judeo-Christianity, then so be it. Islam is far better a tolerance than the American heritage of Judeo-Christian. Therefore, there are school districts hiring Muslims to speak to teachers on how to give Muslim students honor and space. No such invitation, of course, has been extended to Judeo-Christian specialists speaking to public school educators on how to give Judeo-Christian adherents honor and space.

In a nearby high school, a prayer room was set aside for Muslim students. No such prayer room or any other respect has been presented those of the Judeo-Christian heritage.

Liberals, in other words, will do whatever it takes to obliterate America of its rightful Judeo-Christian heritage. This is accented every year particularly during the Christmas season. Any other so-called “religious expression” can come to the fore but the Christian particulars must be silenced at all costs. So we hear throughout the Christmas season, not Christian hymn carols, but “separation of church and state.”

Once again, liberals have taken language to serve their own twisted purposes. They took “homosexual” and made it “gay.” They took “pro-choice” and made it “protecting females.” They take “separation of church and state” and make it “wiping out America’s Judeo-Christian heritage.”

What those of the Judeo-Christian heritage must do — and far more concertedly than they have ever done in the past — is to make clear to the public what “separation of church and state” really means. This must be put in print in magazines and journals. It must be preached from pulpits. It must be taught in religion classes. It must be spelled out in letters to the editor.

Unfortunately, this simply has not been done. The church in particular has permitted the liberals to carry on with their prostitution of the phrase. I have been appalled over the years to note that the church specifically has not risen to expose the liberals’ misuse of that phrase. Therefore, the young have taken quickly to the liberals’ definition while the church has sat, in the main, silent, allowing the enemy to win out.

Here is an email that I recieved that has alot of truth to it. I just wanted to share it:

Father/Daughter Talk

A young woman was about to finish her first year of college.  Like so many
others her age, she considered herself to be a very liberal Democrat, and
was very much in favor of the redistribution of wealth.

She was deeply ashamed that her father was a rather staunch Republican, a
feeling she openly expressed.  Based on the lectures that she had
participated in, and the occasional chat with a professor, she felt that her
father had for years harbored an evil, selfish desire to keep what he
thought should be his.

One day she was challenging her father on his opposition to higher taxes on
the rich and the addition of more government welfare programs.  The
self-professed objectivity proclaimed by her professors had to be the truth
and she indicated so to her father.  He responded by asking how she was
doing in school.

Taken aback, she answered rather haughtily that she had a 4.0 GPA, and let
him know that it was tough to maintain, insisting that she was taking a very
difficult course load and was constantly studying, which left her no time to
go out and party like other people she knew.  She didn’t even have time for
a boyfriend, and didn’t really have many college friends because she spent
all her time studying.

Her father listened and then asked, “How is you friend Audrey doing?”

She replied, “Audrey is barely getting by.  All she takes are easy classes,
she never studies, and she barely has a 2.0 GPA.  She is so popular on
campus, college for her is a blast.  She’s always invited to all the
parties, and lots of times she doesn’t even show up for classes because
she’s too hung over.”

Her wise father asked his daughter, “Why don’t you go to the Dean’s office
and ask him to deduct a 1.0 off your GPA and give it to your friend who only
has a 2.0.  That way you will both have a 3.0 GPA and certainly that would
be a fair and equal distribution of GPA.”

The daughter, visibly shocked by her father’s suggestion, angrily fired
back, “That wouldn’t be fair! I have worked really hard for my grades!  I’ve
invested a lot of time, and a lot of hard work!  Audrey has done next to
nothing toward her degree.  She played while I worked my tail off!”

The father slowly smiled, winked and said gently, “Welcome to the Republican
Party.”

The Real Ghosts of Halloween

October 26, 2005

What’s The Scariest Thing about Halloween?

I can remember how scary last Halloween was. It was just days before the Presidential election and CBS News was working hard to get their candidate John “Scary” Kerry elected. That was the scariest Halloween I have ever had. Just thinking of a major liberal force being in power and absolute rule scared me. The threat of possibly having my rights as a free American stripped was scary when I thought of John Kerry as president.

You might ask what rights would he strip. I would reply that my Second Amendment rights would be flushed down the toilet of political correctness and liberal mindset.  Everyone knows how anti-gun Mr. Kerry is. While he pretended to be a duck hunter holding a shotgun while pro-gun conservative such as myself found it to be quite comical.

The other thing about Mr. Kerry is that I feared him greatly because of his stance with the United Nations and European Union. Yes, John Kerry promised that he would have our troops home in a short time, but at what cost to our freedom? What would he have sacrificed in order to do so? Primarily being a pro-UN man, my personal presumption would be that he may have given some of our sovereignty over to the United Nations thus making us less independent and much less free. But then again Mr. Kerry always had “ a plan” but never divulged that plan primarily because he probably did not have one to start with.

It seems like every year about this time liberal democrats try to bring down our president. What is it about Halloween that drives these people? Are they the “undead” brothers of Dracula or something? It seems like every time we get rid if one false accusation derived by democrats behaving like a mad scientist just before his experiment becomes alive, they return to haunt us again.

It has been said that the White House is haunted by the ghost of Abraham Lincoln. It probably was until the Clintons moved in. They were the best ghost hunters I have ever seen. Hillary alone would have scared off any sprit, good or evil. If old Abe wasn’t out by the time Clinton left office he would surely leave with the threat of Kerry becoming President. I can’t say that I blame him.  Maybe he’ll haunt these liberal ghost hunters that are investigating Karl Rove.

The whole thing sounds suspicious to me. I have even heard that this prosecutor vowed to take down Rove and the Bush administration before years ago when Bush first came to office. Sounds like a personal affair to me. Maybe if they do find something that will cause d*** Cheney to leave, Bush will put Condi Rice in office as Vice President.  That will surely drive Hillary mad then. Howard Dean will surely scream boldly murder then. AAAAAAAAAAAH !

Well, these are pretty scary things going on this Halloween ( or “holiday” as the left refers to these days now), the scariest Halloween is yet to come. It will be October 31, 2007 when we all wait to see the fate of our nation when Hillary runs for president. Now that’s SCARY! Maybe Hillary will even say BOO! to everyone at the white house including old Abe Himself.

Hating Columbus?

This is from an email that I received and thought I would share it:

I would appreciate some help in publicizing my latest blog post at http://rvindoctrination.blogspot.com/ . I hope to make it the subject of political discourse for quite a bit of time, once it gets enough publicity :=) Please let me know if you republish or link to it. Thanks.

Hating Christopher Columbus at Pierce School

Columbus Day: to celebrate or not to celebrate? That was the question posed for seventh graders at the Pierce School in Brookline as a project for their special unit on Christopher Columbus in the weeks preceding Columbus Day, their answers were to be published in the opinion section of the Brookline TAB, the town’s newspaper, which I stumbled upon after taking my weekly peak at noteworthy updates from TABs around the state.

Ironically, the answers to the question all had the same programmed answer which many may be surprised to hear, i.e., Columbus was a villian who enslaved helpful good-willing Indians, robbed them of their land, and afterwards; the monster murdered 3,000,000 Arawak Indians. Most people would be shocked to hear this and suppose that those seventh graders have quite an imagination, they are wrong in supposing that.

The answers all began with a prompt on how they were enlightened about the real Columbus at school, for which they owe their full gratitude. They then proceed in sharing that amazing insight to the readers. Here are some of the things that they learned:

“In my history class at the Pierce School, we have spent the last two weeks discussing Columbus and many other explorers. In that time, I have learned that Columbus was a cruel person. He forced that Arawaks to work for him and be his slaves after they were very kind to him.”

“In my history class at the Pierce School, we have spent the last two weeks discussing Columbus and many other explorers. In that time I have learned that he thought he was in India, so he called the Native Americans Indians. I think because of his terrible behavior the holiday should not be called Columbus Day.”

One of the more shocking ‘facts’ with which they were armed and miseducated by their chief indoctrinator was that, “Columbus destroyed 2 [million]-3 million of the Arawak population.” Stop the presses, Christopher Columbus was the first person who invented the atomic bomb!

The students were then programmed to demand a new name for the holiday, among the choices were Arawak Day, Explorers Day, and even naming it in honor of the “stylish Vikings”. Former Secretary of Education William Bennett says it best regarding the style of the new cultural education taking place in the public schools, “Hey hey, ho ho! Western civ has got to go!”

We all know why the instructors at American indoctrination camps brainwash their students against conservatives, Christians, Jews, Zionists, and especially President Bush. What brings them to this hate of Christopher Columbus, you may ask? Well, the answer is found in one of the letters of a student who listened to his teacher or rather put on Ritalin medication which turns out excellent robots for the cause, “We also need to give a huge apology to the Native Americans for stealing their land!”

The quote explains it all, Christopher Columbus is now at fault for his vile and terroristic activities in bringing culture to the United States, along with George Washington and the rest of the founding fathers. After further researching the issue, it turns out that the Pierce School indoctrinator did not make up anything new, Christopher Columbus has been a target of the anti-PC left for quite a while now. Dinesh D’Souza explained this new fanaticism in his 1995 piece, “The Crimes of Christopher Columbus.”

Along with countless other columnists and radio hosts, I have received numerous reports from outraged parents and some students on the liberal indoctrination that they encounter on a daily basis. From taking off American flags in classrooms, refusing to have students recite the Pledge of Allegiance in the morning, teachers wearing “Not My President” buttons, to this new liberal agenda to turn their students against the founding fathers, we must say enough! It has long been time to ask the question, where did the values go? Just about every country has their national heroes and pride for their founding fathers, then there’s the American public indoctrination system, teaching students to disrespect Christopher Columbus and George Washington and to worship Hillary Clinton and Michael Moore instead.

I am posting this two weeks after those letters were published, hoping to see some angry parents or citizens speak out against this outrage. It was a dismay that those letters were only celebrated as an example of how well the Brookline Public Schools are doing their job. It appears that it is now our entire responsibility to expose and fight this and other cases of educational corruption before it is to late and American traditional values will suddenly disappear. I will soon be starting a campaign, along with other prominent conservative writers and activists to start from the roots and bring scandal to the Pierce School. We will all need your help in this effort however, we can all work together by sending the link to those letters to fellow patriotic citizens, as well as calling the Pierce School as well as the Brookline school system. With your help, we’ll be able to make America wake up and see what is happening everyday in the nation’s public indoctrination centers.

Not only are we lucky enough to know the school’s name, the name of the indoctrinator in question, Jamie Lyons, was also published. For now, I would appreciate if you could make calls and emails to the contacts below which I was easily able to find through official Brookline websites, as well as send the link to those letters to as many of your patriotic friends as you could. Please keep me in touch on your progress by emailing editor@republicanvoices.org . After around a week, I should update you on an effort that I hope to launch to combat outrages such as these.

WE Will Not Be Defenseless

October 21, 2005

We Will Not Remain Defenseless

What were they thinking? Of course, I am referring to the illegal and wrongful seizure of firearms in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina hit. The National Guard and Police were supposed to be helping people get needed supplies like food and water, not confiscating firearms inside the personal household of victims.

It is now known that police and National Guard soldiers went door to door disarming everyone including on one account, an elderly gray haired lady whose only defense was a small caliber handgun. This elderly lady depended on this handgun during the looting and raping that took place at this time. To me, she had every right to defend herself from the thugs and rapists looting local neighborhoods.

San Francisco is now proposing Proposition H which would ban ALL handguns from the city. Both New Orleans and San Francisco official have always been notoriously anti-gun and perhaps they saw this disaster as the golden opportunity to ban guns from law abiding citizens that only want to defend themselves.

Count on it! In the future of presidential elections we will see more anti-gun candidates. We all know the position of John Kerry, Howard Dean, Hillary Clinton, and a handful of other very liberal Democrats on gun control. Let’s face it. Statistics do NOT lie. In almost every situation where guns have been banned in Canada, Australia, and other parts of the world, crime rate has more than doubled. Perhaps its because the criminals know that the citizens now have no defense, so they can attack without being shot.

I said that citizens have no defense, but we can fix that. If liberal gun hating officials do indeed break the Second Amendment and ban guns, then I suppose it will be up to us to buy razor sharp four foot long swords to defend our home with. Which do you want us to use? A .45 caliber handgun or a sword? It’s don’t matter with me! I will defend myself with whatever means is necessary to do so.

Let’s face it. Killing someone in cold blood for revenge or money is murder. Self-defense is totally different. These politicians want guns gone simply because they want to bow to the mighty authority of the UN and EU. I hate to tell them this and break their little hearts, but the United States is a SOVERIGN nation that bows to no one! We don’t concede to communists nor their anti-god, anti-gun, and anti-American ideals. We already have a constitution that makes our laws and rules, why ask the UN what to do? Who are they to make rules for us? All I can say is thank God for John Bolton. Maybe he’ll make it clear to the UN that we do not relax our constitutional rights to nations without self control.

The Second Amendment makes it perfectly clear that we have the right to bears arms and yet some cannot understand it. Michael Moore is one of the most gun hating liberals in America and yet was caught boarding a bus with a concealed weapon. Is that not hypocrisy of the highest order? By the way, everyone who loves America and the Second Amendment should go to www.michaelmoorehatesamerica.com to read more about these issues.

As for me I will continue to fight for my Second Amendment right to bear arms and continue to support great American organizations like the National Rifle Association. What about you? It is up to you and I to help keep America free.

SPECIAL ALERT !

ISSUES THAT MATTER SPECIAL ALERT

OCTOBER 20, 2005

Dear Readers:

I normally don’t send out special alerts about events in the news since you all recieve my newsletter every week. The story you are about to hear is nerve racking and ridiculous. You all know how the ACLU is always filing some kind of lawsuit for something. Now they have gone too far! It appears that they are filing a lawsuit in Georgia over someone at a meeting saying a prayer and using the words “in the name of Jesus we pray”. How far will the ACLU go? Below is the link to read for yourself the story of how those began and how angry Cobb County Georgia residents are. They should be and have every right to be angry. Let’s say a word of prayer for them and support them during this trial.

Sincerely,

Rob Hood

WEBSITE & Verse for the week

WEBSITE OF THE WEEK

World Evangelism

World Evangelism is a site that I searched for after reading a Christian magazine in the doctor’s office one day. The magazine was called The Voice of Truth International and is put out by World Evangelism. These people are devoted to spreading the gospel in much the same way that the International Mission Board is. Though they are representative of the Church of Christ, I cannot distinguish a difference of beliefs between them and the Baptist denomination. I highly recommend this site to anyone who is interested in supporting evangelism. The quarterly magazine, The Voice of Truth International is also well worth subscribing to. The site is www.worldevangelism.org .

MOVING AMERICA FORWARD

There is a group that I promoted not long ago called Move America Forward. They were interviewed by Sean Hannity one day. Their site is www.moveamericaforward.org . These are some of their accomplishments:

Howard Kaloogian
Founder, Move America Forward
http://www.KaloogianForCongress.com

=========================================================

*We led the “You Don’t Speak for Me, Cindy” caravan across the nation to Crawford, Texas.  We stopped in more than one-dozen cities and rallied several thousand Americans to step up and make clear that Cindy Sheehan did NOT represent the views of most Americans.  At the conclusion of our efforts more Americans said they looked at Ms. Sheehan in an unfavorable light than a favorable one.

*We followed up the “You Don’t Speak for Me, Cindy” caravan with a national pro-troop bus tour that stopped in more than 20 American cities for pro-troop rallies… from San Francisco to Washington, D.C.  The bus tour culminated in a big pro-troop rally in Washington, D.C. that was broadcast live for 4 1/2 hours by C-SPAN.  We were treated to President Bush flying over in his helicopter and giving his supporters a wave.

*Move America Forward worked, in conjunction with RighTalk Radio, led the “Voices of Soldiers” Truth Tour - with Move America Forward’s Co-Chairs (Howard Kaloogian & Melanie Morgan) and MAF Board Member Buzz Patterson leading a delegation of radio talk show hosts to Iraq. The talk show hosts interviewed thousands of soldiers, providing a forum for them to tell the American people about the accomplishments they are making in Operation Iraqi Freedom and the fight against terrorism.

*We collected and sent $2.8 Million worth of pharmaceutical supplies to Afghanistan & Iraq.

*Move America Forward was the leading organization to publicly speak out against Michael Moore’s Fahrenheit 9/11 - exposing it as an Anti-American propaganda piece filled with countless inaccuracies and misrepresentations.  It was NO documentary.

*Exposed the partnership between Moore’s “Fahrenheit 9/11” distribution companies and the terrorist group, Hezbollah, which worked to help make sure the Anti-American film was seen throughout the Middle East.

*We’ve broadcast more than one dozen television and radio commercials throughout the nation advocating support for our troops and the fight against terrorism .  We have been speaking out against the United Nations for their fiscal corruption and unwillingness to stand up to terrorism. More than 100 million Americans have seen our ads.

*Started a petition drive to kick the UN out of the USA—we’ve collected approximately 100,000 signatures to date.  They need a wake-up call that Americans are not going to keep paying for an organization that doesn’t even hide its anti-Americanism.

*We’ve been a leading voice speaking out against the United Nations’ “Oil for Food” scam, the abuse and sexual assault of children by U.N. workers, and the failure of the U.N. to fight the terrorist organizations that threaten freedom-loving nations around the globe.

*Organized the largest network of pro-troops rallies, “Believe in Freedom—9/11 We Will Never Forget” on the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. The rallies were held in cities throughout the country with the largest events taking place in New York City, San Francisco, Sacramento, Indianapolis and San Diego.

*After being approached by the Walt Disney Corporation, we conducted a high-profile screening of Disney’s “America’s Heart & Soul”—a pro-American alternative to Moore’s hate-filled diatribe. Political leaders, community leaders, members of the public and news media attended this by-invitation-only event.

*Launched the “Coffee for Our Troops” program in partnership with deluxe coffee roaster, Cornerstone Coffee. To date we’ve sent over 6 tons of premium fresh ground coffee to our troops serving in Iraq & Afghanistan. The coffee has been sent Priority Mail to ensure maximum freshness. We have since sent thousands of boxes of cookies to our troops to go along with that coffee!

*We’ve worked with U.S. Central Command and our troops serving in Iraq & Afghanistan to launch the “A call to home” program, where active duty military personnel currently serving in Iraq call radio stations telling the truth of what is really going on and how successful the military has been in Iraq and Afghanistan - news you will never find in the mainstream media.

*Partnered with 8-year old Adam Johns of Roseville, California to launch “Operation Fuzzy Wuzzy”—we collected over 5000 teddy bears from Americans and then sent them to the children who survived the horrific terrorist attack at the school in Beslan, Russia.

*Rallied hundreds of thousands of Americans to register their support for pro-American patriot, John Bolton, to serve as the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations.  We took Senators to task for holding up his nomination while vital American interests were being unattended at the UN.

At the end of the day, Move America Forward has become the fastest growing conservative organization in America today.

The Doctor Speaks ...

The following is a transcipt from Dr. James Dobson’s Focus on the Family radio program which I done an article on not too long ago. It has to do with his involvment with Karl Rove in the selection of Harriet Miers for Supreme Court justice.

RESOURCES : Focus on the Family @ www.family.org

Dr. Dobson Explains What He Knows About Harriet Miers

The following is a transcript of Focus on the Family Chairman Dr. James Dobson’s comments from Wednesday’s broadcast, in which he discusses what the White House told him about Supreme Court nominee Harriet Miers.

OPENING VOICE TRACK:

John Fuller: It’s Wednesday. I’m John Fuller and you’re tuned to “FOF” with psychologist and author, Dr. James Dobson. And Doctor, what a crazy week you’ve had!

BODY:

JCD: Well, John, if our listeners and friends have been monitoring the news on radio and television and the Internet and if they have been listening to other talk shows in the past week, then they know well, that I have been a topic of conversation from the nation’s Capitol to the tiniest burg and farming community. And the issue that’s propelled this unprecedented interest in something that I’ve said is my conversation with Deputy White House Chief of Staff, Karl Rove, that occurred on October 1st, just a few days ago. And that was the day before President Bush made his decision to nominate White House Counsel, Harriet Miers, to be the next Justice of the Supreme Court.

Now, as you know and as I’m sure many of our listeners know, there are members of the judiciary committee who are running from one talk show to another, threatening to subpoena me to find out what occurred in that conversation with Karl Rove. And I am going to make their job easier (Laughter), because in the next few minutes, I’m gonna tell them what I would say to them if I were sitting before the judiciary committee. And this is the essence of what transpired between the Deputy Chief of Staff of the White House and me. So, is that clear?

John: I think that is. And for our listeners, you wouldn’t believe all that’s going on here at Focus, as so many of the mainstream media—most of the mainstream media--is contacting us. They, like those Senators, want to know, “What does Dr. Dobson know? What did he talk about? Tell us, please.”

JCD: Well, John, I think it’s time that I did that.

John: Okay, before you do though, it probably would be helpful for our listeners to understand why you can talk about that now and previously you couldn’t.

JCD: Yeah, I haven’t been willing to. The reason is because Karl Rove has now given me permission to go public with our conversation. And I’m gonna say a little more about that in a minute.

John: OK. Well, fill us in then on what happened.

JCD: Well, let me go back through the sequence of events and . . . and explain what happened. The President announced his decision on Monday morning, October 3rd, that Harriet Miers was his selection and the debate was on. And a few hours after that, many conservative Christian leaders were involved in a conference call, wherein some of those men and women were expressing great disillusionment with President Bush’s decision and there was a lot of anger over his failure to select someone with a proven track record in the courts. And I came in a little bit late and I caught just a bit of that angst and then I shared my opinion, that Harriet Miers might well be more in keeping with our views than they might think and that I did believe that she was a far better choice than many of my colleagues were saying and that they obviously believed.

Well, my reasons for supporting her were twofold, John.

First, because Karl Rove had shared with me her judicial philosophy which was consistent with the promises that President Bush had made when he was campaigning. Now he told the voters last year that he would select people to be on the Court who would interpret the law rather than create it and judges who would not make social policy from the bench. Most of all, the President promised to appoint people who would uphold the Constitution and not use their powers to advance their own political agenda. Now, Mr. Rove assured me in that telephone conversation that Harriet Miers fit that description and that the President knew her well enough to say so with complete confidence.

Then he suggested that I might want to validate that opinion by talking to people in Texas who knew Miers personally and he gave me the names of some individuals that I could call. And I quickly followed up on that conversation and got glowing reports from a federal judge in Texas, Ed Kinkeade and a Texas Supreme Court justice, Nathan Hecht, who is highly respected and has known Harriet Miers for more than 25 years. And so, we talked to him and we talked to some others who are acquainted with Ms. Miers.

So, I shared my findings with my colleagues, not only what I just mentioned, but other calls I made. I talked to Chuck Colson, my great friend, who is a constitutional attorney--

John: Uh-hm, uh-hm.

JCD:—and talked to him four times. He helped me kind of assimilate the information that we had garnered, but I would not say much about the phone call from Karl Rove, even though I’m very close to many of the people who are on the telephone. Why would I not do that? Because it was a confidential conversation and I’ve had a long-standing policy of not going out and revealing things that are said to me in confidence. That may come from my training as a psychologist, where you hear all sorts of things that you can’t go out and talk about.

John: Sure.

JCD: And I feel very strongly about that. And frankly, I think it’s a mistake and maybe even an ethical problem for people to do that—to go out and brag about being a player on the national scene, maybe to make themselves to look important. You know, I just wish that didn’t happen like it does and I certainly didn’t want to be part of it.

So, I wouldn’t reveal any of the details about the call, although I did say to these pro-family leaders, which has been widely quoted, that Karl had told me something that I probably shouldn’t know. And you know, it really wasn’t all that tantalizing, but I still couldn’t talk about it.

And what I was referring to is the fact that on Saturday, the day before the President made his decision, I knew that Harrier Miers was at the top of the short list of names under consideration. And as you know, that information hadn’t been released yet, and everyone in Washington and many people around the country wanted to know about it and the fact that he had shared with me is not something I wanted to reveal.

But we also talked about something else, and I think this is the first time this has been disclosed. Some of the other candidates who had been on that short list, and that many conservatives are now upset about were highly qualified individuals that had been passed over. Well, what Karl told me is that some of those individuals took themselves off that list and they would not allow their names to be considered, because the process has become so vicious and so vitriolic and so bitter, that they didn’t want to subject themselves or the members of their families to it.

So, even today, many conservatives and many of ‘em friends of mine, are being interviewed on talk shows and national television programs. And they’re saying, “Why didn’t the President appoint so-and-so? He or she would have been great. They had a wonderful judicial record. They would have been the kind of person we’ve been hoping and working and praying for to be on the Court.” Well, it very well may be that those individuals didn’t want to be appointed.

John: For understandable reasons, because the grilling that they get in that confirmation process is just brutal.

JCD: Well, it’s true. The Democrats have so politicized that process that it’s become an ordeal and many people just don’t want to go through that. And I’m not sure I blame them. So, Karl Rove shared some of that with me.

He also made it clear that the President was looking for a certain kind of candidate, namely a woman to replace Justice O’Connor. And you can imagine what that did to the short list. That cut it . . . I haven’t looked at who I think might have been on that short list, because Karl didn’t tell me who was not willing to be considered.

But that may have cut it by 80 percent right there. But I was not gonna be the one to reveal this. I knew that people would eventually be aware of some of that information, but I didn’t think I had the right to say it.

And so, I made my comment.

Now there’s. . . there’s something else I’ll say in a moment that I was referring to. But let me just say that some of my friends that I was talking to that day and thought I was speaking in confidence, went straight to the media and. . . and shared what I had said or what I had not said. And that’s where the firestorm began. You know, “What did Dobson know and when did he know it?”

Now let me go back to the statement that there were some things from my conversation with Karl Rove that I couldn’t talk about. And of course, the media has keyed on that statement. I had no idea that was going to be released to the media, but there it is.

So, what was it that I couldn’t talk about? The answer has everything to do with timing. It’s very important to remember that when I first made that statement about knowing things that I shouldn’t know, and shared that with my colleagues the day that the President made his announcement, maybe two or three hours after his press conference.

And then, that very night, I went on the Brit Hume program—the FOX News program—and. . . and talked about the President’s nomination. And then, the following day—Tuesday—I recorded a statement for FOF, which was heard on Wednesday. And that is the last time that I said that I had information that was confidential and that I really couldn’t talk about.

Why? Because what I was told by Karl Rove had been confirmed and reported from other sources by that time.

What did Karl Rove say to me that I knew on Monday that I couldn’t reveal? Well, it’s what we all know now, that Harriet Miers is an Evangelical Christian, that she is from a very conservative church, which is almost universally pro-life, that she had taken on the American Bar Association on the issue of abortion and fought for a policy that would not be supportive of abortion, that she had been a member of the Texas Right to Life. In other words, there is a characterization of her that was given to me before the President had actually made this decision. I could not talk about that on Monday. I couldn’t talk about it on Tuesday. In fact, Brit Hume said, “What church does she go to?” And I said, “I don’t think it’s up to me to reveal that.” Do you remember my saying that?

John: I do, yes.

JCD: What I meant was, I couldn’t get into this. But by Wednesday and Thursday and Friday, all this information began to come out and it was no longer sensitive. I didn’t have the right to be the one that revealed it and that’s what I was referring to.

John: Well, I’d also guess, Doctor, that the answer you gave here about the contents of that conversation and why you couldn’t divulge some of those matters, won’t satisfy the senators on the judiciary committee, who were looking for some red meat.

JCD: Well, John, I have no doubt that what I’ve just said will be a great disappointment to Senator Schumer and Senator Salazar and Senator Biden and Senator Durban and Senator Leahy and Senator Lautenberg and some of the other liberal Democrats, because Karl Rove didn’t tell me anything about the way Harriet Miers would vote on cases that may come before the Supreme Court.

We did not discuss Roe v. Wade in any context or any other pending issue that will be considered by the Court. I did not ask that question. You know, to be honest, I would have loved to have known how Harriet Miers views Roe v. Wade. But even if Karl had known the answer to that and I’m certain that he didn’t, because the President himself said he didn’t know, Karl would not have told me that.

That’s the most incendiary information that’s out there and it was never part of our discussion.

One thing is clear. We know emphatically that Justices Souter and Kennedy and Breyer and Ginsburg and Stevens have made up their mind about Roe v. Wade, by politicizing their decrees on that issue and others. They have usurped the right of the people to govern themselves and they imposed a radical agenda on this country. And John, as long as I’m talking about that, let me say one other thing.

More recently, they have been drawing some of their conclusions, not from the Constitution and not from precedent and not from the American people, but from public opinion in Western Europe. You know, that’s one of the most outrageous developments in the history of the Court. American public opinion is ignored and so are previous Court decisions or precedent. And frequently, the Constitution itself is bypassed. And instead they favor the views of people who have no commitment to our freedoms and our traditions that the Founding Fathers gave us.

So, I want the President to appoint someone who will go to the original intent of the Constitution and tell us what the founding fathers meant. If we don’t like what they wrote, there’s a process to change it. But the way it works now, every time the Court meets, it can be more or less a constitutional convention, where five or more justices reinterpret the meaning of that precious document.

Now Karl Rove didn’t tell me all of that, but what he said, in essence, is that Harriet Miers is a strict constructionist, which is why the President likes her.

And you know, I’ve never met her; I don’t have any personal communication with her. I’ve never received a letter or a phone call from her or any firsthand knowledge, but I do believe President Bush is serious when he says this is the kind of person I’m looking for and Harriet Miers is such a person.

Nevertheless, what the Democrats have concluded in their wildest speculation is that Mr. Rove laid out for me a detailed promise that Ms. Miers would vote to overturn Roe v. Wade and revealed all the other judicial opinions that she has supposedly prejudged. It did not happen, period!

Senator Leahy was speaking on George Stephanopoulos’s program, “This Week” on Sunday, just past. And this is what he said and I quote. This is word for word: “James Dobson has said that he knew privately; he had private assurances of how she would vote.” Well, Leahy is either lying or he’s given to his own delusions or he’s got some problem somewhere, because that’s flat out not true.

Nowhere have I been quoted making such a statement, because it’s not true.

Again John, last Sunday, Democrats were on all the talk shows and nearly all of them mentioned me one way or another. Senator Schumer from New York, referred to my conversations with Karl Rove as a “wink and a whisper,” you know, trying to make something sinister out of it.

It’s obvious what the agenda is here.

Now John, I feel like I have clarified the nature of my conversation with Karl Rove. Let me just say in the conclusion to my comments here --and I want to speak directly to members of the judiciary committee about the possibility of my coming to testify-- if they want to do that, then I just suggest that they quit talking about and just go do it. I have nothing to hide and I’ll be happy to come and talk to you. But I won’t have anything to say that I haven’t just told millions of people. And so, that’s really the end of my statement.

(end of transcript)

A Question of Nominees

October 11, 2005

A Question of Nominees

The nominee has been picked for United States Supreme Court Justice replacing Sandra Day O’Conner. I was actually quite shocked when I heard the announcement of WHO the nominee actually was. I was expecting a well known name of someone who was a true conservative.

I am not saying that Harriet Miers will not be a conservative. After all, the justices that President Bush has picked so far has fit the bill of whom he promised to nominate during the debates of 2004. He has done exactly what he promised his voters he would do, so why should conservatives ( including myself ) not trust Mr. Bush with this nomination?

This whole thing has blown well out of proportion and the dems are smiling like a mule eating briars over the whole thing. Even the famous Dr. James Dobson is under critical fire from the liberals in Washington to come clean about what he knows about the judicial nominee prior to the announcement.

It has been circulated around that Dr. Dobson actually had a conversation with Karl Rove, the White House advisor, about Harriet Miers before the nomination took place. Dr. Dobson has shown heavy public support for this nominee based on what he apparently knows about her Pro-Life stance that still seems a bit of a mystery to most of us.  On Wednesday and Thursday of this week, Dr. Dobson will make clear to his radio listeners his side of the story and about why he supports this nominee. I urge everyone to go to www.family.org to see how you can listen to this story.

I have been a long time supporter and follower of Dr. James Dobson and his daily growing ministry Focus on the Family. His ministry has touched thousands and has an audience of millions. In the days after the liberals skewed and spinned his words about a popular cartoon character, Sponge Bob, I supported him and believed in him.  His organization actually sent out over one million letters about three or more pages long that explained what was actually said about the cartoon character and how the media spinned his words to their political advantage.

Dr. Dobson has been speaking out on critical issues for a long time and I have never seen one time that I have actually disagreed with him. I must say that his support of this judicial nominee baffles me. I guess I should trust him and President Bush. I suppose that the reason that I and other conservatives along with me have not accepted this person is the lack of records to show who she really is. We all know that she worked with a pro-life group in Texas and that she stood up against the American Bar Association on the issue of abortion, but where does she stand on other issues?

What is her stance on gun control? The last thing we need is a gun control judge on the Supreme Court. I haven’t seen much support from the NRA or other gun rights groups. What about religion and the Ten Commandments displays, prayer in school, the Pledge of Allegiance, and other vital court rulings of late? What about her view on same-sex marriage or civil unions? WE need to know these views in order to approve of her fully. The president and Dr. Dobson are saying “Trust Me” but that’s all we can do for now. I sure hope she turns out to be a true conservative and constructionist judge who follows the law that is already made and not try to legislate from the bench like we have seen in the past. For now, trust is all we have to go on.

A passage to remember

PSALM 8

THEME: The greatness of God assures the worth of mankind. God, the all-powerful creator, cares for his most valuable creation-people.

O Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is you name in all the earth!

You have set your glory
above the heavens.
From the lips of children and infants
You have ordained praise
because of your enemies,
to silence the foe and the avenger.

When I consider your heavens,
the work of your fingers,
the moon and stars,
which you have set in place,
what is man that you are mindful of him,
the son of man that you care for him?
You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings
and crowned him with glory and honor.

You made him ruler over the works of your hands;
You put everything under his feet:
all flocks and herds,
and the beasts of the field,
the birds of the air,
and the fish of the sea,
all that swim the paths of the seas.

O Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!

Sign of the Times...

It seems as if hurricanes, tornadoes, typhoons, floods, earthquakes, and volcanoes are increasing in intensity and in quantity. Notice how some group is always blowing something up or threatening to do so. It is clear to me that these are the signs that Jesus warned his deciples about as they questioned His second coming. Notice what the Bible says:

And there will be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the Earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them for fear.

Luke 21:25-26

For many will come in my name, saying I am Christ; and shall decieve many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise aginst nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there will be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

Matthew 21 ( selected verses)

It seems to me that these things are now coming to pass. Could we be living in the end times? I think so! That’s why it is so important to get the gospel to as many as possible NOW!

The Battle for God Continues ...

This is by a daughter of a murdered couple in Raytown, Missouri who had a Bible and Bookstore on 63rd Street. When I had to testify at the murder trial of my parents a week ago, I was asked to raise my right hand. The bailiff started out, “Do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth ? I stood there and waited but she said nothing more. She then said, “Do you?” I was so stunned I blurted out, “What happened to “so help me God?” She came back with “Do you?” I replies yes, but I was perplexed. Then the judge said, “You can say that if you want to.” I stopped, raised my right hand and finished with “so help me God!”

I told my son and daughter that when it came time for them to testify, they should do the same. It’s no wonder we have so many problems in this country. If I’d had my wits about me, I’d have told them that taking God out of the courtroom is only going to result in more criminals and murderers like him being in there. I don’t know what can be done about it, but it’s time we stepped up and did something.  CNBC this morning had a poll on this question. They had the highest number of responses that they have ever had for one of their polls and the percentage was the same as this: 86% to keep the words; 15% against. That is a pretty commanding public response. I was asked to send this on if I agreed or delete if I didn’t. Now it is your turn. It is said that 85% of Americans believe in God. Therefore, I have a very hard time understanding why there is such a mess about having “In God We Trust” on our money and having “under God” in the Pledge of Allegiance. Why don’t we just tell the 14% to sit down and SHUT UP!

If you agree, pass it on. If not, you know where that friendly little ol’ delete button is. Wait! Do you really want to hit that Delete button? Are you so cynical and hard-hearted that you don’t believe God will hear people when they call on His name? Now, decide whether to delete or pass it on. ...if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

The Mississippi Gambling Debate

October 4, 2005

A Long Face in Mississippi

It was a sad day for Mississippi conservatives and church members across the state. For two weeks we had been waiting on the verdict about the casinos on the Gulf Coast. When the casinos were first brought to Mississippi there was much opposition and it was decided that the casinos could only be built on the water for docking cruise ships and such to stop at.

Well, here came Hurricane Katrina. It wiped out the whole casino marketplace and displaced thousands. The argument was that the revenue from the casino taxes could be used for education. Well, that worked out as planned. HA! Most of the money was used for education as it was planned, but for only the counties in which the casinos existed or some of the counties surrounding the area. So that failed as a primary purpose.

Once assessments were made, it was up to the Mississippi legislature ( democrat controlled ) to vote on what to do next. Two proposals were made. One consisted of rebuilding the casinos as were previously which was on water only. The other was to let the casinos build on shore. Naturally the churches ( including myself ) had an overwhelming opposition since we knew that casinos would eventually pop up everywhere like mushrooms after a rain.

It was voted on today and the decision was reached 29-21 that the casinos build on land and Governor Haley Barbour ( Republican ) made the decision to approve that bill. So if you go to Mississippi soon and see someone with a long face , you now know the reason.

The Christian Action Commission of Mississippi sent out letters to numerous church officials asking the leaders and members to contact their state representatives and voice their opinion since we knew that it would already be a close vote and nerves were on edge.

Well, apparently we lost this round. People applauded in the Southern part of the state because this meant thousands of jobs and state revenue. However, you never seem to hear the other side of the story. You always hear of someone winning big time, how great the food is, and how fun it is. What they never show you is the man on the streets drunk and begging for something to eat or some money because gambling cost him his wife and kids, his home, and his job. His addiction cost him his life. They never show us that side of it. After all they don’t call it a caSINo for nothing.

It is often disputed that the Bible talks about gambling and the critics are somewhat right. The Bible says very little about gambling but it is viewed by the Southern Baptist denomination as a type of idol worship since the gambling is putting his/her faith in materialism above his/her faith in God to make a living therefore breaking the commandment, “ Thou shalt have no other Gods before me”. All we can do now is pray and hope for the best because it may be a long time coming.

The New Supreme Court Nominee.

Today President Bush picked Harriet Miers for his new Supreme Court nominee. Will she be a strict constructionist and conservative that we have been hoping for? Only time will tell, but my gut tells me to trust the President.

This is a site that I have visited several times and have known about it for quite a while. I was first introduced to it when the hot debate about “activist judges” on the Supreme Court were being criticized heavily by Dr. James Dobson of Focus on the Family. This site contains a host of useful information about activist judges and even offers you, the reader, a chance to sign the Declaration of Constitutional Restoration. I urge you to visit the site and sign the declaration today at www.stopactivistjudges.org

God's Plan of Salvation

If you died tonight where would you go? Would you go to heaven? There is a way to be sure that you will be in Heaven. It’s god plan of salvation. It is a free gift from God and all you have to do is receive it:

God loves you and wants you to have eternal life. (John 3:16, 10:10)

You are a sinner in need of forgiveness. You are separated from God and will face his judgment. (Romans 3:23, 6:23, Hebrews 9:27)

God wants to forgive you and has shown His love for you by sending His son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for your sins. He paid our sin debt with His blood. (Romans 5:8, 1 Peter 3:18)

To be forgiven you must repent and turn away from your sins. (Luke 13:5, Ephesians 2:8-9)

You must place your faith in Jesus. He is the ONLY way to receive forgiveness and inherit eternal life. (Acts 20:21, John 14:6)

You can receive Jesus through prayer. (Revelation 3:20, Romans 10: 9-19)

It could be a simple prayer similar to this:

Dear Heavenly Father, I know I am a sinner and have displeased you in many ways. I believe you died on the cross to save me from my sins and were resurrected on the third day so that I may have eternal life. Will you please forgive me for my sins? I want to turn from my sins and ask you to come into my life as my Lord and personal Savior. From now on I will live a life pleasing to you. Thank you for your grace, love, and forgiveness. Amen!

If you have made this decision, go to church Sunday and make a public profession of faith in Christ and follow the Lord in believer’s baptism and church membership.

This is the most important decision you’ll ever make. It will decide where you will spend eternity. No one knows if they will be here tomorrow. If Jesus comes back tonight or if something happens to you and you die today and you have not trusted Jesus, it will be too late! It’s very important that you trust Him NOW because you may never get another chance.

Tomorrow may never come!

The news on this site is very much similar to that of any other. I strongly reccomend this site and its news stories to anyone wanting to get away from the mainstream liberal bias. The site is named The Most In-depth, Conservative, Honest news and Commentary and can be viewed by clicking here : http://www.michnews.com/
